Falling Apart and Other Gifts from the Universe by Catherine Ryan Hyde, published by Lake Union Publishing, I read this book a few days ago and still its in my head. Addie and Jonathan are staying with me.
I was giddy to get my hands oin this book and now that I've read it, I'm still astonished about this wonderful piece of literature.
Abbie is a 62 year old bone tired ex-military, ex-cop who just scapes by.
Jonathan is an homeless teen, a gently, beautiful soul who's already through so much.
They couldn't be more different from each other, but somehow they connect. Connect on a deep level, become family to each other.
The characters came alive between the pages, the writing is that exquisit. I loved how the author painted these flawed characters and their story.
I recommend the book that deserves all the stars.

What I love about Hyde is her genius in creating characters that live and breathe on the page, and by the end of the book, feel like my friends. Addie and Jonathan are great main characters, and they realistically complement each other. despite (or because of) their age difference. This is a gorgeous slice of ordinary lives that could happen anywhere. If you want an uplifting book that you won’t want to put down, get this book! 5 stellar stars.

This popular author has written a page turner. I was hooked from the first thoughts. This is realistic fiction, but it has the undertones of true life. Nonfiction and fiction combined. This is a novel of caring and helping. What a thought-provoking story. The characters are so real to life that one might believe this is a news story. The actions of the protagonist are unusual in that she is trusting and takes in a young man who is homeless. Seldom does one hear of that happening. Don't miss this. Curl up in a comfy chair with a cozy blanket...a cup of steaming herbal tea. Journey with these characters. Thank you Netgally.
