⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Anticipated!)

I loved the first book, The Wren in the Library, so The Robin on the Oak Throne is easily one of my most anticipated reads of the year! I recommend the first book to everyone who loves a magical, modern, post-apocalyptic vibe with fierce characters and swoony moments 💫📚—so I was beyond hopeful this would live up to it. Spoiler alert: it absolutely does!

This 8-chapter preview was such a tease—in the best way! It pulled me right back into the story and left me desperate to read more. I'm already obsessed. OBSESSED.

I especially appreciated the inclusion of trigger warnings and THE MAP!! 🗺️ Seeing this world laid out visually was such a cool bonus—especially since I listened to the audiobook of the first book and had been imagining everything in my head until now 🎧🌍

If the rest of the book lives up to this sneak peek, it’s going to be a 2025 five-star read for sure! 🌟📖

Huge thanks to NetGalley, Entangled Publishing, and K.A. Linde for letting me read this preview in exchange for my honest opinion.

This eight chapter preview is awesome! It was just enough to really pull me in to the story and it left me wanting so much more. I am already obsessed with this story and I can't wait to continue it after the book releases. If the rest of the book is as good as this sneak peak is, I just know it will be a five star read!

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for allowing me to read this preview ahead of the book release in exchange for my honest opinion.

This preview of The Robin in the Oak Room included the beginning portions of the book and the first 8 chapters. I love seeing content warnings listed in trad books and always love a map. The story picks up quickly and oh my gosh, Entangled, you knew what you were doing with the moment the sample ended on. Now I'll have to read the rest when it releases!

Thanks to Entangled/Red Tower and NetGalley for a preview of this book.

I fell in love with Kierse and Graves in the first book but to know there was more coming made it so hard to wait for it! I was granted a sneak peek of the Robin on the Oak Throne which did not disappoint! It started with a bang in the first 50 pages and I was hooked! To not give spoilers, but this story is so intriguing and it is so hard to predict the twists and turns and will definitely keep your attention! Kierse has left Graves and New York and is now in Europe. Her current job is to steal a bracelet from the Queen of Nymphs’ bracelet! Of course Kierse does not back down from the challenge and the ride begins! From someone who reads over 150 books a year and finds it hard to not to become bored with the storyline I can honestly say this book is so worth the read! K.A. Linde has become one of my auto buy authors! I will read everything she writes! Do not miss out on her books

This sneak peek was so good, but such a tease! The heist, the tension, the new characters. Absolutely loved, and cannot wait to read the full story upon release,

Thank you Entangled, for providing this sneak peek. All thoughts expressed are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for the little preview!! It just made me even more excited for the full book. Release day can't come fast enough. I need to know what happens!!!

Noooo, I need more! The preview was a tease but just enough to keep me on my toes and ready for the full story.

Being back in this world was beyond magical. I almost forgot how ethereal the world building was and the thrill of thieving along with Kierse. Her and Graves working together was always a sight to behold, but now that the stakes and prizes are higher, I just know this will be a read that’ll have me in a chokehold.

Thank you, NetGalley and Entangled Publishing, for the chance at a sneak peek review of The Robin on the Oak Throne before its debut on June 17.

The Robin on the Oak Throne by K.A. Linde completely swept me off my feet! From the moment I started reading, I could feel the magic in the air. Linde’s writing is so rich and immersive-it’s the kind of book that pulls you into its world and refuses to let go. The blend of fantasy, romance, and mystery is perfect, and the characters are so well-crafted that they feel like old friends.

Such an intriguing first handful of chapters! I need more right away! I loved the first book and am so happy to jump back into this story and see what is going to happen with Kierse and Graves!

Since it was only 8 chapters I can’t give a full rating. Did the 8 chapters leave me wanting more? Of course. But 8 chapters was all I got.

Oh it was so wonderful to be back in this world!! 8 chapters was not enough! I can't wait for the book to be released so I can finish the story!

I was immediately hooked by the opening chapters of *The Wren in the Holly Library*. Kierse McKenna is a bold, clever thief who breaks the Monster Treaty, again, after a job gone wrong. I loved the high-stakes tension, especially when Graves, the dark and dangerously charming warlock who once betrayed her, reappears with a new mission. Their chemistry crackles, and the emotional push-pull between them had me turning pages fast. The world is rich with magic, monsters, and secrets, and the writing kept me fully immersed. If you enjoy morally gray characters, dangerous bargains, and slow-burning tension, this book is a must-read. I can’t wait to read the rest!

The Robin and the Oak Throne Preview by K.A. Linde is the second book in the The Oak & Holly Cycle Series. This preview contains the first 8 chapters, quasi giving a n amuse gueule.
I enjoyed reading this chapters and can't wait for the book to release.

