This is a fascinating case and the way the author reveals the full story is absolutely incredible. The way he describes the events and then the ultimate resolution, including the full back story from Finley’s childhood, is a master class in anticipation. He spends a lot of time explaining two important things - the psychology behind the occurrences and the social context of the time, including the widespread terror linked to the serial killer, BTK. I can’t fault this as a study of a highly complex and unusual series of events. The author has recreated the world and people involved and places the reader firmly in the middle of it all.
