Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the ARC!

Hot to Go is a hilarious, heartwarming rom-com that had me laughing from the very first chapter. Kristen Bailey’s sharp wit shines through in the dialogue, making the story feel like you're catching up with your funniest friend over drinks. The banter is fantastic, the mishaps are delightfully awkward, and the characters are instantly likeable—especially Suzie, who’s newly single, delightfully messy, and so easy to root for.

It starts with a steamy and chaotic vacation fling and turns into a high-stakes slow burn once the couple ends up working together at the same school. It’s fresh, funny, and full of "oh no!" moments in the best possible way.

If I had one small critique, it’s that the pacing lagged just a little in the middle, there were a few scenes that felt like they could’ve been trimmed. But overall, it didn’t take away from the charm or the joy of the story.

This is the perfect book to kick off your summer reading list. It is sunny, sexy, and seriously funny.

Thanks to Storm publishing and Net Galley for the arc. With the title being a popular song, I was excited to read it. While there were a few pop culture references in it, this one struggled to hold my interest. By about 60%, I thought the plot started moving forward, and I was eager to finish. Overall, I give it three stars for meeting expectations and being an overall fine read. I think the title and book cover are what made me interested in the book, but the actual plot was just ok. It took me a month to get through this one which is way longer than my normal pace.

Overall, I had a lot of fun reading this book. It felt a little unnecessarily long at times, but that didn’t deter me from wanting to read it.

I love the very classic “two people meet on vacation, have a mind blowing night or two together, something happens where they don’t exchange contact information, and then all of the sudden they collide in their “real lives” a couple of weeks later bit. It’s very Grease/HSM and really you can’t go wrong with it.

The characters and the dynamics between them - not just Suzie and Charlie, but the whole cast - were really well developed but for whatever reason I could never quite picture either one of them in my head which bugged me a little.

I do think a few of the times in which Suzie and Charlie couldn’t make it work could have been left out of the narrative. It was a little too much for me. But overall this was a funny, enjoyable, and very relatable book.

3.8/5

Hot To Go focuses on Suzie, that after an awful break-up, heads to Mallorca, where she meets Carlos... or well, Charlie. Back to her life, she discovers that this man is not just someone she met on vacation, instead he's the new Spanish teacher at her school.

With mistaken identity and scenes that make you laugh out loud, this book has well balanced spice, humor, and heart: the perfect ingredients for a well done rom-com.
I never read books by this author, but Kristen Bailey delivers a sun‑soaked, laugh‑packed rom‑com that’s as steamy as it is sweet, tailor‑made for beach days or poolside lounging.

Thank you Kristen Bailey, NetGalley and Storm Publishing for this ARC!

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for this ARC! This hysterical story of Suzie and Charlie and all their “what are the chances” moments made me laugh out loud. Suzie escapes her life for a vacation with her cousins and is delighted to be rescued from her late night skinny dipping by a hot local, Carlos. They meet up later for a vacation fling never to cross paths again. When Suzie shows up for her first day at her new school, she’s shocked to learn Carlos is in fact Charlie and will be teaching down the hall. The hi-jinx and hilarity made this one a perfect summer read.

Suzy and especially her "cousins" like to have fun and Mallorca is a great place to do it!

Fate has really set up great things for Suzy which makes this story a bit of a fairytale. A fairytale with nudity and shenanigans. I laughed through most of this book. It was great.

Thankyou to #Netgalley and #StormPublishing for the copy of #HotToGo in exchange for an honest review.

It's an entertaining mix of family, friendships, humour and romance with a holiday theme. Suzie has returned to London after her relationship breakdown and jumps at the chance to holiday in Mallorca with her cousins. Charlie is also recovering from a relationship ending; he, too, ends up in Mallorca on his brother's stag do. The readers get to know both of the main protagonists and their romantic history before they meet, and this makes what happens more emotional. When they meet again, unexpectedly for them but not for us, the emotional rollercoaster begins. It's an engaging read with lots of irreverent humour and spicy romance. If you enjoy hot contemporary romance with many hilarious moments, this is one to read.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

Thank you so much to Netgalley for this absolutely gem of an arc! I was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did, but oh dear! it was hillarious and as someone who is Spanish I really appreciated all the references.

Bailey’s writing is energetic and engaging, striking a nice balance between humor and emotional depth. There’s a surprising amount of heart tucked between the steamy scenes, giving the story more dimension than expected from a quick romantic read.

If there’s one critique, it’s that a few plot points wrap up a little too conveniently, and some side characters could have used a bit more development. Still, it’s a thoroughly enjoyable ride that romance fans will appreciate.

2.5 stars rounded up. Hot to Go is a summer-focused romcom between two teachers set partly in Spain and partly in London. I have read another work by this author before (Sex Ed) so I know she's capable of better. The quippy banter between the lead characters was not enough to overcome the following hurdles: 1) Too many typos for a published work, with strange lapses into second person (without quotation marks) when a character is thinking rather than speaking; 2) overly familiar/candid discussions between high school teachers and their students about romantic relationships; and 3) it sounds silly, but a complete misunderstanding of how one should react to the presence of bedbugs. If someone who is sharing your hotel room announces that they have bedbug bites, the right thing to do is to tell the hotel rather than pulling them into bed to snuggle with you! I don't care if you're trying to achieve the "there was only one bed" trope -- I feel like this shouldn't need to be said.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for this arc. I had a blast reading this book.

Kristen Bailey is a must read author for me. If she writes it, I will read it. Even though I don’t always understand the British slang, I have a hell of a time.

This story introduces us to Suzie and Charlie who are on holiday for different reasons. Suzie to find joy after a terrible break up and Charlie to celebrate his brother’s bachelor party. They meet under extraordinary circumstances while Suzie and her cousins are skinny dipping, have a great shag and due to more unforeseen circumstances leave their holidays without seeing each other or sharing information.

Fast Forward to the new school year and we find our protagonists working together in a new school. They way these two work through their baggage and learn how to find a spark that lasts made me root for this couple till the very end.

I’d recommend this book to someone who likes to travel, who teaches a foreign language, and has a love of stationary.

After a tough breakup, Suzie joins her supportive (and hilarious) cousins in Mallorca and unexpectedly falls for the mysterious 'Carlos' (aka Charlie.) Weeks later they are thrown back together and attempt to navigate a new friendship... what could possibly go wrong?

I really enjoyed this! I adore Kristen's writing and at this point would probably read her shopping list? I also love reuniting with my fave characters from other books!!

Hot to Go is a perfect holiday read!! The vibes were immaculate and it made me absolutely HOWL.

As a teacher, I found this book fun to read; as an American, I loved noticing the differences between our school systems. (My empire to be called Miss instead of Bruh!)
This was an enjoyable read with a satisfying ending.

Thank you to NetGalley and Storm publishing for mg advanced reading copy of Hot to Go in exchange for my honest opinion. Hot to Go was released on July 18, 2025.

Hot to Go is a spicy romcom that has all the laughs from the best side characters. The Spain trip was hilarious from both points of view and although predictable, I loved the romance that bloomed when they started teaching at the same school. Just a fun romcom!

Firstly, thank you to Netgalley & Storm publishing for the eARC. Sadly, this was a miss for me. I really had to get myself to get through this. I felt as if the whole plot went round and round.

I pushed through because I did want to see them talk to each other more but it was just the same thing over and over again. I did enjoy the two main characters and was rooting for them but this read fell flat for me.

This book was trying to be a lot of different things and I kind of wish it had just tried to be one thing? It didn’t pull me in how I’d hoped it might!
