The Carters: Next Generation Book 3

Reeling from the savage murder of his younger brother Dylan, Damien Vickers wants answers. His first stop is the notorious Carter family. Tommy Johnson - AKA Tommy jr - was banged up with Dylan and saw the murder happen. So Damien is going to make him talk. Tommy jr wants answers too. Dylan's murder was savage and Tommy is certain that there's more going on. But Jonny Carter warns Tommy to steer clear. The Vickers family are bad news and Jonny's worried that getting mixed up with them is a sure way to bring trouble to their door. Damien and Tommy don't care. They make an uneasy alliance, digging into the truth. And the deeper they go, the more they realise Dylan wasn't the man they thought he was.

This is a gritty and gripping gangland crime book which has well-developed characters, secrets, betrayal and lies. Damien wants to know why his brother was killed in prison. Dylan's murder has been savage.Tommy jr thinks there's more going on, but he's warned to stay away by Jonny Carter. This is a fantastic addition to the series.

Another absolutely brilliant addition to this gangland series featuring the Carter family. A gritty read that doesn’t pull any punches this had me totally hooked from page one. Damien Vickers wants answers after his brother Dylan is murdered whilst in prison. Tommy Carter was there and Damien is convinced that he knows who was responsible so pays him a visit……. Fast paced and easy to follow this has colourful well described characters, tension, family dynamics, secrets and betrayal making this hard to put down! Book 3 in the Carter’s series although the story involves a lot more than just them as we are introduced to new characters and re meet some others,as with most Series’ especially family based ones it is best to have read the previous books so you know what has alreasy gone before but saying that this can be read as a stand alone

A slow burner start where the stories are being introduced and many characters meant I had to think who was who and make sure placed them correctly both things fine and didn’t hinder my enjoyment in any way

And then the action started and as I have come to expect from this author once started it didn’t stop, brutal, harsh and very real at times, there was also times of family bonding over a ‘wrong ‘un’ with scores being settled and relationships torn apart….and a few rebuilt plus a look at addiction and how it ruins lives and not just the addicts

Once you are in the action its hard to stop as the story then does not lose pace and carries on to its raw ending and then sets you up for the next book

I love this Series and all the authors books, true gangland that keep you there reading

A very good gangland thriller, set in London, featuring the Carter and Vickers families and filled with plenty action and drama. The plotting is based around family ties, betrayal and jealousy. The characters are believable and book 3 in the series finds Damien looking for answers to his brother Dylan's killing in prison. Relax, buckle up and enjoy the ride as the author never disappoints.. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

Kerry, Kerry, Kerry …. Well yet again you have not disappointed!! It’s like getting together at a family reunion when reading one of your new books 🤭🤣. So many fantastic characters but I never seem to get confused and you always make some sort of reference during the book as well which is great!

I think I have read most of this authors books. So if you love a bit crime, definitely check them out.

Thanks Netgalley, Rachel’s Random Reads, Boldwood Books and of course Kerry Kaya herself!

Kerry sure knows how to write a gritty, fast-paced gangland crime thriller. The feuds in this instalment are as brutal and gruesome as ever..
The way the families we've come to know from earlier books are weaved together is spot on.
Some characters you love and some you really dislike, some you know you shouldn't like but just can't help yourself.
You are pulled in and made to feel part of the rollercoaster ride through every twist and turn and betrayal.
The ending sets the stage perfectly for what's coming next, and I can't wait because once again, we are left wanting more.
I've been a big fan of Kerry Kaya from the very beginning, and it's been a pleasure to read each of her books.
Really can't recommend enough.
Thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the Arc.

Dishonor by Kerry Kayra epitomizes the saying ‘There's no honor among thieves.
The story has characters you love, and some you're scared of crossing. Each character is finely developed and definitely flawed.
But it is the crime boss families in England with all the dirty dealings and the mafia-type family conniving that held me in thrall.
Don't ever Dishonor the family.

Wow. Wow Wow. Dishonour is an absolute gem of a read that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. The story grabbed my attention and interest quickly and just didn't let go. If you like gangland crime books then in my opinion this is right up there with the best! It has everything I like - brilliant writing, a great plot, characters I either loved and rooted for or loathed and just hated. Damien Vickers wants to know who wanted his brother dead in prison and Tommy Jr Johnson from the notorious Carter family can give him answers. Is he prepared for what he uncovers and what are the consequences for his family? This is such a moreish read that I've devoured in just over a day. Kerry Kaya certainly knows how to weave a great story that is full of suspense, thrills and mystery and Dishonour really hit the mark with me. The ending sets up the next book perfectly and I'll definitely be looking out for it. One of the best books I've read this year.

Gangland feud at it's best. Twists and turns throughout. Gruesome in places but it really set the atmosphere.

Would make a great film.

Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this book.

Yesterday, I got to do a happy dance again, because a new gangland crime novel by this amazing author was waiting for me.

In gangland crime, I distinguish between two categories. On the one hand, there's what I call the softer genre, where it's still about power and money, but with less violence involved — the “warfare” plays out more in power games. On the other hand, there’s the grittier version, where punches are thrown left and right, but where cunning, manipulation, and bribery still play a major role. If I have to choose, I go for the second group. For me, gangland crime is about soft cores wrapped in tough exteriors, willing to do anything for family — whether it's bound by blood or not.

Luckily for me, this author chooses to write my favorite kind of gangland crime. :)

I can only say this was yet another fantastic installment in an already perfect series.
The Carters and the Vickers are two families who each rule a part of London, and due to circumstances, their paths cross. What could possibly go wrong...

Once again, this book shows how good some people are at putting on a performance and only revealing their true nature under certain circumstances — deceiving everyone around them. Who can you truly trust?

Acts of self-interest, backstabbing, and jealousy are some of the ingredients here, but there’s also room for reconciliation, fresh starts, and even love. I can’t stress enough how much I enjoyed this book. 5 stars.

Thank you

I absolutely devoured this book in less than 24 hours. I have read all Kerry Kaya's books and this one lacked an almighty punch. I would recommend reading them in order and not as a stand alone. It's better to be engrained with the families to understand their dynamics.

Full of twists that I never saw coming, a fantastic read.
