As someone who has cared for someone with Alzheimer's, I really disliked the way her mother who has been suffering from the disease was portrayed here.

Call Me Anytime is a great romcom that had me cracking up the first chapter. When Hannah takes a job as a phone sex operator to help out since she is drowning in debt. Little did she know she would be helping in a murder case that claimed the lives of two women who work her exact line at the company. A virgin as a phone sex operator, this has comical written all over it.
Cue sexy detective Dominic Dunn. Hannah and Dominic first encounter was hilarious to say the least. I loved their dynamic and how their relationship progressed.
I can’t write this review without an honorable mention to Hannah’s mom, Sherry. She suffers from Alzheimer’s and is obsessed with the TV show, NCIS. Although her situation was sad and I felt for Hannah I loved that Max Monroe wrote this into the story, her obsession with NCIS because I felt like it was a nice balance of a heavy and emotional situation with some funny moments.
Call Me Anytime has the perfect blend of humor with heartfelt moments, all the while trying to catch a murderer.
*Thank you Montlake and Max Monroe for this ARC in exchange for an honest review*

Ok, my first Max Monroe book, and I’m impressed!!
This book sounds a bit bizarre, like it shouldn’t work, yet it totally does!
25 year old Hannah takes a phone job that promises to pay well despite having no experience in its ‘service’ to support her mother who has Alzheimer’s.
Hannah is not your typical 25 year old, but she is so strong and independent. I couldn’t help but root for her from the start- even through those first through incredibly cringe phone calls!
2 girls who have worked on Hannah’s line previously have been murdered, so Detective Dominic Dunn is brought in to investigate and listen to the calls. In supporting Hannah, the two start to develop feelings and their relationship becomes more than just professional. Dom is determined to solve the case and protect Hannah.
Sherry- Hannah’s mom- is such a lovely side character. Her Alzheimer’s is treated with respect and care, sensitively written to involve her throughout the story, and she also develops a lovely relationship with Dom.
Whilst there were a couple of little plot holes, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and really liked the epilogue that showed us Dom and Hannah a few years later.
Big thanks to the authors, Montlake and NetGalley for this ARC!

Can Max Monroe write anything that I am not going to love? I think the answer is no. This was another laugh out loud, could not put down book by this dynamic duo. Hannah is a 25 year old virgin who goes on a job interview for a telemarketing job, only to find out it is for a phone sex operator. The money is too good to turn down, so she decides to take the job, what could go wrong? How about when her very first call is from detective Dominic Dunn and involves her in a murder investigation? Not to mention she is possibly the worst phone sex operator in the history of phone sex operators.. Is Hannah in over her head? Things only get more complicated when she starts feeling things for the hot detective.

Love the mix of comedy, romance, and crime. So fun, emotional, and suspenseful! Hannah’s mom has my heart forever!!

Max Monroe books are a must-read in my house. I devour them. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC. It was just as expected and full of witty banter, steam, dominant characters, and much more. The writing flows smoothly, and I got lost in this title.

As a big fan of this writing team, I was thrilled to read their new story.
Facing a shortage of financial resources to care for her cognitively impaired mother, Hannah reluctantly begins working as a sex-line operator. With no experience herself, she’s really in over her head dealing with these calls.
The book was a rollercoaster of cringe and laughter as I read about her comical exchanges with callers. The details of those calls were a strange mix of funny and disturbing.
Police investigator, karaoke cowboy, and handsome protector—Dom is one interesting guy! So entertaining! His affection for Hannah was delightful, and I loved how naturally he complemented her life and found a place among her friends and family. I loved the engaging investigation, its drama, the way it brought them together, and their happily ever after.
While not as laugh-out-loud funny as their other works, this was still a wonderful read, filled with profound emotion, unconditional love, and the search for belonging.
I thank Montlake, the authors, and Netgalley for providing my ARC, and I voluntarily leave my review.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this ahead of release!
I really thoroughly enjoyed this. What a fast paced and different plot. I’m obsessed with crime by shows so I was hooked immediately on the NCIS aspect. I loved loved the virgin sex phone line operator concept, it made for some hilarious moments!

