When I saw that I could be an ARC for this book, I ran! I was so excited to be able to get my hands on this early.
My followers on instagram may know that Davis is one of my favourite thriller authors, and I binged her books earlier this year.
I loved this book from the get go, the husband gave me the creeps right from the beginning, he was so well written about and he was described perfectly. Again, as normal, all the characters were wonderful!

Just Wow!!
This was not the first book I have read by L.G. Davis so I was expecting it would be really good but I admit this book blew me away.
When I saw this book was being offered by Netgalley as an ARC I immediately requested it and I'm so glad I did . I loved the book from cover to cover and truly didn't want to put it down. It took me literally 2 days to finish it and that was because I did actually have to sleep at some time .
Every time I thought I understood who each character was the author threw a curve ball and we were taken in a different direction which made the story all the more interesting.
So here is my honest review . Thank you to #NetGalley and #Bookouture for this great ARC . I give the book 5 stars and know everyone looking for a great Psychological Thriller will love it also.

Cora wakes up from a coma and learns that she had an accident and suffers from amnesia. She’s surrounded by people she’s supposed to be close to but she doesn’t recognize any of them. There’s her husband so caring and patient (the pet names are nauseating), her husband’s aunt who suffers from dementia, and a caretaker. She’s uncomfortable and since we’re living through her point of view so are we.
I was a bit worried that this book would use the overused trope of « man kidnapped woman and is making everyone believe that she’s his wife », in a way it does use that trope, but with a twist. Several twists actually.
I liked Cora a lot, she’s sharp and caring. A bit too sharp sometimes because she keeps putting herself into risky situations. Evan, the husband was a red flag from the start (the men always are in domestic thrillers), so nice, too nice. He always has an answer for everything and he never leaves Cora alone for too long. Since we only see them through Cora’s point of view, I was suspicious of pretty much everyone we meet, rightfully so because in the end everyone had something to hide.
I’m gonna be honest, the first twist was disappointing, too easy and it left too many questions in the air. I like to suspend reality when reading a thriller, but not that much. Thankfully the following twists make up for it, it’s still a little bit too crazy to be realistic, but in a fun and satisfying way. I LOVED the ending. It was dark and unexpected.

Title: Not His Wife
Author: L.G. Davis
When “Cora” wakes up with no memory after a terrible accident, her husband Evan tells her they’re happily married — but something doesn’t feel right. His aunt warns her to leave, and Cora quickly realizes she can’t trust anyone... especially the man claiming to love her.
From the very first page, I knew this was going to be a wild ride. 😱 Twists, suspense, and shocking reveals kept me flying through the chapters. I never knew what was coming next!
This psychological thriller was gripping, intense, and totally unputdownable.

Not His Wife by L.G. Davis (Publication Date July 15)
OMG is all I can say. She is my new fav thriller author because wow. This is the second book I’ve read from her and I am blown away! Her writing is so easy to read and I never want to put the book down. I am always captivated from the first few pages. I finished it in about 2 days and I kid you not, it was all I thought about. This psychological thriller has SO many twists that I literally did not see coming. I was being hit with twists left and right.
It’s written in two different parts with two diff POV which I loved because we get to see both sides of the story. Since It’s a psychological thriller, I was second guessing myself about everything and at one point, I freaked myself out! The MMC was so well written that I literally could not tell if he was a good or bad guy. I kept switching up on him in every chapter. I also like the side characters because it all ties into the story very well. Overall I just loved it so much!
Pleaseeee add this to your TBR because I promise you are in for a ride. This is my type of thriller books!

This was one of my least fav books by LG Davis. I normally eat up her books but this one fell short for me. I had a hard time getting into it and finishing it.

