Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of No One Saw Her Go by Sally Royer-Derr. The mystery itself was solid and the dual timelines helped build suspense. I liked the eerie summer camp setting and the way the story slowly unfolded.
That said, some parts felt repetitive, especially in the middle, and I found myself wanting the pace to pick up. Still, the ending delivered a few satisfying twists, and overall it was an enjoyable read. I’d be open to reading more from this author in the future.

Couldn't put it down, but it was like a puzzle. Zoey learned that she had an Aunt Heather who ran away and was never seen again by her mother and sister. But she did learn from her mother (Heather's sister) where Aunt Heather had spent her last known days. Zoey is dealing with heartbreak because the young man she loved so much had broken up with her by text, but she decides to get a job at the camp where her aunt was last seen.
Zoey's cabin mate at the camp is a member of the family that has run the camp for decades. The two young women become fast friends and work on putting together pieces of Heather's last known days at the camp. But there are very unusual happenings at this camp. The family has some very strange, maybe even unhinged, members.
The story is also partially told by Heather, through chapters detailing events in 1989.
I think the reader may figure out some pieces, but may not figure out the entire puzzle.

Zoey is a criminology student who takes a summer counseling job at Camp Medley in rural Pennsylvania. She has a personal mission: uncover the truth behind her aunt Heather's disappearance from the camp over 30 years ago. But the deeper she digs, the more she realizes that the camp harbors long buried secrets and a disturbing history. Rumors of other missing girls and strange "accidents" swirl, and Zoey begins to question whether she's on to something, or whether she's the next target.
No One Saw Her Go is a taut psychological thriller that dives deep into the shadows of trauma and memory. Royer-Derr masterfully blends past and present and this novel doesn't just entertain, it unsettles in the best possible way. The writing is deliberate and atmospheric. The tension creeps up slowly, enhanced by unanswered questions and eerie moments. Royer-Derr expertly captures the unease of being watched, of second-guessing your own perception, and of realizing that the truth might be way more dangerous than the lies. I absolutely loved our main character. Zoey is sharp, flawed, and emotionally layered, and her dogged pursuit of the truth and justice is about much more than just closure. Some parts in the middle do slow down a bit, but then it builds steadily and the ending lands perfectly, striking a good balance between satisfying and unsettling. Overall, if you enjoy thrillers with a slow burn intensity and a creeping sense of dread, No One Saw Her Go deserves to be added to your TBR!
Thank you to NetGalley, Sally Royer-Derr, and Storm Publishing for this ARC! Publication day was August 1st 2025.

No One Saw Her Go

The story is told in a dual point of view, full of crazy and dysfunctional characters, murder and lots of mystery. It's a fast-paced satisfying and an emotional read. I highly recommend this to anyone that loves thrillers!
Synopsis: When criminology student Zoey Montgomery takes a summer job as a camp counselor at Camp Medley, she went to discover what happened to her aunt Heather, who vanished from the camp over thirty years earlier. But what begins as a quest for closure quickly spirals into something far more sinister…
Many thanks to #NoOneSawHerGo #NetGalley & #StormPublishing for providing an E-ARC of this book.

The premise pulled me in immediately—Heather runs away from an abusive home, only to face even darker dangers, and her niece Zoey is determined to uncover the truth years later. The dual POV format worked beautifully, adding emotional weight and a unique perspective. Heather’s chapters are gut-wrenching, and her tragic arc is where this book shines.
That said, the twists were predictable and lacked impact. I guessed one of the main reveals very early on, and none of the others hit particularly hard. Pacing stayed steady but never gripping, and while the ending tied things together nicely, it didn’t shock or surprise me.
Overall, this is a solid thriller with strong emotional beats but low suspense payoff.

A good, well written story. Did Heather choose to leave or is there something more sinister behind her disappearance. I liked the way the two the narratives of Heather and Zoey ran parallel to each other, eventually merging to reveal the truth.

In this book each clue isn’t just revealing: it’s unravelling. Zoey’s search becomes a personal reckoning: how far will you go for closure, and what do you lose in the pursuit?

This was a good read…creepy, twisty and full of very interesting characters. There are past secrets that come to light…shocking the camp attendees.
A fast paced read.
There is no way I would have went into the wood by myself!! lol
Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the complimentary copy.

So so good!!!! Was a little predictable but still really liked it! There were twists I did not expect! While reading definitely creeped you out and made you want to keep reading!

