Suzie & Charlie ❤️

🍹High school French teacher Suzie’s in Mallorca with her four cousins, celebrating the oldest’s 40th. After a rough break up and more life changes than should be allowed, some time out in the gorgeous private villa is just what she needs.

🇪🇸Spanish teacher Charlie is in Mallorca for his younger brother Max’s stag trip, mostly there to be the “responsible” one. The package tourist hotel is party central on the beach.

⛱️When Suzie and Charlie meet unexpectedly on the beach mid-skinny-dip-gone-wrong, it’s not clear whether she’s a mermaid, French, or if he’s Spanish. What you do know is that this meeting is meant to be.

✏️Kristen Bailey’s writing doesn’t disappoint and her latest story that captures so many characters from previous stories like little Easter eggs is a delight. Both Suzie and Charlie have had challenges that should define them, but they keep their senses of humour, their optimism and trust. I love how despite the muddles along the way, the universe kept putting them on the path to happiness.

I really enjoyed this book and am definitely a fan of Kristen Bailey and her writing style. It was fun, sexy, and very entertaining. I loved being reunited with familiar characters from her previous novels, and yet cleverly, this book totally stands independently of those stories. You don't need to have read any of her other books, but if you have, you'll enjoy meeting those fiery girls again. Suzie and Chris were immediately likeable and as a fellow teacher I could empathise with the work load and love for class room decorating! The whole book felt very authentic, was easy to read and genuinely entertaining. Would highly recommend.

Suzie, fresh from a break up, escapes to Mallorca with her cousins where she unexpectedly meets Charlie who saves her from a tricky situation.
Back in England, they're thrown together again.
From Mallorca, to England, Seville & Paris, fate just keeps bringing the pair together.
I really enjoyed this book, I particularly liked the characters and the way they communicated, it just gave a more "grown up" vibe compared to most romance novels.
This book, was steamy, romantic and at times down right hilarious.

I just finished reading this book. The plot was absolutely fantastic! It was quite the page turner, and I could not put the book down once I began reading it. I can't wait for it to be released. I will recommend it to everyone I know!

Amazing! Great summer vibes and full of belly laughs, plus it makes me want to break out in song …….. “ h-o-t-t-o-g-o, you can take me hot to go……….”

The characters Suzie and Charlie are great characters, I really felt quite attached to them. I can’t speak a word of French or Spanish but I was enthralled at how fluent they were. I liked that their foreign languages weren’t the same yet they could speak both, I especially liked the confusion when Charlie first meets Suzie and actually thinks she is French, and even after meeting her cousins is still none the wiser 🤣🤣.

Charlie’s back story was really touching and made me like him more. I loved his close connection to his brothers and sister and how they totally stand with him in encouraging his relationship with Suzie to, in the blink of an eye doing a complete u turn to support him when her truth comes out. Got to love sibling love.

I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but as it was nearing the end I was beginning to wonder if maybe they weren’t going to get their happy ending, but then one last sibling/cousin meddling and they just happen to be at the same place together. Simply brilliant. I’ve loved everything about this book and think everyone should read this summer and have a good laugh.

Suzie, fresh off a breakup, escapes to Mallorca with her cousins in search of sun, sangria, and absolutely no strings attached. What she doesn’t expect is to be rescued—literally—by a devastatingly handsome Spaniard during a late-night mishap. Their chemistry is instant, electric, and unforgettable. But just when she thinks she’s left “Carlos” behind on the beach, reality smacks her in the face: he’s not a holiday mirage—he’s Charlie, the new Spanish teacher at her school. What elevates the story is its blend of emotional honesty and comedic timing. Suzie is smart, messy, and relatable, while Charlie is more than just the smoldering beach savior—he’s thoughtful, sincere, and totally swoon-worthy.

Their reunion in Seville during a school trip is peak romantic comedy, brimming with sunshine, suppressed longing, and the kind of chemistry that makes readers giddy. Through it all, Bailey keeps the tone light and fun without skimming over Suzie’s emotional growth, allowing the romance to deepen beyond the holiday heat.

Overall, it is a feel-good, sexy romp with heart, humor, and just the right dose of chaos. Unputdownable and utterly delightful.

This was such a cute and charming read! I found myself giggling throughout, it’s definitely one of those “don’t take me too seriously” romcoms that’s meant to be pure fun. The main characters were delightfully goofy, their families were adorably kooky, and the entire supporting cast added to the playful, lighthearted vibe.

There were a few moments that felt a bit drawn out, especially in the inner monologues which dipped into repetitive territory at times.

Overall, this book felt like a breath of fresh air and made for the perfect summer read. Light, fun, and full of heart.

Des fous rires et de la romance à gogo!

What was meant to be a fun, steamy romance turned into a cringe-filled soap opera. The leads had potential, but the chemistry fell flat, the drama felt forced, and the side characters were nosy to the point of discomfort. Way too much oversharing, zero boundaries, and no real charm. Gave up halfway.

I found this to be a quite entertaining read especially for the warmer seasons. This book had me laugh out loud quite a few times and it was really easy to read. It also kind of reminded me of back to friends by sombr which I found kinda cool. Some things that bothered me a bit though were for once that in the middle of a chapter it sometimes changed from first person to third person narrative in one sentence which confused me. It also had quite a lot of miscommunication which bothered me because it would’ve been really easy to dissolve. All in all it was entertaining and light🥰.

