The Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Beth Moran is a heartwarming story about new beginnings, falling in love, finding a community to belong to, and two strangers meeting up in a very unexpected way
Mary, a co-owner of a hugely successful fashion company in Sheffield, escaped her old life, lives alone in the middle of Sherwood Forest, when she goes into labor. She meets Beckett, the taxi driver taking her to the hospital to have the baby. Beckett, a former medical student, is calm and dependable. When a snow storm makes it impossible to reach the hospital, Beckett locates New Life Community Church, where Mary gives birth. Beckett is a total cinnamon roll who takes care of people needing help regardless of their situation and at his own expense. He gave up everything to take care of his grandfather after he had a stroke. After seeing Mary's dismal home, he goes shopping and gets things for her and the baby. Not being prepared for this baby, no nappies, cot, or anything ready, Mary is forced to accept help from the people she meets that night. Soon, she’s made a host of new friends, making costumes for the Christmas concert extravaganza and developing feelings for Beckett.
Alongside the main story, we flash back to Mary’s old life in Sheffield; gradually learning what happened in her past to have brought her here. Beckett’s point of view and story are also shared, as he struggles to care for his Gramps. These complicated and sad back stories were both quite heart-breaking and moving; making me a bit tearful, with some of the unexpected revelations. As they struggled with so their numerous overwhelming challenges they grew closer as friends; maybe more than friends. The loving community in which they live has its fair share of unique characters, and their love and support never waver, despite all being strangers at first. By the end, you will definitely feel a part of this group of people and want to continue to live among them!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Mary’s journey to healing her heart thanks to a knit group of people and and unexpected friendship with Beckett was not what she was expecting when hiding away in a secluded cabin I the forests. But life has a way to surprise you with joy, friendship and love when you least expect it. Wonderful reading.

This was a totally adorable book that can be read any time of year. It opens with Mary giving birth and her taxi driver speeding along trying to find a place for her to labor. They stumble across the most amazing church filled with even more amazing people. By the end of the book I wanted to move to Sherwood Forest too. I stayed up all night to finish the book. That’s how much I had to find out how everything got resolved. Of course it ended on a very happy note!! Get yourself a gift of the book and a cup of tea and spend the best night of your life with this group of wacky people.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Beth Moran is the best book I have read lately. Yes, it reads as if improbable, which only serves to make this story of Mary and Beckett even more special. Definitely an uplifting story of two souls who needed some uplifting of their own. I loved the characters, falling in love with the new little baby from the moment he looked into Mary’s eyes. Could there have been a better place for this little one’s birth then at the New Life Community Church with members there with support, help and food afterwards?
From there the book continues to warm my heart while also expecting the other shoe to drop so to speak. Then it does, in ways I didn’t see coming. Expect an emotional, messy situation but also hope for the future. By the end, you will feel hope, believing that all is not left to chance in this world. Read today, I am so glad I did.

Firstly, thank you so much for letting me read The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year early.
Oh my, did I absolutely adored this beautiful Christmas story!
Marry is alone in a cottage, in the snow covered woods, to make things worse she is in labour, and waiting for a taxi to take her to hospital, her taxi driver beckett couldn't get her to the hospital.
During this beautiful story, we go through the ups and lows of all the relationships we go through during life.

I know I know before you say it’s only August, this is a book you want to get ready for your festive to read pile.
When Mary goes into labour little does she expect her encounter with Beckett her taxi driver will change her life so much.
I loved how Mary grows through the story from not knowing anyone thinking she’s alone to making friends and finding happiness. I can’t forget Bob and how he got his name 😂 my two boys were spud and squirmy which I do still use now.
A really sweet story about starting over with a festive feel, loved it 🥰
Thank you for having me on the tour.

