Beautifully, hauntingly written, each and every individual story - that, and they all transport me to a time and place that I've yet to encounter in previous reads.

Sharmini Aphrodite’s The Unrepentant is a fiercely original novel that doesn’t flinch. It weaves the personal and political into a narrative that is both poetic and provocative. The story grapples with themes of womanhood, rage, and redemption in a voice that is as lyrical as it is uncompromising. At times the nonlinear structure can make the story challenging to follow, but Aphrodite’s prose keeps you anchored. This is not a gentle read, but it's a necessary one—unapologetically bold and deeply affecting.
