Short story about Millie & Enzo’s wedding, doesn’t go into much character development or plot. Quick listen. Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advanced audiobook copy for a honest review.

For a short story (48 minutes audio), this still felt too long.
Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the ALC. I don’t think it would be fair to the narrators to say I didn’t like the audiobook. Freida’s writing is for plenty of people, but I’m ready to admit that I’m not one of them.

First off, I have not read the Housemaid series yet. I guess that was silly on my part but, the short story was written in a way that I was able to follow the story without the other books. The audiobook is quite short at 1 hour 44 minutes. The dual narration is always helpful to me when visualizing the story. Freida tells a story with a quick pace which keeps my attention. I plan to read the other books in this series as I have heard such great things.
Thank you Net Galley, Freida McFadden and Dreamscape Audio for the opportunity to preview this title. The opinions shared are my own.
The Housemaid's Wedding audiobook is expected to be released June 24, 2025.

This was so good! I enjoyed the glimpse into the wedding. All the emotions and worrying. He was so supportive, and loves her so much. I mean, I know the relationship is flawed, but come on, they are cute together lol. The Last scene in the bathroom, he loves her for sure.

I’ll start with I am a huge Frieda McFadden fan. There have not been many full-length books of hers that I haven't liked. The Housemaid's Wedding is not a full story; this is very short, and I struggled to enjoy my time with it.
I love the housemaid series and both Milie and Enzo, so I thought learning about their wedding day would be fun. I think the nature of the story and the length just left a lot to be desired. Although an attempt was made to build suspense, there was really none. Millie is threatened on her wedding day and receives phone calls saying she will be killed. Sounds great, but she just kept going about her day, and the suspense did not ramp up.
Millie and Enzo get married, and then we are left with an epilogue to clean up the main conflict. It just seemed like an odd choice to me.
I am always glad to receive more stories from Frieda, and I'm happy to spend more time with Enzo and Millie. I wish the time were worth it.

Another great Freida book! The narrator for this book was excellent and I feel like fit so well.
Millie and Enzo are getting married. But someone is trying to make sure that may not happen or that something may happen to Millie that isn’t good.

Thanks NetGalley for the ARC of this audiobook. I’m a big fan of this author and this series. I’m not quite sure if this book was needed. It almost killed the entire story for me because it was super underwhelming and unnecessary. I wasn’t entertained. I had to remind myself that this book is just a short story and don’t judge it heavily.

The Housemaid’s Wedding
The Housemaid #2.5
Freida McFadden
This is a short story written to hold readers interest between book 2 (The Housemaid’s Secret) and book 3 (The Housemaid is Watching.)
She and Enzo have been attempting to pick out names for their baby. So far, they haven’t been about to come to an agreement. Enzo suggests Violet and Millie suggests Cyan. They decide to put names on hold until after the wedding.
The ringing of the phone wakes Millie up on their wedding day. An unknown male is speaking with Millie. He threatens to kill her. At first she doesn’t seem to take him seriously. His next phone call promises she will be covered with blood. The third call has knowledge of what she is doing. Someone was watching her. She doesn’t want to tell Enzo.
Millie’s baby bump has grown. Her beautiful blue dress will not zip. Enzo to the rescue! He knows a tailor that can fix the dress. They arrive at the courthouse and are waiting for her parents to arrive, but they don’t. Millie’s mother calls and explains they are not coming. Millie has been in too much trouble over the years. Of course, Millie receives another threatening call. She still withholds the information from Enzo.
After the wedding, Enzo approaches a man he noticed had been following them all day. He warns him to stay away from his wife and unborn child. He reinforces his words with a bit of bloodletting.
I am not familiar with the Millie and Enzo series, so it is a little difficult to review this short story. The characters: I could help but feel for Millie, I suspect she has had a rough time. She lacks communication skills; she might want to work on them. Enzo seems to genuinely care for Millie and the baby. Her parents, I don’t like them. Millie reached out to them; she wanted a relationship with them, and they threw it back in her face.
This short story is ok; I give it 3 stars. For me something seemed missing. I did not see this as a thriller.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. My reviews are my personal opinions

3.5 rounded up
I realized only after claiming the audio ARC that this is a short story (not my thing), but as far as short stories go I enjoyed it.
Premise - our favorite murderous housemaid is getting married to her beloved Enzo and she has invited her estranged parents to attend the wedding. The ceremony becomes the least of her worries when she starts receiving threatening notes.
I would have preferred this as a full length novel with more depth, plotting, etc. but it was a fun little teaser in between full length Housemaid stories. I hope there's another Housemaid adventure in the books! The voice shines through as wonderfully here as always, even if the format is too brief for all the twists, turns, and development I love.
I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Edoardo Ballerini and Lauryn Allman. Allman is a star! She's forever the Housemaid to me (and I'm sure many other Housemaid fans) so it feels like coming home to hear her do a read.
Thanks, NetGalley and Dreamscape Media, for the audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

My Rating: 3.5 Stars!!
Millie “the Maid” Calloway is getting married to Enzo the man of her dreams, True there have been some bumps getting here but the day promises everything she has ever wanted.
There's only one problem:
Someone out there doesn't want her to live long enough to say vows.
Since this is ‘Short story is doesn’t have the typically psychological thriller twists.
We learn early on who is threatening Millie.
However, it was still enjoyable,
Additionally narrator Lauryn Allman has performed other Housemaid stories and it seems she is Millie. I also love Edoardo Ballerini! – He is always GREAT!
It is suggested that short story be read between books two and three ~"The Housemaid " and "The Housemaid’s Secret". I did read both and enjoyed them. I have Book #3 "The Housemaid is Watching" on my TBR list!
