Love love love!
This series is fantastic. I adore Casey and Jericho. This book was non stop action and suspense from page one. Full on thrill ride from start to finish. Fast paced as heck. This will keep you reading, you can’t put this one down.
A solid team, old murder cases copied, is someone from their past behind this? Terrifying to the max

B.R. Spangler does it again with another great read in the Casey White series. Shadow on Her Grave is the 13th book of this series. It was fast paced and hard to put down. Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for my arc.

The book is fast-paced and I found myself tearing through the chapters. This was my first book in the series and I will definitely be reading the previous books. It reads just fine as a standalone read. It just took a little time to get to grips with all the characters and their links to each other and the old case. I just need to catch up on the other books now.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley.

Detective Casey White returns in a gripping new story as she prepares to make significant changes in her life. Just as she is about to marry Jericho and retire from the department to focus on raising her new family, Casey is faced with a case that could prove to be the most challenging of her career, which is significant given her history.

As a young girl has been found murdered, and the scene and evidence seem eerily familiar to Casey. And soon after, a handwritten poem is delivered to the station, and Casey immediately recognizes the writing as belonging to a previous victim she couldn't save. This leads them to another crime scene, leaving Casey convinced that someone is toying with her and Jericho by using past cases to commit new crimes— with unnerving accuracy.

And as Casey and her team dig deeper, they unearth a lead that takes them to a long-abandoned island and a now-derelict beach house, where they discover the lifeless body of Jericho's first wife, Jessie, posed in an upstairs bedroom. So now more determined than ever to catch this killer, Casey and Jericho pull out all the stops.

However, this killer may be closer than they ever imagined.

And with perfect pacing and plenty of twists, Shadow on Her Grave kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough! I would happily recommend to all.

Another very good, well written read, book 13 in the Casey White series. It starts at a fast pace with the discovery of the body of a young woman. I like the plotting and the developing characterisation, especially Tracy. It is quite an intense read, full of twists and very personal for Casey, as she is soon to be married. I really enjoyed the read and recommend the series to lovers of crime thrillers. Thanks to Net Galley for my ARC.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for providing me with an ARC copy of this book for my honest review.

I absolutely loved this book! I was captivated from the very beginning and finished it in just two days. It would have been even faster, but unfortunately, adult responsibilities intervened....

I didn't realize this was part of a series, and now I can't wait to read the others. Filled with suspense, murder, bomb threats, and more, this fast-paced mystery kept me glued to my Kindle. It was the perfect summer read!

This is book 13 in the Casey White series. This one started a little slow for me. After a few chapters, I got into it. Didn't feel the page-turning intensity that I've felt in prior books, but it was a solid addition to the series. Curious to see what happens next with Casey and her family.

Thank you #netgalley and #bookouture for the eARC.

Pulse Pounding Harrowing Mystery. This is one of those books that feels like it could be a series finale even through the beginning of the epilogue. Spangler has already shown earlier in this series that he isn't afraid to kill team members off, and that knowledge feeds the tension of oh so many scenes throughout this book. But there *is* a lot of prior series history baked into this book, in more than just the obvious ways, and so for that reason it is better for long time fans of this series rather than those potentially looking to jump in. (For those wanting to jump in, I recommend going back to either the *very* beginning, Book 1 - Where Lost Girls Go, or at minimum where I personally joined the series, with Book 4 - The Crying House. I've loved every book since, and I think many who find books due to my reviews will as well. :D) But for those of us who *have* been around this series for a while... wow. What a ride. Spangler has been known to have some creepy killers throughout this book, but with these he is beginning to cross into Thomas Harris (he of The Silence Of The Lambs fame and creator of Hannibal Lecter) territory, though some might argue that Spangler has been at least at that level for several books now, he just doesn't insist on going *that* far with *every* book the way Harris does. :) So whether you're reading this for the coastal Carolina family vibes (and to be clear, those play nearly as much a role deep in this series as the mysteries of each book do) or whether you're coming for the mystery and in particular because I just called out Harris, know that Spangler does a tremendous job of marrying both together, and indeed, as with Without Remorse by Tom Clancy, it is the familial bonds and the comfort there that makes the sheer utter depravity of our killer here balance so well in this book.