This was so delightfully fun! I love Max Monroe books for a good dose of swoon with a fun twist and this one was definitely no exception. The premise was incredibly unique and had me belly laughing a time or two, I loved the cast of characters who were all so lovely and easy to root for, and the main romance between Hannah and Dom was so sweet. I loved Hannah especially as a heroine— I always find myself super attached to heroines like her who just deserve the whole world and a big hug along the way. And she got her happily ever after that she deserved in the end. That epilogue was just the sweetest!🥹 Just had an all around fun time with this one :)

As soon as I read the premise for this book, I was so excited. I love reading romance with a side of mystery, especially when the romance involves a detective! Hannah May is a 25 year old virgin who is solely responsible for her mother (who suffers from Alzheimers) and ends up working for a phone sex hotline (crazy, I know). Dominic Dunn is a detective assigned to investigate the murder of other hotline operators and turns Hannah into an informant on the case. I really felt for Hannah’s character as she struggled to juggle everything in her life and really appreciated her as a representation of family members of Alzheimers patients. I loved Dom and Hannah’s immediate chemistry and the way their relationship was the perfect balance between humour and cuteness!
Although I really liked the concept of the book and the characters, there were a few things that felt a bit forced or random to me. There was a lot of information on Hannah and her struggles, however I found it difficult at times to understand Dom as we didn’t know as much about his background (his college friends appeared in the first half of the book, however weren’t mentioned in the second half?). I also felt like the murderer was a bit random and lacked a proper connection to the main characters. I would’ve also liked to see a little more of Dom and Hannah towards the end of the book, with a less rushed ending.
Overall, I still thought this was a good read, and would recommend it to anyone who likes romantic suspense!

at no point did I know where this book was going to go, but it was a ride I would gladly take again!
Monroe writes intriguing books that you don't really know you need until you buy it.

Title: Call Me Anytime
Author: Max Monroe
Publication Date: November 25, 2025
Rating: 3.5/5 stars
This was such a cozy little read. Call Me Anytime is sweet, easy to devour, and full of signature Max Monroe charm. The banter is fun, the chemistry works, and the setup is pure rom-com fluff. It’s not deep or super emotional, but if you want something easy and if you're in the mood for low-stress, feel-good romance with a dash of humor, this one delivers. A perfect break between heavier reads.
Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Max Monroe does it again!! Call Me Anytime is out in November. This is one romance readers will not want to miss.

Hannah is a virgin working at a phone sex hotline to support her mother with alzheimer's. Detective Dominic investigates the murder of anohter hotline operator and falls for Hannah.... The killer is on the hunt...
Love the mix of fun, angst and mystery in the book. Hannah is terrific and Dominic is swoony. Really enjoy the dialogue..
Thanks to the publisher for the arc.

Call Me Anytime by Max Monroe, published by Montlake is a sweet rom/com, the perfect weekend, snuggling on the couch under a blanket read.
Hannah May is an hotline operator, a quirky young woman. Some of her colleagues suffer from a short lifespan.
Here comes the mfc into the picture. Detective Dominic Dunn, together they investigate in this kind of cozy murder mystery.
I liked the storyline and connected easily with the characters, the writing is top as always with this duo. 5 beautiful stars.

This book is ridiculous in the best way. The whole premise of the book caught my interest right away and it delivered with a fun plot. A twenty-five-year-old virgin starts working for a hotline and spends her days answering sex calls? Of course, the calls are as hilarious as one would image. To add to the craziness, Detective (billionaire) Dominic Dunn comes in and turns Hannah into a police informer while investigating the murder of two girls who worked at the same hotline. The humor was my favorite part of the book, and Hannah's personal life is also a big part of this book. While I personally have no experience with early-onset Alzheimer's and can't really comment on the accuracy of the representation, the scenes between Hannah and her mom definitely pulled at my heartstrings multiple times.
On the other hand, there were some things that didn't quite work for me. The murder investigation was interesting, I think it was a great addition to the plot, but sometimes I had a hard time following it. Dom and his partner made some assumptions that didn't make much sense to me, which took me out of the story every once in a while. But if you're okay with just going with the flow and not thinking too hard about it, then this book could be for you. Similarly, while I enjoyed Hannah and Dom as main characters and their chemistry (their moments together were actually very cute), I think the romance started a bit too far into the book, and the amount we got wasn't enough for me to truly appreciate their journey to becoming a couple. I also didn't love the third act break-up, not that I agree with what happened, but I also didn't like how either of them handled it.
This is my second book from them, and while I enjoyed the first one more, I can definitely see myself picking up another in the future. If you're looking for a fun ride and a quick palate cleanser, then give this one a try.