I haven't laughed so much when reading a book in a long time! Hot To Go made me do that - aloud and often - and for that I thank author Kristen Bailey. This is the perfect summer read, with fun characters and wonderful settings, and plenty of romance - sometimes racy.
I know the streaming services don't make rom com limited series, but only movies, but this book seems like it would perfectly lend itself to a fun series. I'd definitely watch it.
Bailey, as usual, skillfully navigates complicated relationships of all types, and keeps the reader turning the pages to the very end.
Thank you to #StormPublishing for the invitation to read the ARC of #HotToGo and to #NetGalley for providing it.

I really enjoyed the storyline to this, a romance novel with a lot of chances at love and obstacles in the way. My only negative to this is there was a fair bit in French and Spanish with no translation.
The ending for me was also slightly abrupt but thats just a personal preference.

Overall a good summer read

Big thank you to NetGalley, Storm Publishers, and Kristen Bailey for the opportunity to read and review this ARC!
I think this is a perfect summertime book. Add this to your TBR. Great for the beach or the poolside!
It was a quick read and I felt relaxed while I read it.
I found myself laughing out loud, which I love to find in a book. I read a lot of heavier books and this one made me laugh, loved it.
I thought this was such a cute setting. Beach fling and unexpected reunion.
The witty banter... LOVE!
Kristen Bailey wrote such fun characters. They were also relatable.
Susie and Charlie had great chemistry and it seems that fate wants them to be together. Why else would they keep ending up in these situations.
Susie also had the best family dynamics... she and her cousins.. yes!
I love the way Kristen wrote Susie and Charlie coming back together and ending up teaching at the same school after their summer fling. So cute.
Again - the characters are developed in a way that is fits with this book just right.
The plot is well structured, nothing complicated, just enjoyable. One of those books that you can just "sigh" over. The pace of the book was great.
I highly recommend for your summer reading list!
Happy Reading!

Suzie wasn’t looking for love, just a bit of an ordinary summer escape. Freshly heartbroken, she sets off to sun-soaked Mallorca with her cousins, hoping to swap her problems for sunsets and cocktails. But when a midnight dip goes hilariously wrong, she’s rescued by a dark-eyed stranger with a killer smile and an accent to match ✨

Back home, reality hits hard, especially when “Carlos” walks into her school staff room not as a vacation memory, but as Charlie, the new Spanish teacher. Turns out, the mysterious man from the beach has just become her colleague, and neither of them is quite sure what to do with that…

Now, dodging eye contact in meetings and pretending they haven’t shared more than lesson plans, Suzie and Charlie are forced to navigate awkward encounters, unfinished business, and undeniable attraction. And when a school trip to Seville throws them back into each other’s orbit, things get even messier and hotter.

Sparks? Check. Undeniable chemistry? Double check. A few harmful lies? Definitely.

‘Hot to Go’ by Kristen Bailey is the perfect way to kick off your summer with a sun-drenched romcom about second chances, and whether a holiday fling can survive the return flight.

I loved every sun-soaked, awkward, steamy moment. And the fact that it’s about language teachers? Honestly, that just made it feel even more personal and relatable.

Now let me get those H-O-T-T-O-G-O moves ready and I see you very sun, I mean soon!

As always, a special thanks to the author, Kristen Bailey (@kristenbaileywrites), Storm Publishing, and NetGalley for granting me the opportunity to read and review ‘Hot to Go’ before it’s official publication on July 18.

It was a fun read that had me hooked. This was a first book from the author and from the series. I really liked it and will pick up the rest of the series.

This is unfortunately a 2 star rating for me. The pov shift in the middle of chapters really disconnected me from the story. I didn't really feel anything for the characters. There was spice but it didn't quite hit right and sort of felt out of place.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to read this arc.

Susie goes on vacation after a bad breakup. While in Mallorca, she meets Charlie aka Carlos, and begins a hot fling. But when Suzie returns home and goes back to work as a Fresh teacher, she meets the new Spanish teacher who....you guessed it-is none other than CHARLIE!!

The 2 begin to question if their Mallorca fling was just a vacation romance or a meant to be.

This was a really funny. quirky book. I would say its an amazing summer read. It was very cute and unique from other romcoms I've read.

Hot to Go is a fun, flirty rom-com about a heartbroken teacher who hooks up with a hot stranger on vacation—only to find out he’s her new coworker. Total chaos, steamy tension, and big laughs. If you like messy families, accidental love, and British humor, this one’s for you.

Oof. I have a lot of thoughts on this book.
This is very British, which I wasn’t aware of going in—so I’ll take some of the blame there. I often find British humor around sex pretty crude, and that’s just not something I enjoy reading. The opening sex scene felt particularly unsexy and set a strange tone for the rest of the story.
The writing itself was confusing and hard to follow. The constant switching between internal and external dialogue was awkward; I really wish the internal thoughts had been set apart with italics to make it clearer.
A minor understanding of French and Spanish helps, too. Without some language knowledge, I think certain sections would be frustrating.
The sexual innuendos mostly made my eyes roll. There was no real buildup to the spicy scenes—they felt childish and inauthentic. Some moments also seemed really inappropriate; there’s a time and place for that sort of thing, and this often missed the mark.
This book will definitely work for some readers, but unfortunately, it wasn’t for me. If you’re a third of the way in and not feeling it, it doesn’t really change. This was nearly a DNF for me.

1.5stars

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Delighted to have been selected to receive an ARC. The prologue had me a bit confused, but once I got further into the book I started to really enjoy it. However, like 70% onwards it felt really flat. There was just kind of this big gap in communication and not a lot really was explained/ played out.
Definitely a 3.5 star read.

I’d first like to thank NetGalley, Storm Publishing, and Kristen Bailey for this free ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

It was my first Kristen Bailey book, and I thoroughly enjoyed her writing style. It was a light, breezy book that contained a dual POV.

It’s a perfect beach read and I highly recommend.
