I absolutely adored this and loves the character of Rosie.
I came I to this series without reading any Megan Bannen and felt like I lost out a little on the story so will be picking up the first of the series

I received an ARC of this audiobook from NetGalley. When I say I ran to NetGalley and set up an account to request this book, I mean I RAN. I fell in love with this series when I read the first book. I have loved the all of the characters, but Duckers is probably my favorite. Rosie was hilarious and has no filter. I love a grumpy/sunshine. And the banter was great. For me to be as a good cozy read. Thank you NetGalley and Megan Bannen for letting me listen to this lovely book.

This was such a sweet romance and fun fantasy. Megan's books are a easy escape and I love this world so much. I read hundreds of romance books and this is the first time I've read one with a short man, more of this please! He was so hot. This book made me want to eat good food and buy fancy lingerie. Highly recommend.

Tanria is in danger and needs to be evacuated. A ragtag team works together to ensure everyone else is out, keeping the portals open as long as possible, before being trapped indefinitely. What follows is an emotional journey figuring out how to escape and be able to move on, while also holding on to what makes each person special.
I thoroughly enjoyed the novel, finding myself so happy to be back in the world Megan Bannen has created, with cameos from the other characters in the series thus far. The Undercutting of Rosie and Adam takes place after a considerable gap from the previous book, which took a second to reorient myself. However, once I was in, I was committed to finishing and see the story through. I felt the ending was incredibly perfect for Rosie and Adam, specifically, and loved it.
The narrators do a great job at bringing the story to life.
What is the point of living forever, if love is only temporary?

Yhe vocabulary of one of my favorite characters was dwindled down to "WTF" literally EVERY TIME HE HAD A LINE. In the first book, Duckers was really likable. His prominence dwindled in the second, and he had less of a personality. Now, in this third installment, all he has to say is "What the F***", I mean, WTF? And I really think the narration for this character made him sound incredibly unlikable.
I don't think the narration matched what we've previously learned about Rosie either.
With such hate listed above, I still enjoyed this and would continue the series if the author chose to. I did enjoy the ending, and I really liked Adam and Rosie's dynamic. My second favorite relationship after Hart & Mercy.

I absolutely adored this book. To be fair I have adored every book in this series. But Bannens characterization and unique world keeps me captivated. And this relationship is so tender— I loved being lost in this world.

I have been waiting for this book and Megan Bannen did not disappoint! As the title suggests it follows Rosie and Adam but they had a lot of the side characters that we love from the previous books as well. This book made me laugh out loud (do not listen to this while weight lifting at the gym!) and tear up. I did not want to put this one down. There was a beautiful slow burn and some very interesting turns that I didn’t see coming. If you are a fan of the first 2 books in the Hart and Mercy series then I think that you will really love this book as well.
The narrators did a fantastic job as well. Kacie Rogers was able to perfectly embody all of the characters and really brought them all to life and keep them all true to the character.

A wonderful finale to one of the best romantasy series ever! Megan Bannen is absolute magic when it comes to writing original, unique stories full of heart and hope. This had incredible pacing with just enough slow-burn and steam that anyone would enjoy it. Highly recommend this series to anyone!!

I think my favorite part of this whole series was the worldbuilding. Tanria, the mists, the gods, the mythology, even the autoducks, were such fun and complex ideas that really makes this series unique. I love how Bannen explored so many different parts of the world without ever leaving Eternity so we still get to see our favorite characters but the story still feels fresh and new for each book. I really enjoyed learning more about the astral plane and the Gods in this one.
Rosie was such a fun character and such a different FMC from Mercy and Twyla. I was so happy to see Duckers and Zetty back in this one. I loved the sibling like bond Duckers has with Rosie, they made such a fantastic pair. I love how much this series which started with two very lonely people has basically grown into a giant found family.
My main down side was the almost insa-love between Rosie and Adam. I think in the second half of the book the relationship is more developed, but it felt off for our longest living FMC to fall in love the fastest.
I also didn't really connect with the feelings of wishing for mortality that Rosie is struggling with, which did play a pretty large role in this story.
As this is the final book in the series I will miss Tanria and the dragons that throw up glitter.
Thank you to Megan Bannen and Hachette Audio, Orbit, and Netgalley for providing an advance copy of the audiobook.

2.75 stars - Story
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Narration
I wanted so badly to like this story but it was a struggle to finish this one. Honestly, if it wasn’t an audiobook I probably would’ve DNF’d
I absolutely adored the previous books in this series so I had high hopes for our return back to Tanria in Rosie and Adam’s story.
I’ll start with the things that I did enjoy. I loved seeing the dragons again and the glimpses into the past characters lives. I LOVED Zeddy’s return and would’ve absolutely loved if our MC’s were Zeddy and Duckers and we got an entire story of them. It was fun to watch their characters again but I definitely wanted more.
I think that the author did a really great job of switching the typical gender rolls (tall man and short woman) and showing how the perspectives and thoughtlessness of others has impacted Rosie as a 6 foot 5 woman.
I also really enjoyed the narrator. She did an amazing job bringing the characters to life.
Lastly, I really enjoyed the way that the ended. All of the characters throughout the last three books had their stories wrapped up beautifully.
Unfortunately, there was a lot I disliked about this book.
I felt no connection to the FMC and MMC. Our FMC Rosie was really annoying, I love a good no filter character but for a 150+ year old demigod the way she spoke was just cringey. I know this series usually thrives on its campiness and it’s honestly something I adored in the other books, but this one it felt forced and uncomfortable.
Rosie does have a lot of depth and I appreciate her candor, it’s fun and quirky but it just felt too over the top.
As for Adam, his character was like watching paint dry. I get why he is the way he is and I enjoyed seeing him find happiness. But, there was a complete lack of chemistry between Rosie and Adam that took away from their love story. It felt very insta-love which I don’t mind if it’s done right, this was just not one of those times.
The story itself really seemed to drag, it felt like nothing happened the majority of the book.
Overall, this book just really fell flat for me.
Thank you NetGalley for this audio ARC in exchange for an honest review

I really enjoyed this final book in the series. I will truly miss it. Rosie and Adam were wonderful characters and I was happy to see their HEA. The narrator was wonderful and did a good job keeping me invested. Overall a great book and audio.

