Love and Other Killers was an enjoyable return to Brynne Weaver’s world of morally gray characters and sharp, suspenseful romance. While it wasn’t my favorite in the series, it was still a solid read that kept me entertained from start to finish.
The biggest highlight was getting to see all the familiar faces again—those cameos were such a treat and gave the book that layered, interconnected feel fans love. The main couple had good chemistry, even if the romance didn’t completely knock me off my feet. It had moments of tension, danger, and banter that made it fun to follow along.

This is an ARC review. I want to thank Brynne Weaver and Amazon Original Series for allowing me the chance to read this novella! Anything that Brynne Weaver writes especially if it’s about the Ruinous Love Series I will read it!
Having all of our favorites join in on the game was just the best way to wrap up the families bonding time! Each person was highlighted and shown their own personalities. Somehow even in this short novella I was able to feel redemption for getting this sick man, laughter from all of their banter, pride from them owning who exactly they are, and sadness that this could all be over. I loved it and cannot wait for the next piece to read from Brynne Weaver!

I hesitate to say it was fun revisiting the world and characters Brynne Weaver established in her Ruinous Love trilogy, but damn if I didn't enjoy this story. It's as dark and sexy as the main trilogy, and it has me looking forward to the upcoming first novel in Seasons of Carnage.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this title.

what a fun little snippet into our favorite murder family. i'll never get enough of the Kane brothers and the Sticker Bitch Club.

ARC gifted by NetGalley for review.
Brynne Weaver does it again. It’s a quick glimpse of our found family after the events of books 1-3 and it made me so happy to see everyone together again, even if the… activities weren’t exactly kosher lol. And she didn’t ruin food this time!

I will spend as much time with these six unhinged lovebirds as the Canadian Goddess, Brynne Weaver, grants us. Love & Other Killers is a fast-paced novella set back in the world of our favourite vigilante serial killers - and it is an absolute blast! I think I had the goofiest smile on my face the whole time (maybe not the best mental sign when reading about a killing competition? Nah it’s fine).
Thank you Amazon Original Stories, Brynne Weaver and NetGalley for an advanced electronic copy in exchange for an honest review. Love & Other Killers will be released on Kindle/Amazon on August 12th.

Thank you to Netgalley and Amazon Originals for this eARC!
A not so short review for a short novella...
It definitely kept my attention. I read this to try and pick me up in the middle of the day and I certainly enjoyed! Sloane is my personal favorite character from this trilogy and I'm happy to see more from her point of view.
Did it feel unnecessary? Maybe, sure, but it was FUN!
I like the banter and the action scenes. Those were my favorite parts of the original three as well. I think Brynne Weaver does the best job with those.
The spice, while well-written and all fine and good, felt like it was just thrown in there to be there... but I suppose the same can be said for the whole novella, now couldn't it? The plot of the main trilogy is murder and spice and both those boxes were sure checked.
It was written for fun and it certainly served the purpose. I'm now even more excited for Tourist Season to find out who Autumn really is and what she's been up to.

Love and Other Killers is a brief jaunt back into the Ruinous Love world. The novella focuses on the characters we've met along the way as they engage in a competition to take down a mark. It isn't necessarily required reading, but would be a fun return for those who loved the main story. Brynne claims not to ruin any food in this one, but heads-up: there are some callbacks to those moments from the past. 😂
Thanks to Amazon Originals and NetGalley for an eARC of this novella for an honest review.

Love and Other Killers was my first book by Brynne Weaver. I thoroughly enjoyed Sloane's story. It was an interesting and unique premise. I will be recommending Love and Other Killers to my book club.

This was fun!! I really enjoy the dynamic between all the characters, adding that they are serial killers ist just the cherry on top. This story is for die hard fans of the series that just want to spend a little more time with the characters!
I absolutely 100% adore couples who still banter and bicker once they get together!
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for this arc!