RATING: 4.5 ⭐️
I don’t even know where to start — I’m still in shock after finishing this book. This was a smart, twisty thriller that kept me hooked until the very last page.
It’s true that I haven’t read many thrillers in my life yet, but I feel like this one has definitely earned a spot on my favorites list. The twists were absolutely mind-blowing, and just when I thought I was starting to put the pieces together, a new twist would hit me — and even my wildest theories didn’t come close to the truth.
I loved how the author went into detail about important things without ever overdoing it. The emotions of the characters were so vividly described that I could clearly picture them in my mind — sometimes so clearly it was a bit scary! I especially appreciated how the author didn’t overwhelm the reader. New characters and plot elements were introduced gradually, keeping every page engaging and making sure the story never felt rushed.
The characters were wonderfully portrayed and perfectly fit the tone of the story. The author also did an excellent job conveying body language, which really added depth to each scene. It was such a relief to finally read about a female protagonist who wasn’t overly dramatic, didn’t rely on anyone, but instead was driven, trusted her instincts, and boldly followed them. I also loved that she wasn’t afraid to dig deeper into things — her curiosity pushed her actions forward and uncovered every little detail.
Evan’s character was also very well written — he acted just as someone in his profession would, playing his cards carefully when dealing with Cora. It was fascinating to see how he handled different situations and tried to turn things to his advantage.
The story tied everything together beautifully, answering all of my questions. Even when I thought I understood something, the book always proved me wrong — either by showing that things weren’t possible the way I imagined, or by giving me a new perspective.
The only reason I took off half a star was because of the beginning. The first half felt a bit slow to me, with only a few intense moments, and the focus was mostly on the general setup and buildup.
However, from the halfway point, the story really got fast, and I was fully hooked. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, wondering how it would all turn out. I suspected the final twist, but the way it was executed still managed to surprise me — and that was a huge positive for me! It was nearly impossible to predict. Just when I thought everything had wrapped up and I was coming to terms with the ending, the real shock came — and the epilogue added an extra punch on top of that.
To be honest, the final outcome was a bit of a disappointment for me — but not because of the story itself. It was just a personal taste issue, so it didn’t affect my overall rating. I think it’s simply harder for me to adjust to this genre after reading so many romantic novels.
Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for providing me this book in exchange for an honest review!

Oh my gosh!!!! I just finished this book. I think this is L.G. Davis best yet!!!
I have to say parts kind of creeped me out so I would of been done it sooner but couldn’t read it at night haha
There are twists and turns until the very last page!
Can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve next!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Not His Wife had so many surprising twists! Seriously, every chapter ended on a cliffhanger! This book was such an easy read and I flew through it!
Cora wakes up not remembering who she is. The biggest problem is she's in a house and supposedly married to a man she doesn't remember. On top of that, her husband's aunt, who has dementia, is living with them and keeps seeming like she's afraid of something. It's hard for Cora to know truth from lies.
Throughout the book, Cora keeps questioning her reality. She's smart and can tell her husband is lying about stuff, but she doesn't know why and can't figure out the truth.
I kept trying to predict what would happen throughout the book, but the ending shocked me! I pride myself on my ability to guess twists, but this one completely floored me in the best of ways!
The only reason I gave it just 4 stars is because the writing style was a bit simplistic and I typically like more of a picture painted. But the plot was epic!
I read this ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for the eARC! What a ride!

Cora wakes up from a coma after a terrible accident, only to find she doesn’t remember her husband or anything about her past. From there, the story unfolds into a gripping, fast paced psychological thriller that’s dark, tense, and full of secrets, lies, and betrayal.
The characters are deeply compelling and well crafted, pulling me in right from the start and holding me captive until the shocking finale. L.G. Davis expertly weaves twists and red herrings that kept me guessing the whole time I never knew who to trust.
As one of my favorite authors, I was eager to read this book, and it exceeded all my expectations. This is, without a doubt, my favorite of her novels so far!
A huge thank you to NetGalley and thr puplisher for the chance to read and review this fantastic thriller I’m excited to recommend it to everyone!

