Unfortunately, I didn't love this as much as it thought I would. I wish it had the same vibes from the first book. Still, an enjoyable reading experience.

I was really hoping this series would return to the pace and style from the first book which was a classic chase thriller in space with bits of Culture-esque character building and scene writing. And then the second book introduced a major group that I found uninteresting and kind of stupid. The third book isn't better as every one is either getting caught, exposed or bickering while no one of note really grows. The final conflict is resolved with a hand wave and the final chapters give everyone a send off of sorts but the most important send off is bitter and unfulfilling. I really wish the author had never written the final two books as it really diminishes the brilliant first book.
