"Sword of Vengeance" by Chris Adams is a fantastic and immersive fantasy novel that is sure to delight fans of the genre. Adams has crafted a rich and detailed world, a compelling protagonist, and a plot that is packed with action and emotional depth.

The story follows Gerald Caelen, a Guardian Knight on a mission to rescue a kidnapped prince and stop an immortal tyrant from taking over the world. However, the book is much more than a typical quest. It's a gripping tale of revenge, redemption, and the blurred lines between hero and villain. Gerald is a complex and haunted character, and his journey is filled with difficult choices and personal sacrifices that will keep you invested in his fate.

The world-building is a standout feature of the book, with a well-developed magic system and a sense of history that makes the realm feel lived-in and real. The action sequences are expertly written, cinematic, and easy to visualize, making for a truly thrilling reading experience.

For those who love epic fantasy with a coming-of-age drama, fast-paced action, and morally complex characters, "Sword of Vengeance" is a must-read. It's a book that delivers on its promises and leaves you eagerly anticipating the next installment.

I adored this book!

We follow Gerald Cael, A Knight on his first mission to rescue a kidnapped prince.

The worldbuilding and characters are fantastic. Gerald is the perfect protagonist because he is not perfect, he has flaws which make him feel real and human. The rest of his party are also wonderfully complex with motivations and character development of their own. I was fully invested throughout in each and every one of them, even the Villain, which, as a prolific lover of villains, I can say was an absolute joy to read about. I hated and adored him at the same time.

The Plot and pacing worked well, at no point did I feel like it was slow or not progressing. In fact, I was fully invested and read it in just over a day and a half. The prose and imagery is superb whilst being accessible and not over flowery.

I recommend this Novel to anyone and everyone but especially to those who enjoy epic fantasy that is at times dark, with wonderful characters and a whole lot of heart. I cannot wait until the next one!

Thank you to the Publisher, author and Netgalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own and I am leaving a review voluntarily. (Shared review to amazon.uk, and will post on my instagram.)
