It took me a while to get into the book (still not totally convinced by Max's motivation to take off!). But once the journey began, I found myself being drawn into the scenic beauty that is India. Karan makes you breathe in the cold air, your eyes smart at the sunlight glinting off the snow and you feet ache after the long trudge across the mountain.
I loved the next part - the Yogi! The brutal weather, the harsh discipline of yoga and the scant food shape Max into the man he will become. I found myself rooting for him and willing him not to give up.
The last section, the Sage - is the toughest part of the journey, but it seems to end too soon, and a bit tamely. I became so invested in the character that I was surprised at the ending.
All in all, a good book that spans the magnificence that is India and the limitless knowledge that dwells within each of us.

Interesting read. Knowing so little about polygamy, I found the topic intriguing.