This is a festive, feel-good story that is perfect to read on a cold December evening. From the charming small-town setting to the quirky yet lovable cast of characters, this novel is everything you want in a Christmas read—uplifting, emotional, and sprinkled with romance and humor.
Soon to be mum Mary finds herself in the throes of labour, three weeks early and in the middle of Sherwood Forest, where she knows no one and doesn’t have access to a car.
Grumpy Beckett has given up his career as a doctor to take care of his grandfather, Marvin after he suffered a stroke, He now finds himself driving a taxi in order to pay the bills and take care of his grandfather.
The two are brought together when Beckett arrives in his taxi to Mary to the hospital, but they don’t make it to the hospital, leading to a birth in a new life church, new friendships and romance.
Both Mary and Beckett are relatable and refreshingly down-to-earth, navigating life changes and family challenges with both vulnerability and strength. I loved Marvin and most of the supporting characters. It’s a great reminder that there is still that beautiful community spirit out there. It takes a village as they say. The balance of cozy holiday vibes with deeper themes of healing, forgiveness, and rediscovering joy is perfect. The slow-burn romance adds just the right touch of magic without overshadowing the story’s heart.
The only reason this isn’t a full five stars is that the pacing lags slightly in the middle, and a few moments felt a little too neat or predictable. But honestly, that’s part of the charm for a seasonal read like this.
Overall, this book is a lovely escape and perfect for anyone looking to get into the Christmas spirit with a story that leaves you smiling. I’ll definitely be picking up more from Beth Moran in the future.

This was a charming Christmas Romance story! I liked the dynamic between the main characters, Mary and Beckett. Mary struggled to care for her newborn while Beckett struggled to care for his senile grandfather. However, together they were able to manage things just fine. I also liked the community of friends they made along the way. It was a perfect cozy read!
Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

It's just me ....sneaking another Christmas read into my summer tbr - but you should know by now, that I love this whole season and just could not resist this front cover image and title.
This gave me all the feels with just a sprinkling of festive fun - but oh how I loved every second.
Fleeing a past she'd rather forget, Mary heads to the Forest and a new home that will give her the isolation she seeks.
But when her baby decides it's time to make an appearance, taxi driver Beckett comes to offer help, in more ways than either of them ever expected.
I loved Mary. Although her story unfolds gradually throughout the book, there's just something that really connects us and I was really hoping that she would get her happy ending.
Beckett was just the sweetest and definitely went to great lengths to support Mary.
I loved seeing their friendship develop over time.
I adored Gramps and loved that Beckett had given up his own dreams to care for him.
The writing style had me totally immersed. This was a heartwarming story full of friendship and hope.
The setting was perfect - I really felt part of the community whilst also having the space and peace of the forest.

It gives all the feels for Christmas. This is a new author for me. Wow what a first read of her books. I loved when Mary and Beckett first meet. It was like a movie in my head while reading this book. I definitely recommend this book.
Blurb.
Beth Moran Mary never planned to stop running.
With a past she’s desperate to leave behind and a baby on the way, she’s found a new home, deep in the forest, hidden from the world. But when the time comes to go to the hospital, she has no idea that Beckett, the quiet, steady taxi driver who braves the blizzard to reach her, will change everything.
As Mary adjusts to life with her newborn, she finds herself drawn into a local close-knit community she never expected to be part of. Beckett is always there – dependable, patient and offering a friendship she doesn’t know how to accept but slowly comes to rely on.
In a place she thought she’d only ever be passing through, Mary finally learns what it truly means to belong. And as Christmas approaches, she begins to believe that maybe, just maybe, she doesn’t have to do this alone, and that this could be the start of something wonderful...
Number one bestselling author Beth Moran writes stories packed with heart. Her characters become your immediate friends and you will feel uplifted after closing the final page. Perfect for fans of Jill Mansell and Jenny Colgan.

Beth Moran is an author who never fails to disappoint. A lovely book with a fantastic setting, which made me feel as though I was looking through a window and part of the story.

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year by Beth Moran is a wonderful wholesome romance which I really enjoyed reading.
Mary is the main character we meet as she’s running away from her past. She’s found a place to live deep in a forest. That’s where she wants to be so she.can heal away from people. But she finds that her unborn baby has other ideas!!
She goes into labour, a friendly taxi driver tries to get her to hospital in a snow storm. They end up in a church. Her baby is born.
I really loved the characters and especially Beckett, bless him!. He becomes a friend to Mary and becomes an important part of Mary’s life, after helping when she had her baby. He went above and beyond his duty as a taxi driver….
Can there be more? You’re going to have to read this book! You won’t be disappointed, as Beth Moran writes in her trademark style.
Many thanks to Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read this arc copy via Netgalley. My opinion is my own.

I loved this book. It is a slow-burn sweet romance with very likeable characters. Every new mum sould have a supportive circle of friends like this. The character of the grandad with dementia is treated with great empathy. It was good to immerse myself into the lovely world of this book.

