The author did a great job with imagery as I felt immersed into the characters' world. I didn't care too much for the characters themselves but the twists and suspense were great, and the ending wasn't predictable.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This was a very interesting, haunting thriller with many twists. It got easier to follow as the book went on. Loved the heist aspect for sure but really like the overall theme of a picture perfect life that turns out to be not so perfect and filled with plenty of drama. Definitely a book that kept my attention the whole way through,

I had read one previous book by Joël Dicker and was excited to see this new release by him. I enjoyed it quite a bit -- it held my interest and felt unsettling the whole way through.
It's hard to know who to trust or what to believe in this book, which kept me guessing until the end. I loved the shifted perspectives and timelines, and was eager to find out the outcome. None of the characters are particularly likable but I don't feel like they needed to be -- they were each distinct and unique and I could understand the reasons behind their actions, even if I didn't agree with them.
I loved the descriptions in this book and could picture the houses and the woods so well.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a twisty mystery that is well written. I am excited to read more by Joël Dicker - both his backlist and future books!
Thank you to NetGalley for the advanced copy of this book!