Thank you NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC!

To say I absolutely loved this would be an understatement! First of Max Monroe the way they write is just 🧑🏼🍳 💋 I haven’t read anything by them that I haven’t loved. This one had me teary eyed, laughing, smiling and hooked from page one. Hannah May and Dominic Dunn are perfect. Keep them coming Max Monroe!

Max Monroe have done it again with another fantastic romance that will have you both laughing and crying often both at the same time. Dominic and Hannah are great additions to the Max Monroe multiverse. The plot and the pacing were fantastic and the ending swoonworthy. Definitely worth checking out!

When Hannah May takes a job she thinks it’s as a telemarketer but it ends up being something a little more risky….like a sm€x hotline…oops! To make matters worse, apparently someone is trying to 0ff the hotline workers and that’s where detective Dominic Dunn comes into play. To solve the crime he needs Hannah’s help. Can they catch the criminal before they strike again? Omg, but their first interaction had my jaw dropping and the giggles coming in strong! I knew from that moment this romcom/mystery was gonna be a fun read! I could not stop laughing and some of the phone call scenes…hilarious. Get your best sultry voice ready for this entertaining mystery. Told in first person and dual POV.

Okay, hear me out: a virginal phone sex operator, a broody detective, a hotline murder mystery, and a slow-burn romance that hits you right in the feelings? This book shouldn’t work, and yet it completely does.
Max Monroe delivers a romcom with actual depth, equal parts laugh-out-loud funny, swoon-worthy, and darkly suspenseful. And I was hooked from page one.
Hannah May is in survival mode. Her dreams are on hold, she’s a 25-year-old virgin, and she’s working every gig she can find to keep her and her mom (who’s battling early-onset Alzheimer’s) afloat. So when she lands a job at what she think sis a telemarketing company, she’s not in a position to ask too many questions.
Turns out? It’s a phone sex hotline. And she’s, uh… not exactly qualified.
Enter Detective Dominic Dunn, who’s investigating the murder of another hotline operator. One awkward phone call leads to a very real connection, and soon the chemistry between Hannah and Dominic is undeniable….even when murder is literally on the line.
Why it worked for me:
* Hannah is hilarious and heartbreakingly real. Her awkwardness is so relatable I wanted to crawl into the book and hug her. She’s sweet, smart, strong, and so damn human. And her fierce love for her mother? Tears. TEARS.
* Dominic is top-tier book boyfriend material. A little grumpy, all protective instincts, slow to trust but quick to fall? Check, check, and check. There’s a scene with him doing something incredibly mundane that made me swoon harder than any grand gesture.
* The banter = chef’s kiss. Max Monroe nails that flirty-but-vulnerable dialogue, where every interaction feels like a game of emotional chicken with actual heart behind it.
* Romance + murder mystery = ADDICTIVE. I didn’t expect to be this invested in the thriller angle, but the pacing was spot on, and it raised the stakes in such a unique way.
Call Me Anytime is the kind of romcom that sneaks up on you. You pick it up for the premise (and the chaos), but you stay for the depth. The way it balances sweetness and suspense, humour and heartbreak, tension and tenderness? 10/10 execution. And the ending? SO satisfying.
It’s like someone dropped a cozy blanket over a true-crime podcast and handed you a love story instead.
Just trust me…call this book anytime. You won’t regret it.