When Cora wakes up following a bad accident she has no idea who she is or who the man is sat by her bedside. He says he’s her husband and she’s safe at home after being in a coma but she can remember nothing of her life. As she slowly begins to build up her strength she finds out they are caring for his Aunt Mary who has Alzheimer’s but Cora is convinced there is something else going on as she keeps telling her odd things and is convinced that her friend Margaret is missing. As Cora sets out to find out what’s going on and what her husband is hiding in the basement ia she in more danger than she realises and could the truth be something she’s better not knowing! This is a dark claustrophobic read not to be missed!

An absolutely brilliant psychological fast paced thriller of a dead, tense and full of lies and deceit with great characters.
I was involved in the storyline from the very first page and couldn't read it fast enough, it just got better and better.
The ending was fantastic with everything brought to a satisfactory conclusion just great storytelling
Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this ARC which I have no hesitation in recommending.

This gripping story follows Cora Harrison, who wakes up after a terrible accident… with no memory of her life. She’s introduced to Ewan, a charming man who says he’s her husband — but something just doesn’t feel right.
I truly felt for Cora the entire way through — the emotional depth of her character was so powerful. L.G. Davis did an amazing job building her up and making the reader feel everything right alongside her.
The book grabs you from the very first page — fast-paced, unpredictable, and filled with twist after twist. Every piece of the puzzle fit together so cleverly. Dark, intense, and completely addictive… I couldn’t stop reading.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Highly recommend to any thriller lover!

Wow—this book had me hooked from start to finish! I was constantly trying to figure out what was going on, and I loved that I never could. This was my first read by L.G. Davis, but it absolutely won’t be my last.
The story kicks off with Cora waking up in her home, completely unaware of who she is or where she is. Her husband, Evan, tries to help her piece together her memories, but from the very beginning, something feels...off. This fast-paced psychological thriller kept me on edge the entire time, and the ending? Completely shocking and unexpected.
I don’t give out many five-star ratings, but this one earned it.
Huge thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC. I can’t wait to recommend this to all my friends—it’s a must-read, and I’m excited to dive into more books by this author.

Thank you Bookouture and NetGalley for an early copy of Not His Wife. This was a hard book to get into, took very long and I wanted to not finish a few times. Try to get through the first half because WOW then it really picks up speed and makes your head spin!!!! The twists and turns in the latter half of the book is soooooo good. The epilogue is a terrific twist too. Great plot when you understand how it all comes together.

Oh my goodness what a rollercoaster of a read! It's 2:48am and I'm reeling over this one. WOW! A shocking, remarkable, wonderful thriller. Amazing story! I loved every page, so many twists and turns… Fantastic read, gripping story and so many surprises!

The first half of the story is told through only Cora’s POV and the last half is told alternately through Cora and Gabrielle’s POV. Cora is Evan’s wife. Mary, Evan’s aunt with dementia, lives with them. Cora wakes up at their house with no memories of who she is or what happened to her. Cora begins to suspect Evan may not be as safe of a person as he claims after she discovers things throughout the house.
There were many highly unrealistic situations in this story such as the way her release from the hospital was handled, Cora ignoring sounds coming form the basement that is completely off limits, and the secrets that Evan was hiding that were later revealed towards the ending.
Even though it was very unrealistic I still liked the book. I thought the plot twist about Gabrielle was super interesting and surprising. I also loved when Lina’s secret was revealed. I really liked how it was difficult to know which character to trust.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Oh holy smacks, LG Davis knocks another one out of the park! This was deliciously dark and twisty with so many red herrings I had no clue who to trust. This one gave me shivers and left my jaw on the floor. Fantastic characters and brilliant storytelling. Don’t let this one pass you by.
Thank you NetGalley, LG Davis and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this book.

L.G. writes psychological thrillers that are hard to put down. It is like putting a puzzle together. Everything fits at the end. There are plenty of twists and turns. Do not start this book if you have anything else to do.
