This series is centered on healer Ailis McAfee as all the books are centered on one of the daughters of the McAfee clan.Ailis is strong willed, independent, feisty, and talented. The only lad for her is Lachlan but not all family members agree with this so he has to show his worth to win the only woman he desires. Especially her Da the Laird. He wants her to marry a man, a despicable man from a neighboring Laird, not the man she desires.
Unfortunately Lachlan knows this other man is showing interest in the woman he loves who is wealthier and more suited for Ailis then he ever will be. Will he lose the woman he loves? Except Ailis gets kidnapped where alliances change. It has to do with politics and control. Will Ailis be saved and get the man she desires. Read and discover Ailis and Lachlan’s fate.
Any lover of Outlander, kilts, Scotland and all things Scottish will love this book! A book I definitely recommend. My first book by this au
Thank you Dragonblade and Netgalley for the eARC. I voluntarily agreed to do an honest, fair, review and blog. All words, thoughts, ideas are my own.

Highland Home is a fun, easy read with all the classic Highland romance ingredients—strong heroine, loyal hero, a bit of danger, and some love triangle drama. Ailis is tough and independent (think: knife-throwing healer), and Lachlan is the quiet, steady type who’s been in love with her forever.
The story has some nice moments, though a few parts are a bit predictable, and the romance could’ve gone a little deeper. Still, if you’re in the mood for something cozy with swords, swoons, and Scottish scenery, this one fits the bill.
Huge thank you to Kirsten Osbourne, NetGalley, and Dragonblade Publishing for the e-ARC.

Book two of this series is as creative, engaging and intriguing as the first book. Ailis, is talented, determined and knows her own mind. There is no way she is going to comply with her father's wishes. Her heart belongs to
Lachlan, who isn't considered powerful enough. As life takes a deeper turn, it's Lachlan opportunity to show his true worth. Well written and a must read.

This book is the second book in the series that focuses on the McAfee daughters. This is Ailis story. Ailis is a healer and a strong independent woman. This is her story on how she found love despite her duty as one of three daughters of the clan leader. This was a fast read and difficult to put down.

This book is written in third person which I do not mind but because their is narration for multiple people’s inner thoughts in one chapter I find it very confusing for me. I didn’t deduct any stars because the writing style is personally not for me nothing wrong with the story.

Another entertaining read from this series with Ailis, a spirited but kinda heroine, and Lachlan, a sweet, kind, and solid Highland hero.
A kidnapping, an unwanted suitor, and political intrigue make the book interesting. The setting was also beautifully described.

This is a spirited Scottish romance featuring stubborn hearts, shifting loyalties, and the kind of love that defies duty. Ailis McAfee is no ordinary Highland lass—she’s a healer, a knife thrower, and a woman who refuses to let her fate be decided by politics alone. Ailis and Lachlan’s story is a classic battle between obligation and desire. She’s bound by her father’s ambitions; he’s weighed down by his perceived lack of worth. Yet when danger strikes, their true strengths—and feelings—rise to the surface. Osbourne crafts a compelling dynamic between the two, with Ailis’s fierce independence clashing (and eventually melting) against Lachlan’s quiet devotion. The kidnapping plot adds urgency, though some readers may wish for more resolution to the broader political intrigue (a few loose threads linger).
The romance itself is sweet with mild spice, focusing more on emotional tension than steamy scenes. Fans of strong-willed heroines will adore Ailis, even if her modern sensibilities occasionally feel anachronistic. Lachlan, meanwhile, is the epitome of the honorable Highlander—steadfast, protective, and utterly swoon-worthy.
While the pacing leans more toward dialogue than action, Osbourne’s lush Highland setting and endearing characters keep the pages turning. The epilogue provides a satisfying glimpse into the future, though it skips over some unresolved subplots.
Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review a temporary digital ARC in exchange for an unbiased review.

This is the second book with the brothers. Ailis is a very determined and strong willed woman who knows what she wants. She is not willing to bend for anyone least of all deceiving men. Will she be able to find her happy ever after or will people be able to change her future? If you like strong willed woman and mild spice this is he book for you.