A simply magical and remarkable story. The blinding of two troubled lives into a beautiful relationship is delightful. Mary has pain and heartache plus a newborn son and no friends when she hides away in a secluded house. Beckett cares for his stroke victim, grouchy grandfather and is living a time of worry and unflinching love for him. Their developing relationship is medicine for the heart and soul.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Absolutly loved this book, so heart warming and cute. It made me smile and cry. Love this author and it was like having christmas feelings in summer.

Thanks to the Publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I loved reading this book.
We meet Mary, she made friends with Shay and Kieren during her early years. They didn’t have much money to spend on the latest clothes in the same way as others did
So, Shay used to make changes to clothes so that they were in the latest style that they could wear.
When they left school, they started a company that designed clothes and they named it Shayk. Mary was the head of the company.
After the company had been established, Leo came to work for them and as time went on Mary fell in love . Leo was Kieren's brother. Her friends weren’t happy with the relationship, but Mary and Leo stayed together and got married. But, her friends as well as Leo withheld something about his health, Leo had an heart disease. Which meant they weren’t together long.
When he passed, Mary left everything behind and decided to start afresh in a new town and she arrived at a cottage in the woods, she was pregnant and her baby wanted to make his entry before he was due, without any transport and no one nearby, Mary called a taxi and she met Beckett, the driver. Her baby made his entry into the world in a church.
Mary slowly started to learn to take care of herself and the baby, with help from Beckett, who had his own worries regarding his Dad.
Mary, had help from others, especially those at the church and she finds that living how she is, she’s happy.
But what will she do when her friends track her down?
Will Beckett be just a friend?
I highly recommend this book.

Love Beth Moran books, and this one is the sweetest, cry worthy, loving book I've read so far. It felt like Christmas in August! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Mary is completely alone. She isn't due for a week or so, but she starts getting contractions and calls a taxi. She isn't prepared, she forgot her hospital bag, she is utterly alone and scared. Her taxi driver Beckett is very kind and empathetic and realizes that with the blizzaed and traffic, they won't make it to the hospital. So he finds somewhere clean and safe for her to give birth at a church. With the help of Yara and Beckett, her baby boy is born. Beckett takes her back to her shabby rental and does everything he can to help poor lost Mary.
A perfect cozy read that is about new beginnings, finding your old self, healing, resilience, and love from the community.
Thank you, Netgalley and Boldwood Books, for this ARC. All opinions are entirely my own.

Mary has run away to a run-down cottage in the woods when her baby, who isn't due yet, suddenly decided that he is due to be born now. Due to a blizzard an ambulance isn't available, so she calls for a taxi to take her to hospital. Beckett, the taxi driver, struggles to get her to the hospital and they end up going to a church instead.
This is one of those stories that brings out that White Knight emotion in me, with Mary desperate for help. Mary's background is gradually revealed as the story develops, explaining the reason for her running away. It is full of Christmas spirit, although it can be read at any time of the year, but is mainly about the power of friendship. The community that Mary becomes involved with are so supportive that I'd love to meet them in real life. It also covers coping with elderly relatives and the strain that it can cause, but also how important they can be in your life. Overall an uplifting story that I really enjoyed.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influence my review of the book.

Sweet, charming, and emotional.
I was immediately drawn into this very compelling story. The blend of emotion and humor makes this book so easy to read. Beckett, a good Samaritan taxi driver, happens to pick Mary up for transit to the hospital for the birth of her baby and Mary’s eventful birthing in a church, not being able to make it to the hospital in a blizzard. I loved the friends Mary and Beckett made at the New Life Church and how they became part of their journey.
Mary’s past is slowly revealed, and the more I learned, the more I understood her feelings of betrayal, confusion, and despair. Finding one friend was a miracle that helped Mary discover a whole new life. I fell for Beckett immediately. His strong desire to help others and the calmness he maintains during a crisis are his true strengths. As I got to know him more, I could see his vulnerability and inner turmoil. This book is full of good people who are imperfect and sometimes struggle with communication. It flowed at a beautiful pace, and I stayed captivated by these characters and their story. There was enough humor to balance out the more serious elements and keep the overall mood upbeat. I understand misunderstandings happen, and Mary and Beckett were not immune to miscommunication and non-communication. I loved the resolution and the overall good feeling I took from this story. I highly recommend this book. I see myself re-reading it every year.
