Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for allowing me to listen to this ALC.
Chloe, an aspiring writer, is swept into the glamorous world of influencer Clara Holland, moving into her luxurious estate to help write her memoir. But as more girls join their lavish, curated lifestyle, whispers of a cult begin to surface. When a girl disappears, Chloe must confront the dark truth behind Clara’s charm before it’s too late. I really liked the university setting, it was realistic, especially in portraying how difficult it can be to make friends when starting out. That part felt very relatable. However, the rest of the plot and the twists didn’t quite live up to my expectations and left me a bit underwhelmed.

Narrator: Cassandra Harwood
Feedback: I really enjoyed her voice, overall narration and her accent, she brought a lot of personality to the story. However, I did notice frequent breaths being picked up in the audio, which occasionally pulled me out of the experience.

I actually need a sequel from Clara’s point of view ASAP.
Enjoyed the narration a lot. I was enjoying the book over all until I got to the last chapter and it absolutely gagged me.

This book was just okay. At some parts it was a little too slow for me but the last chapter was great! With starting it, I thought it was adult but then realized it was YA. My book club had mixed reviews on whether it was YA or Adult. Over all, this wasn't a bad debut but should be targeted towards YA readers.

This book was a really good read. The description peaked my interest, so I dove right in. Once I got pulled into the story, I couldn't stop. I loved a lot of the way the author wrote this story, especially hinting throughout via the main character, Chloe, that something was going to happen in the future. It was a fun read and I highly recommend adding this to your TBR!
