Typical me reading books out of order? Absolutely. Have I read The Ruinous Love Trilogy? Nope. Did I just spoil the ending after their happily ever after? YES. AHAHAHA.

But honestly, this novella was such a fun, fast-paced read, and it definitely piqued my curiosity. Now I need to read the entire trilogy ASAP!

Greta novella for fans of the Ruinous Love Trilogy! It continues the annual competition between Butcher and Blackbird, so it delivers lots of funny and dark moments. You can technically read as a standalone, but I don't think it would be that enjoyable if you don't know the background. Could be good as a sampler to see if you'd like the series (as long as you don't mind spoilers (couples and minor))

Thank you Brynne Weaver, Amazon Original Stories, and Netgalley for providing an e-ARC for review. All opinions are my own.

I've enjoyed every book from the Ruinous Love trilogy, and this novella was no different. I loved being able to spend some extra time with characters that I already love for a short story while the characters are up to their usual antics. Since finishing Scythe & Sparrow, a certain character was mentioned, and more small details were revealed in this novella about them—I already had a strong suspicion they'd be getting a book, but I feel like this novella further confirmed it, and I can't wait to see where their story goes.

Brynne Weaver doesn’t ever disappoint when it comes to her books. My only complaint is that it’s over already. We need more!!

Thank you NetGalley for a chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

*♡Thank you to Brynne Weaver and Netgalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion♡*

I don't know how she does it, but Brynne has managed to pack in one hell of a story into only 60 pages. It was so much fun getting to spend a little more time with the Sticker Bitch Crew and the Lachlan brothers.. and Barbara too 🤭
Love and Other Killers is full of the banter, murder and spice that I have come to expect and love from the Ruinous Love trilogy, and the fact that is is a bridge to take you from those stories to her next trilogy, Seasons of Carnage, is a work of genius.
If you loved Butcher&Blackbird, Leather&Park and Scythe&Sparrow, you don't want to miss this!!

This was a fantastic short novella featuring the gang of serial killer found family that we know and love so much! They are SO funny as usual and I loved being able to see then get back into their crazy antics again!

Thank you so much for this ARC opportunity!

A quick, funny short story!

Nice reminiscence, while waiting for the new Weaver book, why Butcher & Blackbird worked so well.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the early review copy.

Brynne Weaver thank you for giving me this fix that I’ve needed since Scythe & Sparrow🫶🏻
This family of serial 🔪may be unhinged but they make me laugh and that chemistry and spice between the couples scorches me so good every single time 🔥🥵♥️

Thank you to NetGalley and Amazon Original Stories for allowing me to receive an e-ARC of this book before release!

Brynne Weaver is a very popular author. I've heard her name everywhere, but I’ve always been a little too nervous to try her work. When I saw this short story, I thought, Okay, this is my chance. Then I read the trigger warnings (which usually stop me in my tracks), but today I decided to push through.

Maybe I should’ve done a bit more research first, because I quickly realized this short story ties into the Ruinous Love trilogy. That said, I still enjoyed it!

As someone who hasn’t read the trilogy, I think this works well as a “test the waters” story—especially if you’re curious about Brynne Weaver’s writing style or the types of relationships she explores. I was able to follow along for the most part, and I actually liked the dynamic between the characters. It’s definitely made me consider picking up the main novels.

Fair warning, though—if you haven’t read the trilogy, you will likely be a bit confused. I know I was, especially when a certain character showed up who I’m pretty sure plays a major role in one of the trilogy books (but someone correct me if I’m wrong!).

Thank you again, NetGalley and Amazon Original Stories, for the early copy! I’m glad I gave it a shot.

I absolutely loved the Ruinous Love series, and this novella was such a fun reminder of everything I enjoyed about it. Seeing all the characters together again with their fun dynamic, competitiveness, and the crazy competition they get caught up in was such a treat. Honestly, it made me want to drop everything and reread the whole series. I can't wait to read her new series!

Love and Other Killers is a short and fun novella following all the couples of the Ruinous Love Trilogy during Sloane and Rowan's annual hunting game. While all the characters make an appearance, the novella is told entirely from Sloane's point of view. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it made it feel more like a novella about Sloane and Rowan, versus a novella about the entire family (which is what I was expecting). I also thought the surprise visitor (stalker?) was a bit random, felt out of place, and wasn't totally addressed, which bothered me a bit. But all in all, this was a classic Ruinous Love Trilogy book: full of banter, murder, hijinks, and a bit of spice. If you loved any/all of the books in the trilogy, this novella is for you!

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!

5 Stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love Brynne Weaver’s humour so much and this novella is as much fun as I would expect from her. I have been lucky enough to read the ARC of her forthcoming novel “Tourist season” and this is the perfect short story to read before starting it. Absolutely no spoilers but the importance of some things that happen in the novella will become clear once you read Tourist Season.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Amazon Original Stories for the opportunity to read this ARC.

I absolutely LOVED this novella! if you love Butcher and blackbird the way I do... you will DIE (see what I did there) over this...

its all from sloane's POV but you get everyone. All three couples, all dynamics, all the murder, all the fun.

This was the perfect ending to this trilogy and honestly it just made me love them more.

Honestly - I'll probably keep reading this over and over again when I find myself missing them!
