I loved this trip back to the Annual August Showdown, where the Ruinous Love crew take date night to the extreme to hunt down a serial killer… with a raccoon in tow. Very fun short story that has all the best parts of ruinous love.

Gross and violent and a funny, this book is a lovely little bridge between two series about killers who kill killers.

It was so fun to be back in Sloane’s head again!! And we get to see the whole family being chaotic and violent together and toting a (definitely not rabid but maybe opioid addicted) raccoon.

Don’t worry, your comfort foods are safe (for now), though you might see some old faves make an appearance

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Amazon Original Stories for the eARC!!

If Brynne Weaver writes it, I'm going to read it lol Such an amazing spoonful of frosting!! I've read the Ruinous Love Trilogy and fell in love...IMO you don't have to feel like you're missing out on something if you happen to read this one 1st.
Rowan and Sloane are the main focus (to get to know them better) but, all 3 couples are present and accounted for.
My suggestion: Read this, I promise you won't regret it!!

This novella was so fun. I loved seeing these murdery characters again and seeing them all interact with each other. It was told in Sloane’s POV but I would have loved if we got to see everyone else’s.

Must be read after the Ruinous Love trilogy as this bridges the gap between trilogies. I can’t wait to read Tourist Season!

Thank you to Amazon Original Stories and NetGalley for the ARC.

A short dive back into the world of the Ruinous Love Trilogy featuring all of our favorite couples and the one and only trash panda Barbara! This had exactly what I would expect/want from a bridge novella- references to the previous trilogy, some murder, and a spicy scene. Be forewarned- this is incredibly short, but if you are foaming at the mouth to take a dive back into the world prior to the release of Weaver’s newest book Tourist Season, this will hit better than a scoop of Cookies & Cream.

Thank you Brynne Weaver, Amazon Original Stories, and NetGalley for providing an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was such a fun novella to add to The Ruinous Love Trilogy! It was hard to say goodbye to that series, so this was such a nice surprise to get added to the series.

I was also so excited to be back in Sloane's head. While I loved all of the characters in the series, Sloane and Rowan were my favorite couple. So being back with her POV was so nice and now I want to reread Butcher & Blackbird lol.

If you loved The Ruinous Love Trilogy then this book is a must-read! You'll love being back with these characters and seeing them all join in on the annual hunt.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

The second I saw there was a novella in the Ruinous Love Trilogy coming out, I knew I needed in.

I love these characters and it was fun to be in their world again. It was short, sexy and to the point. A worthy little endcap to these character’s story.

Thank you to Netgalley and Amazon Original Stories for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

“Everybody’s gotta have a hobby, even if it is hunting the most wretched pieces of shit on the planet in a blood sport competition, and I intend to maintain my run as champion of the Annual August Showdown.”

I’ve missed Sloane & crew. This is short and quick, but we get to see the whole gang and have fun for one more August Showdown. It’s all from Sloane’s POV and a lot of fun with the usual banter and mayhem.

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. Decision to read/review was my own. Opinion is my own.

I have not read the Ruinous Love trilogy. I really enjoyed the characters and their personalities were charming. I loved Barbara the raccoon and reading this solidified my want to read the trilogy. However, I think this story did not have a real plot or direction. The concept of the competition made no sense (how was this even a competition?!). The end result was rushed and unsatisfying. I understand this is a short story, but it seriously lacked structure.

I liked the characters a lot, however, so I am looking forward to reading the original trilogy. Hopefully the plot is more cohesive than this short story.

Great to be back with these characters, this short novella had everything we loved about the ruinous love series,

Its jam packed into Sloane & Rowans annual hunt but with all the family involved, girls vs boys and while being told from Sloanes POV we got.to see snips of what made each character.

Thank you NetGalley & Amazon Original.

Once again Brynne Weaver knocks it out of the park, I loved being back in the Ruinous Love Trilogy again with Sloane and Rowan and for a short novella this was really fun! To have all the characters from the trilogy together, and Barbara and then a little spice at the end was top tier entertainment.

A perfect little treat!

It may be a little deranged, but I was so happy to be in Sloane's head again and this is exactly what I needed after being a little disappointed by Scythe and Sparrow. This is essentially an expansion/continuation of the S&S epilogue and it was so great to get to spend just a little bit more time with this goofy, murderous found family.

It's Brynne Weaver, so check the trigger warnings, but if you've read the rest of the trilogy, you know what to expect and this is pretty tame in comparison to the full length novels.

A great little bonus after the end of the Ruinous Love Trilogy and it made me even more excited for Tourist Season!

Thank you Amazon Original Stories and NetGalley for the arc- all thoughts my own!

GOOD GOD I HAVE MISSED THIS WORLD!! Rowan and Sloane remain the absolute winners of my heart in this series. Their dynamic is perfection. Brynne Weaver knows exactly how to have you giggling, gagging, and kicking your feet <3

Love and Other Killers was a fantastic read! I’ve been missing my favorite couples from the Ruinous Love trilogy, and reading this novella felt like visiting old friends!

At the start of the story, the three couples (and Barbara) have banded together for their annual competition hunting a big bad, who lives at a chicken farm. It is told through Sloane’s perspective and is funny, spicy, and kind of gruesome.

I loved that this short story bridged the gap between the Ruinous Love and the upcoming Season of Carnage trilogy. I am so excited to read Tourist Season!

This was a fun, quick read. I loved being back with all the main characters of the Ruinous Love trilogy for one more little adventure. And I’m still obsessed with Barbara, so I’m glad she was included! I’ll be interested to see if this was a setup for a character we’ll see in Brynne Weaver’s next book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Love & Other Killers was a fun (and murder-y) novella featuring all three couples from the Ruinous Love Trilogy.

Although a quick read, it left me even more intrigued about Autumn. I really hope she gets her own book.

Lindo y divertido!
Es una novela cortita donde incluyen a las 3 parejas en la cacería anual que hacen los protagonistas del primer libro.

This was such a wild ride in the best way. Think dark romance meets true crime podcast energy with a morally gray love interest you absolutely should not root for but totally do anyway. The tension was unreal, and the chemistry? Off the charts. I loved how the story kept me on edge without going too heavy, and the main character had that perfect mix of smart, sassy, and emotionally wrecked. There were a couple moments where the plot got a little over the top, but honestly, I was too invested to care. If you're into dark romance with dangerous vibes, sharp banter, and a storyline that keeps you guessing, this one delivers.

I love the Ruinous Love trilogy and was so excited to see this come up on NetGalley! It was so nice to be around familiar characters again. I especially missed being in the head of Sloane, so this hit just right for me. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer!

Thank you to Amazon Original Stories and NetGalley for a copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Absolutely loved this novella! It was the perfect addition/ending to the Ruinous Love trilogy and bridge to Cape Carnage. Set directly after Scythe and Sparrow, you join the Kane crew for Rowan and Sloane's Annual August Showdown. I loved getting to spend more time with all the characters, ESP Barbara who had me cackling every time she was on the page.
