The Friend Request by Charles Soto was one I didn't enjoy the way I thought I would. I was intrigued by the idea of the book, but the fancy writing style and over descriptive text put me off. The multiple points of views didn't help much. I'm sorry, but this one wasn't for me.

When Carly was on her laptop she seen Chase and he looked the same as he did in HS only more grown up. Carly had only been on face book a few month catching up with old school friends Carly was nineteen when she had Caleb and all her energies had been used on raising him. Carly had tried dating but when the men met Caleb they just didn’t stand up to Carly. Carly was very protective of Caleb. After seeing Chase’s face it reminded Carly of her loneliness. Chase had sent Carly a friend request. Chase had been Carly’s first love and first lover. On prom night Carly blamed herself for Chase’s accident. An accident that took away Chase’s his baseball scholarship to Arizona State.Chase was always masculine and athletic, daring and bold when he was a teenager. But Chase was also kind with a strong mind and will. Caleb had the mind of a child, his father Ross didn’t care about Caleb or Carly. Chase is now a self made millionaire - a construction mogul. He is engaged to Heather who his older brother Sydney and business partner doesn’t like. Sydney sets up a face book account for Chase so he can reconnect with Chase’s first love Carly. Carly and Chase do meet up in San Francisco.
I liked this story a lot. I loved how Carly kept her son and was his defender in everything. How Carly loved and cherished Caleb and felt and told him that he was the best thing that ever happened to her. Even if it meant Carly had to be alone and lonely. Caleb was a very sweet add to this story you had to just love him. I was glad when Sydney set up the face book account if Chase’s name. And that Carly and Chase did meet up. All and all a very good book and read.It kept me interested from the beginning just should have been edited better would have made it easier to read. I loved the characters and ins and outs of this story and I recommend.
