I read this entire collection of stories over the span of a day because I simply wasn't able to put it down. These tales definitely aren't for the faint of heart. If you can think of something that pulls at the darkest part of the human psyche - the type of terrible thing that would keep most people up at night - it's probably in this book. The author's writing style reminds me a bit of Stephen King in terms of their candid treatment of horrific and downright terrifying subject matter. (And I love Stephen King, so make of that what you will.) These short stories were dangerously easy to read, but I have a sneaking suspicion I will be recalling them late into the night when shadows tend to move and every creak makes your heart pound.

I now 100% need to get my hands on the author's previous collection of short stories, "Silence in the Winter" and keep my eyes peeled for whenever they drop their next collection.

Thanks to NetGalley and author Silver X. Bishop for granting me access to a free digital ARC of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own and are provided here voluntarily.

A fine collection of short horrors/thrillers!
As to be expected with a book like this, I liked some stories more than others.
They were all well written and unique, nothing truly terrifying but all were unsettling and eerie.
When it comes to short stories I always find myself wanting just a little bit more, but that is an entirely personal preference.

I recieved an arc of this, I don't regret it. There are some really triggering topics for some, school shooting, sexual assault...please make sure you do your due dilligence of your own mental health
BUT

These are some decent short stories. I REALLY was left wanting more of them! They were all very immersive and I enjoyed how fleshed out they were for their length.

I read the first few stories and just couldn’t really get into any of them. Maybe the writing style just isn’t for me, but I didn’t find any of the stories very interesting and I don’t like the way they abruptly end. I might try to go back and read the other ones later because I really wanted to like these.

Whispers in the Spring is a good collection of well-crafted short stories. There were definitely some I liked more than others, but all of them were pretty good. A nice collection to dip in and out of if you're a horror fan.

A collection of well written short stories but nothing spectacular here. A solid body of work but I felt like I have read these stories or something similar before. Some of the stories I liked and some I didn't.

A great short story collection. Some I personally found better than others. Most including death/murder but enjoyable quick reads!