Having absolutely loved the first book in this series, I was thrilled to get my hands on the sneak peek for “The Robin on the Oak Throne.” If these first eight chapters are any indication, this sequel is shaping up to be just as addictive and emotionally charged as its predecessor!

From the very start, I was pulled back into the world K.A. Linde has so masterfully crafted. Kierse and Graves’ dynamic is as electric as ever—full of sharp wit, simmering tension, and an undeniable chemistry that leaps off the page. Their reunion, while on a job, is both thrilling and awkward, especially with the lingering hurt and distrust that Kierse still carries from their previous encounters. Six months may have passed, but those wounds are clearly still fresh for her.

Graves, ever the provocateur, keeps introducing Kierse as his wife—a move that’s both playful and pointed. Whether he’s trying to get under her skin or will their future into existence, it’s clear he’s not ready to let her go. Their banter is one of my favorite aspects of the series; it’s clever, layered, and utterly engaging. It’s obvious these two make a fantastic pair, but the lack of trust is a formidable barrier that Kierse will have to overcome.

As a reader, I’m already rooting for Graves to prove himself worthy of Kierse’s trust again. The emotional stakes feel higher than ever, and I can’t wait to see how their relationship evolves as the story unfolds. If the momentum of these first chapters continues, “The Robin on the Oak Throne” is going to be a must-read for fans of the series!

I received a teaser ARC of The Robin on the Oak Throne from the publisher in exchange for an honest review, and I can confidently say: this sequel delivers. I liked The Wren in the Holly Library a lot—its world was strange and lyrical, its magic system intriguing—but I also felt like it held back in some places, especially when it came to pace and emotional payoff.

But Robin? Robin is the moment.

Even with just the first eight chapters, I was so gripped I went ahead and pre-ordered the full book. That’s how invested I already am.

The Characters: Graves, the Holly King is haunted, powerful, and clearly holding onto more secrets than are even good for him. Kierse is sharp-tongued and funny. She's the last known will-o’-the-wisp fae (which, yes, I’m obsessed with, since it genuinely surprised me in the first book, and desperate to know more about). Their dynamic has all the potential for that delicious blend of danger, distrust, and reluctant alliance. You can already feel the resparking of tension between them, and the way they challenge each other is so well done, even this early on.

The World-building: Right out of the gate, this feels faster and more urgent than Wren. The setup is tight, the stakes are personal, and there’s an undercurrent of threat and magic that propels everything forward. Even in just eight chapters, the world feels darker and more active, like things are already in motion for chaos to erupt.

Final thoughts: We’re only getting a glimpse, but what a glimpse it is. I’m especially intrigued by the question of why Kierse is the last of her kind (or if she truly is). That mystery alone has me hooked. Ava Reid is setting the stage for something truly epic.

I don't know why I thought jumping on the teaser of this book was a good idea because now I need more ASAP!!! I absolutely LOVE K.A. Linde's work, and have been waiting for this book to release since I read the ending of The Wren in the Holly Library. Even though it's only 8 chapters, I already know this book will be just as amazing.

The first 8 chapters were enthralling and I'm so excited for the release to pick it up and read the rest!! What an excellent follow up to Wren and the Holly Library already!

"Enthralling fairytale heist-vibes" is how this preview struck me. I really enjoyed the sneak-peek chapters of this book! I'm always wary when there are multiple "monsters" in a plot, but the author manages to pull it off. The pacing of the chapters was perfect, and the 8 chapters went by in a heartbeat. I enjoyed the world-building, particularly how well they reintroduced backround detail on the main characters, Kierse and Graves. Given this is a sequel - I always appreciate subtle recapping! I sense an enemies to lovers plot.. and uh-oh - there's only one bed in the apartment!

I have not read The Wren in the Holly Library yet but it just moved up to near the top of my TBR after reading this preview for The Robin on the Oak Throne! In just the first 8 chapters there's more than enough tension and adventure to let me know this book is going to be a fun ride.

I was given an ARC sneak Peek copy of The Robin on the Oak Throne by K.A. Linde, and I am super excited for the 17th to be here so I can read the rest of this story.

I am team Graves all the way.

Book 2 starts with Kierse in Paris at the Queen of the Nymphs' palace, and she is...you guessed it...stealing an invitation to get into the palace to steal a bracelet for the goblins as a way to gain access to their market for information about herself.

Graves shows up just as she is about to be caught, and he saves the day....

This duo is back together 5 months after book 1's ending, and you can feel the love from these two in the pages.

I'm eager to read what happens next. Will Kierse forgive Graves? Will they live happily ever after? Will there be a book 3?

Thank you, NetGalley, for allowing me to read this. I am now counting the days until the 17th.
