Crimson isn’t a regular town. With vampires, shifters, and humans living side by side, tensions always run high. Charley Underwood — bar owner and witch— tries to keep the peace as best she can.
This is book 4 in the Charley Underwood urban fantasy series and it picks up where the last book left off, as our heroine Charley finds herself faced with her boyfriend's old nemesis. It cannot be read as a standalone as it carries on with plot threads introduced in previous books and assumes a certain level of familiarity with the characters.
A recommended read for fans of urban fantasy with strong female characters in the style of Charlaine Harris and Patricia Briggs.
Thank you to Netgalley and Second Sky for providing me with a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Netgalley and Second Sky for the chance to read an ARC of Bloodlust shadows (Charley Underwood, book 4) by Luanne Bennett. I have really enjoyed this action-filled urban fantasy which has a slightly different take on witches, vampires and werewolves. Charley spends her days and nights running her bar, and trying to keep the peace in small town Crimson, but someone is always making trouble! This time, her boyfriend Samuel disappears and the new vampire in town seems to be the problem. I found myself laughing at the antics, and enjoy Charley's kick-ass personality! I can't wait for the next book!!
The story flows from one book to the next, so I suggest reading them in order.

I enjoyed this book! There are so many twists you don't see coming! Sexy, snarky and often funny it's so good.

Bloodlust Shadows, Book 4 in the Charlie Underwood series. Scheduled to publish August 8, 2025.
Charley Once again is taking on the role of keeping Crimson together. Within the small Georgia town, there are vampires, wolves, and humans living amongst one another and she is determined to keep the peace in anyway she can.
I have read every book up to this prior to published date and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I found myself laughing a lot in this one and loved the one liners.
Samuel disappears and all effort moves to finding him and bringing him back to safety. We are made aware of his background and history, which came in great timing for this book.
We see some social and political happenings as Charley’s blood supply has challenges.
Charley’s Character is completely solidified and in alignment with the other installments in this story. We see her really take on the role of protective nature over Samuel and her friendships in this book. We see a more bad ass warrior in the story as she fights hard to keep the peace new things unfold. Charley juggles a lot and overcomes many challenges in this story.
I look forward to the new installment in this series. It will be a long hard wait until book 5 releases.
Thank you to Second Sky for an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

First off a big thank you to the publisher as well to Luanne Bennett and Netgalley for letting me continue on with one of my all time favorite series , and I thought it could get and better and bam this one came out and was even better then the first 3 books , I loved that we finally got one of my favorite characters back story and that this one had even more surprises and twist and turns then the last book did , plus the tension was nonstop though out it thanks to a new wolf pack showing up. Can't wait to see what happens next .

Get Ready for Bloodlust Shadows – Book 4 in the Charley Underwood Series! Let me tell you, it will keep you on the edge of your seat!
Charley is really coming into her power, and it's evident that her abilities are growing stronger. However, her relationship with Samuel faces some serious challenges when an enemy from his past resurfaces, determined to destroy him at any cost. Charley must think quickly if she hopes to protect the most important man in her life.
Adding to the tension, a new pack has arrived in town, frequently appearing at Charley's bar. Their primary goal? To retrieve their missing pack leader’s woman, with all clues pointing back to Charley's establishment.
The story moves at a rapid pace, and I assure you, you won't want to miss a single word. I loved every moment of it!

An action filled thrill ride of who's who, what's what and why? Whose face is their real one. What on earth is going on with Dog and why are people getting sick.
Written with an amazing pace to probably keep you up all night, as it did me.

Bloodlust Shadows was another fun installment in the Charley Underwood series. In this volume we got more backstory for Samuel as well as further progression in Charley's magical abilities. This volume was focused mostly on the vampire characters, but it also set the scene for a more werewolf focused subplot in the fifth book. The pacing in this story was good, so it was a quick and easy read to snuggle in bed with on a cold winter night. In this book there was a lot of reference back to events in the earlier volumes, so it is a series it's best to read in sequence. I am giving this one 4 stars.

This eARC was provided by Netgalley.com and I am giving an unbiased review.
This is the fourth book in the Charley Underwood series, and takes place right after the third book. Since Samuel killed his Maker, a 'sibling' has shown up in Crimson to exact revenge, and he plans on hurting others to get it done.
It was nice getting some history on Samuel, as it does some flashbacks to his past, and dealing with Shane, the 'sibling'. We also get some small back history on Dog, and some connections with the Pack and the Northern Pack. Charley and Samuel still seem to never get time alone, and just smolders the romance part of the story. Looking for a few more books in this story line from Bennett.

This was such a fun fast paced visit with Charley. I’m a big fan of her and the surrounding cast of characters. I will say this book made me see Dog in a totally different light. I’m very curious to see where his story goes. I love a good paranormal and these characters are such a hodge podge and how they create their own family unit is unique. Plus it seems Charlie has some surprises up her sleeves that even she doesn’t know about.
If you are a fan of paranormal, this series needs to be on your TBR.

I was so excited to see a book in this universe, I squealed out loud when I saw this up for request. Charley is a great protagonist, and the side characters aren’t too shabby either. This takes up where the third one left off; Samuel’s vampire brother is out to get him for the murder of their sire, but he likes to play a little before going in for the kill. We find out more about the backstory for Samuel and Shane, Charley is having some weird things happen to her, and Dog is acting a little out of character. This is a great installment in the series, and I ended this book being so angry at Dog and wanting the next book now. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Seriously fun series, you get so tucked in that before you know it you are on the last page chanting "more more more'. We'll developed characters that are eclectic and interesting, a strong plot, and of course vampires, werewolves, and magic. One of the best paranormal series out there.