Such a treat! Butcher and Blackbird et al are back for a quick, gory, competition amongst serial killers in love. Someone has to get rid of the real threats out there, right? This must never end ...

Love and Other Killers" by Brynne Weaver was one I really wanted to love, especially since I enjoy dark romance with morally grey characters. The premise of serial killers navigating love had a unique appeal and I can see why so many readers are hooked on this universe. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite click for me and I decided to put it down before finishing. The tone and pacing just weren’t matching my reading mood right now. That said, the writing style is engaging and I can see it being a great fit for fans of dark, suspenseful romance with twisted humor. I might even revisit it when I’m more in the headspace for something this intense!

Thank you to NetGalley, Amazon Original Stories, and Brynne Weaver for the advance copy of this novella.
Of course, I ended up reading this series out of order. When I requested this book, I didn’t realize it was part of a series and would help to have read the others first. The story was still fun and gave me a great taste of Brynne Weaver’s writing style.
I always enjoy a good dose of dark humor in my horror. I’ll definitely be checking out the rest of the series!

I love, even just a small taste, of being back in this world with these characters 😍 Anything Brynne Weaver wants to write, I'll be there!
This is a perfect stand alone novella, and is a great segue into the new series, Ruinous Love, which I have read the first book of and 100% recommend!
Thank you so much to Amazon Original Stories for the ARC via NetGalley and for giving me the opportunity to share my honest thoughts on this book.

Thank you Amazon for this arc!
Short, sweet and just enough to remind you how much you miss the chaos of the Kane family.
This is told entirely from Sloane's point of view, which I enjoyed.
There's even a special appearance from Barbara (on a leash!!!!)

This was such a cute novella wrapping up The Ruinous Love trilogy. I loved seeing all of the characters together & interacting happily. The cameos from Barbara were hysterical and one scene in particular left me cackling. There's not much plot here, but the vibes are great if you enjoyed this author's previous work.

This was a quick and fun read bringing back the serial killer family we love! I'm not super sure how this links to her next series but I am excited to find out. I would disagree a bit that you don't need to read the Ruinous love trilogy before reading this as it has a lot of references and would be quite hard to follow. The random appearance of one character from their past felt a little forced and left unanswered which is perhaps the intention but would be confusing for someone who is unfamiliar with the series. This felt a little rushed and missing background but it did the trick for a quick, family killing competition! It did successfully build up excitement for her next series and it was great to spend some time with her previous characters again!
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC all opinions are my own.

Another amazing Brynne Weaver story. I loved seeing all the characters together, especially Barbara. She is my spirit animal.

A perfect final glance into the Ruinous Love family. Brynne managed to weave the best of each couple into this novella. The banter, murder and love was everything I wanted and more. Also ending with Sloane’s POV really was the only right option as she was what hooked me in with Brynne’s writing. Also the glimpse given to what could be coming has got me chomping at the bit it for her next release 😍😬
Thank you to Brynne Weaver, NetGalley and Amazon original stories for the e-arc

Love and Other Killers is a short, punchy return to the world of Brynne Weaver’s dark romance universe. It serves as a novella that bridges the Ruinous Love trilogy and what’s to come next. For longtime fans of the series, it’s a treat to be back with familiar characters, full of the sharp banter, layered tension, and cheeky references we’ve come to love.
That said, this isn’t a story I’d recommend to new readers. Without having read the Ruinous Love trilogy, much of the context and emotional weight won’t land the same way. This isn’t an introduction; it’s a bonus. A fun, bloody, slightly chaotic bonus.
Because of its length, Love and Other Killers doesn’t deliver the same slow-burn satisfaction or psychological depth as the full-length novels. It feels more like a snack than a meal, entertaining and well-written, but not quite enough to scratch the itch Weaver’s fans know so well.
Still, if you’ve followed the series and miss the cast, it’s worth picking up. It sets the stage for what’s coming next and gives us just enough time in their twisted little world to leave us hungry for more.