I have absolutely loved the world and characters of Tanria since I read Hart and Mercy and The Undercutting of Rosie and Adam did not disappoint. This was such a sweet, funny, heartwarming book that gave Rosie her moment in the spotlight and gave such a beautiful cozy closure to the Marshalls of Tanria that we met in book 1, followed through book 2, and continued to love in book 3.

Yet another third instalment of a favourite trilogy being released this year and my god it was good! Keeping the same tone and feel as The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy and The Undermining of Frank and Twyla, this book focuses on Rosie Fox, an immortal demi-god that has popped up for brief appearances in the previous instalments but now takes centre-stage and her Tanrian Marshall partner - DUCKERS!! Thank god because this guy is the heart of the whole thing and always willing to give his friends a nudge if he think's they're being too shy or wilfully ignorant!
We pick up 10 years after book two and the dragon reserve in Tanria is thriving. Instead of corraling lost souls the marshalls are now mainly involved with general lawmaking and safety in the mist shrouded area, which after 157 years of life is wearing a bit thin to Rosie. Unfortunately the portals into and out of Tanria start having problems so it's time for Dr Adam Lee, inventor of said portals to come and sort out the problem! Hilarity ensues. Well not quite, but there are certainly plenty of laugh out loud moments in this book and I felt that Rosie and Adam's personalities played off one another really well. It was of course great to catch up with our other past main characters and see what they were upto after a chunk of time had passed, as well as get more of a background into the mythology of the Old Gods and New.
All in all I thought this was a perfect end to one of my favourite and hardest to explain fantasy trilogies in a while and I'm going to miss this world a lot!
The narration was really well done, I'd not listened to this narrator before but would definitely listen to other books voiced by them.

I was so excited to revisit the world of the Tanrian Marshalls, and the journey did not disappoint! I loved seeing characters from the first two books reappear in this story, and the uniqueness and intricacy of Rosie and Adam’s personal stories made for some very heartfelt moments. The narrators did an excellent job conveying Adam’s monotone personality and Rosie’s sass throughout the story. They also each did a great job voicing the other characters as they had dialogue. This was easy to follow along to and easy to listen!

Cozy, cute and so comforting.
This book felt like a warm hug.
I listened to the audiobook version and I loved the narrator. She captured the spirit of the characters perfectly.
Thank you Hachette Audio for this ARC!

4.5⭐🌶️
This book was absolute delight to read. I really like Rosie .she was absolute sunshine girl with little bit of daddy issues .Adam is stiff and mysterious. I love that she is taller then adam. It was cute. The side characters Ducker and Zaddy was incredible.
Plot was actually good. The last few chapters were really good. I loved it.The narrator really bring these characters to life. Variation in different characters voice was so good.
Thank you Netgallary and Hachett audio for the audiobook arc.

I really loved this unique story of found family, adventure and true sacrifice. Rosie was such a fun character and Adam was so sweet and selfless.

📖 Bookish Thoughts
This one didn’t quite deliver for me, but definitely wasn't a bad reading experience . I was just hoping for something a little more fun and romcom-y, with more of a fantasy quest vibe. The premise had potential and there were moments I enjoyed, especially the humor sprinkled throughout, but overall, it didn’t fully land. The pacing also felt uneven throughout the book.
I had a hard time connecting with both Rosie and Adam. Their romance, especially from Adam’s side, felt a little surface level and leaned into insta-lovey territory. I found the writing to be overly descriptive and repetitive at times. A large portion of the first half focused on Rosie’s frustration with immortality, and while I understand that was central to her arc, it started to feel like we were circling the same emotional ground. That said, I did really like Rosie as a main character. She was confident and had some genuinely funny moments. I just wish the humor that peeked through had been more consistent.
Do yourself a favor and listen to the audiobook! It was fantastic both narrators delivered and brought personality to the characters.
🧡What You Can Expect

I really enjoyed Rosie’s personality. She’s got sense of humor and heart, and I love the banter with the other characters, especially her cat. 🐈 Kacie did a great job narrating her and bringing out her ‘no-filter’ personality. Adam is a quiet, gentle soul and a classic brooding MMC.
The romance was a little too instalust for my taste. Rosie’s internal monologue spent a decent amount of time on her underwear collection and emphasizing how hot Adam is. 👙 However, I do think Bannen did develop the relationship more in the second half with deep conversations and sweet moments between the two characters, and I appreciated how their relationship had developed by the end.
I did not read the previous books in the series before reading this one. While I think it does work as a standalone, reading the other books would have made the world more fleshed out, and I think I would have felt more emotional connection with the side characters.
Thank you to Megan Bannen and Hachette Audio, Orbit for providing an audiobook. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

I liked this but didn’t love this!
I would recommend reading the other 2, everyone’s says that’s not needed but it really is to understand the world. Plus if so you will appreciate the side characters so much more.
Rosie the little sas pot is great and Adam and is seriousness they both complement each other so well!
I feel like there was a bit of info dumping at the start that made me really lose interest.
But then the last 25% made up for it l!
Would I read again? Probably not
Did I like it? It was ok!
Would I recommend? Not really, well I would but it wouldn’t be at my top of recommendations!
Thank you for the arc in exchange for an honest review!
