This second instalment in the Phantom and Bishop series- Phantom's Favor revisits the detective work of Frank Phantom and Clay BIshop but this time their goal is to help Frank's friend and love interest Madison Veyne acquire an item in order to help prolong her mothers life.
(This, in turn, leads both men to battle various foes along the way in the hunt for a man known as "The Broker").
I found the pacing to be a bit slower than the first instalment although the plot kept me intrigued throughout the story.
The only drawback for me as a reader was that I found the ending to be a bit too convenient and somewhat rushed which, in turn led me to rating the book a 4 star instead of a 5 star.
Thankyou to Netgalley and Sterling and Stone for the opportunity to read the early arc of this unique and enjoyable series.

4.5 upped to 5
A urban fantasy series according to my heart: flawed characters on the grey spectrum, magic and intrigues, urban setting.
It's a gripping novel that kept me hooked and I thoroughly enjoyed. I think it must be read in order as I felt I was missing something at times.
The storytelling is good, even if there's some repetition at times.
As I enjoyed it got the first instalment and can't wait to read hte next.
Well done, highly recommended

So, I saw the blurb for this book, was seriously intrigued but then realised it was the second book in the Phantom and Bishop series, meaning I obviously had to go read the first.
What can I say, it was worth reading the first to get to the second! Phantom’s Favour explores more of the dynamic between Frank Phantom and his long term friend Clay Bishop, whilst they prove they’re more than just your average thieves.
I really enjoy the relationship between these two, I would like a bit more detail on their history and background into the antics that we get a glimpse of when they’re coming up with another daring plan.
We got to meet more characters from their black book of contacts but I’m kind of keen to see more of some of the ones we’ve already met. That being said, it was a great storyline, with enough twists to keep you guessing and while Phantom can be extremely coy about his thoughts and plans with the other characters, as a reader it would be nice to get a bit more insight into who Phantom is and what he’s really saying.
Great read, go check it out!

This is the second book in the Phantom & Bishop series. If you’ve read the synopsis you have the general idea for the book, but there is a lot more that goes on before they attempt to steal the book of favors and it is deliciously funny. In my opinion if you enjoyed the first book, you will probably enjoy this one too. It is a lot more subtle, but no less enjoyable.

I would like to thank the authors, Sterling & Stone and NetGalley for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and my review is voluntarily given. As always, I wish you happy reading!

I am having so much fun with this series - Book 1 was a charming little rip-off from Ocean's 11 in so many forms. Book 2 is where it starts to strike its path and away from all the Oceans comparison. The book is so wonderfully fast and reads like a dream. There is whole pitter-patter to and fro conversation that keeps driving this book

Phantom & Bishop take their own sweet time to get into the book with the first act a good means of setup. 50% is when the actual plot and heist come together and the rest is execution. The seedy underbelly of New Yorks underground is explored brilliantly as Phantom & Bishop make their way through their contact list. I did admit wanting a bit more in terms of the story stakes and how some of it ultimately played out for Frank Phantom. I would also like to know the cost of the magic - it feels a bit light on that front

I am loving this series and book and provides the right distraction needed and is a lot of fun!!!!!

I’d read the first book in the series and as always happens, I was excited to see this second one. This series really hits the sweet spot with my favorite genre, and I just adore Clay and Frank. They are a little morally gray, but I think they slipped a little over the line to good guys with this latest. There are a few reasons I like this series, and they are in no particular order: fun and amusing banter between Clay and Frank, how Frank and Madison’s friendship is developing, how engaging the writing is, and overall, how much I just enjoyed this latest (even more than the first). This is a great installment to the series, and I’m hoping there’s many more to come. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