Again, long time fans, you're gonna love this - and have probably already read it by the time I write this review for my spot in the publisher's blog tour the Monday after the book released on Friday. For those just coming in, you're going to be glad this book is already here... and you're going to want the next one in your hand immediately too. Which means Spangler should probably get a jump on writing it. ;)

Very much recommended.

Casey is going out with a blast with this case.
The kills are heartless and heinous.
Plus they’re tied to old cases of Casey’s. Could it really be someone thought to be long dead who is the culprit?
Neither Jericho nor Casey go down without a fight.
The last part of the book is the best because naturally Spangler ends it on a high note but with a dangling question.
Is Casey really going to retire????
I need the answer stat!!

Shadow on Her Grave is book 13 in the Detective Casey White series by B.R. Spangler.
Ok, so I’ve been a fan of this series day one!
I love this series with these characters.

B.R. Spangler does an excellent job of portraying the dynamics between characters. The plot is cleverly crafted, with twists and turns that will leave me guessing until the very end. The pacing is excellent, with just the right amount of tension and suspense to keep me turning the pages.
It is a must-read for fans of thrillers and crime fiction.
With its well-crafted characters, gripping plot, surely to stay with you long after you've turned the final page.
Absolutely unputdownable!

With a heart-stopping start to the next book in the Detective Casey Duncan series, another gruesome murder occurs, leaving Detective Casey Duncan questioning whether this will be her final case. As she prepares to marry Sheriff Jericho Flynn and embark on a new life with their two adopted children, Casey feels the urge to step away from her demanding career. Both Casey and Jericho believe that her retirement is important, but her desire for a quieter life seems like an unattainable dream, especially as the latest murder and other crime scenes bear striking resemblances to her past cases.

Will this be Casey’s last case? As a diehard fan of this series, I certainly hope not. I am completely enthralled with Casey, her work ethic, her relationship with Jericho and her team, and her role as mother to the two children she and Jericho adopted.

This book is a thrilling one-sitting read that kept me on the edge of my seat. The intensity beyond Casey’s current case is filled with both drama and danger, and then when you factor in the real and often raw emotions of both Casey and Jericho, this book is thoroughly engaging. As is sometimes the case with some ongoing series, the stories would do well as standalone novels. However, for anyone who loves continuity, especially when it comes to character growth and backstory, this series would be well worth reading from the very beginning.

It’s hard to not wax poetic about this wonderful book. B. R. Spangler has written a marvelous series, with each successive book just as good or better than the one before. In fact, coming up with a favorite from the 13 books in the series so far would be a very hard challenge because they were all excellent reads. I particularly enjoyed the conclusion of this novel, and I’m eager to see where the series goes from here.

Many thanks to Bookouture and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

Wow!
This is actually book 13! in the Detective Casey White series and, so far, it's the only one I've read.

I don't normally love to read books out of order, however with this genre, it's usually pretty easy to follow due to each book covering a whole case and feeling complete.
I do miss the character development a little and the dynamics between workers and family members too.

In this book, we also see that the case is reminiscent of a previous case and I'm guessing that this happened in a previous book, given there are so many.
But, I think that putting that aside, it still reads just fine as a standalone read. It just took a little time to get to grips with all the characters and their links to each other and the old case.

I really liked our main characters and the way they worked together and with their teams - their backstory sounded intriguing and I picked up on a few links which made this case much more personal than usual for them all.

The case was complex but well thought and presented. I enjoyed trying to pice the clues together and see if I had any clue what was happening and why - as well as who might be responsible.
There were some good twists and turns that kept me guessing to the end though.

The writing style was super easy to read and become immersed in.
It was an exciting read and one that certainly makes me want to read back in the series.
I definitely want to see more of these characters and to see how all the relationships have developed over time.

A really enjoyable read and another 12 books added to my ever growing tbr!

This series has blown me away, it needs to be said. How the author thinks of half of the things that occur in these books is incredible. This particular one, he has pulled out all the stops and there were many scenarios where I caught my breath!

