This one was not for me. Maybe it's for you?

I didn't feel the chemistry between MC and Nora. One of the earlier parts of them bonding is relayed as a summary of text conversations, so we didn't get to see as much of it as I would have liked.

TBH MC and Gabby should just take off together.

I Enjoyed this book. The character were really well developed. The plot was perfectly paced. The setting was wonderfully fleshed out and I felt like I knew this town, just by its wonderful description of small town life. It was a lighthearted escape novel, that gave me a few hours of distraction from life, which is exactly what I look for in a romantic comedy novel. I'm not familiar with this author but will definitely keep a watch out from more by her. I've already put the audio and book in carts for my library.

the audiobook was the only saving grace of this book and that’s how i managed to finish it because every single person in this book was a villain. there isn’t a single redeeming quality in anybody??? i’m astounded. this def leans more women’s fiction than romance because there certainly wasn’t anything romantic about this story and i had such high hopes for a sapphic book lovers comp

Second chance romance stories don't always hit the mark, but this one does. I enjoyed watching MC and Nora rekindle the spark they shared in high school, but never acted upon.

The characters and their relationship issues were all too real. It's a relatable experience in the sapphic community to have romantic tensions with a close friend, and even if those feelings are reciprocated, they are kept hidden. It was nice to see a story where the feelings remained, even ten years later.

Who didn't pine for someone in high school? And could it have been the girl next door? MC is about to find out when a book lands in her lap and sounds a bit too familar.

Sweet, cute, queer romance.

I liked MC, but the rest of the characters felt very hallow. It felt like there was too much going on in a way. I really wanted to like it, but it just fell short for me on execution.

The idea that an acquaintance from high school might use your life as the bases for their romance novel is so entertaining. It allows for the main character to reflect on who she used to be, who she is, and who she wants to be in a way a little different from most romance novels. And, the author of the fictional book is also the love interest which makes it even better. I loved how it also explored going home after things have changed a lot, and trying to figure out how to navigate adult relationships with siblings in a not so healthy and healthy way. Highly recommend!