Casey is investigating a body that is chained to some cinder blocks. Why did someone do that to this young woman and why are there echoes of a previous case that Casey and her team solved? She is about to quit her job and become a full-time mum as her fiance is back being the Sheriff and their children need one of them to be at home. However, as the bodies start to pile up, including a really shocking one from Jericho's past, Casey figures out the connection. And the revelation is shocking. Can she really leave her career behind when there are cases to be solved?

This was a tautly written thriller and I loved it!

I am also enjoying the little snippets of Casey and Jericho's life that the author blends into the story, it really gives it heart.

4.5 stars from me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture.

This is supposed to be Casey’s last case. The killer is recreating past cases that the team has worked. When Sheriff Flynn’s past is brought into the present, Casey and Jericho know they need to put an end to it all.

It was easy to get sucked into this story. I needed to know who the latest serial killer was and why we were reliving previous murders. It’s also helpful that these books aren’t overly lengthy, it makes it easy to read them all in one day.

Detective Casey White is getting addictive to me. I definitely need to go back to the beginning of this series and catch up on the books that I haven’t read yet.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for my copy of this book.

My head is spinning in a good way!! “Shadow on Her Grave” by B.R. Spangler starts off with a BANG and the action doesn’t stop. This is Book 13 in the Detective Casey White series. This is the first book I’m reading and it can be read as a stand alone. But I do want to go back to read them all because I really liked this and one.
While Detective Casey White is planning her wedding she she comes across a murder similar to one she dealt with in the past. The killer starts toying with her and her fiancee and it’s a rush to catch the killer.
Loved this un-put-downable fast paced story. I also enjoyed the relationship with Casey and Jericho. I’m so glad I found this series! Many thanks to the author, Bookouture and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

This is the first book in this series that I have read however this did not hinder my joy of the novel and the characters journey in this book. I love the characters which the author has created and I think I need to go back and read the whole series to get the full back story. This is a book which pulls together the history of the characters have been through.

This twisted case is dark and full of suspense. Casey is drawn into a mystery that also brings forth the past. It kept me guessing right up to the shocking reveal! There were so many great surprises as well. I loved the ending. I can't wait to see where the series goes from here.

Shadow on Her Grave is a book that you won't be able to put down! The book starts off at a frantic pace and continues on throughout. I finished Shadow on Her Grave in one day and I hadn't planned on that. This is book 13 in the Detective Casey White series by B.R. Spangler, This series is becoming one of my very faves to read. I can't wait for book 14 so I hope B.R. is busy writing! Jericho Flynn, the sheriff, is engaged to Detective Casey Flynn and they are in the middle of wedding planning. Casey goes to a crime scene on the beach in the Outer Banks. A young woman has been anchored to a boulder and killed by drowning. It's a horrific way to die and reminds Casey of another case.

The killer is toying with Casey when she receives a poem at the station. It's handwritten and linked to another victim that Casey couldn't save. The killer is giving her clues about where her next crime scene will be. The person doing this seems to have inside knowledge of Casey's cases because some of these things weren't released publicly. Is the killer someone she works with? How else could they get this information about Casey's other cases?

When the team follows clues to a broken down beach house, they discover another body. This time Jericho knows the victim as it's his late wife. This killer has dug up Jericho's wife from the graveyard and placed her here. Why would someone do such a horrible thing? How could they do this without anyone noticing at the cemetery? Jericho is visibly shaken and emotions are all over his face. They've got to find this killer before he strikes again, but how? He always seems to be one step ahead of them. As the investigation proceeds, the team is in danger at every turn. Will Jericho, Casey, and the team make it through this case alive? This book is amazing and one of the best thrillers I've read this year. I rate Shadow on Her Grave 5 stars with my very highest recommendation. The book is out on July 18 and can be enjoyed as a standalone or by readers invested in the series. Will the wedding actually take place? Will Jericho and Casey solve the case without losing each other? You'll have to read it to find out! I'd like to thank NetGalley and Bookouture for an advanced copy of Shadows on Her Grave in exchange for a fair review. #ShadowOnHerGrave