Told over a dual timeline and mostly by Zoey and Heather, we are given the scenario of missing girls from a summer camp over the years - Heather being the aunt of Zoey. The book features an underlying love story through all the potential paedophile possibilities which are there. It flips easily between the two time frames and you become caught up in the whole saga. Then you find there is more than one connection between Heather and her niece as there is a background tale which isn't quite making sense !!
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC to review.

No One Saw Her Go was a fast paced book that was fantastic. Quite a few thrilling and suspenseful moments that I enjoyed.

Well this read was just like a delightful bag of Revels.. Fully loaded with an assortment of treats.
This is my first time reading work by this author and I am not disappointed this book put the EE in crEEpy the EE in EErie & the OO in gOOsbumps!!
Zoey is searching for answers surrounding her aunts disappearance.. Is all as it seems? Full of secrets incased in more secrets buried with some dark truths, layers of mystery mixed with intense emotions with waves of twists!!
The duel povs was done so well with the switch between Zoeys present & her Aunts past..!!
A satisfying, fast paced thriller I would recommend 👌
Thank you to Netgally & storm publishing for an early ARC in return for my honest thoughts ♡

This was... a book I read.
I have more bad than good to say about this book, honestly. I liked the premise behind it, but could tell off the bat that it was going to be a little forced. She goes to the camp where her aunt disappeared from to get answers, but realistically there could have been no answers. But this is a book, so obviously she was going to get all the answers at the camp, and that takes away from the enjoyment of unraveling the mystery. Zoey really didn't uncover anything herself either, and instead the reader was given an insane amount of exposition at the end of the book to wrap things up. Honestly, I would have been fine with her never finding out what happened, and that instead the readers are the only one who knows what happened since we are getting Heathers POV at the same time.
Overall, did not enjoy. The writing was pedestrian, too repetitive, and relied WAY too much on useless exposition while making the main character unnecessary to the story. I would not recommend.

No One Saw Her Go by Sally Royer-Derr is a gripping psychological thriller.
Ok this is my first time reading her work and now I’m going to go through her backlist and read her three previous titles.
It's fast, twisty and certainly keeps you on your toes...there were so many layers waiting to be uncovered.
Thank you NetGalley and Storm Publishing for this ARC.

First off, thank you to the author and publisher for the opportunity to read this book!
This was my third book by this author. I do like this one better than her book prior to this one. I absolutely love campy books and settings, it gives that nostalgia feeling. One thing I will say that I feel as though will be a common comment is the repetition. To some people that won't bother, but I grasp information once I read it so I have a toxic trait of picking up on repetition...maybe I'm the problem. Haha.
Anyways, another thing I also really liked was the cold case. I LOVE reading books with a trope of finding out what happened to someone who disappeared or was murdered decades ago. That will automatically pull me into a story.
It did feel like a YA read. I read a couple of reviews before reading it and I have to say that I agree. That's not a bad thing, though, because it made the read a lot faster. I enjoyed it!

This is actually a 4.5 star read for me.
If you know me, you know I'm a SUCKER for dual pov's and dual timelines and this book has them both!! The book follows the main character, Zoey (present day), and her Aunt Heather (1989). Seeing both character's perspectives created suspense and made me want to keep reading.
It takes place at a summer camp creating the perfect eerie backdrop for a summer thriller.
The twists were great & I truly did not want to put this book down.
This book is my third read from this author and it might just be my favorite (so far)!
Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for a copy of this eARC!

I absolutely loved this book by Sally. The flow of the book was perfect, the chapters were at a great length too, not too long and not too short.
The plot was fantastic, so many twists and turns through the entire book. I enjoyed getting to know the characters, Zoey, Dean and Heather are very likable.
And the ending, oh dear, it was lovely. It wrapped the entire book up perfectly.
Thank you for the early access to read No One Saw Her Go and I wish every success to Sally on publication day

I really enjoyed the dual POVs, which added depth and kept the pacing fresh throughout. While there weren’t any truly jaw-dropping twists or shocking moments, the plot still held my interest and delivered a satisfying experience overall. A great book for fans of light thrillers or anyone looking for an engaging beach/summer read

Zoey Montgomery’s aunt, Heather, disappeared from Camp Medley 35 years ago. Zoey, a criminology student, takes a summer job as a counselor at the camp to investigate her aunt’s disappearance and to try to provide answers for her heartbroken mother. The book follows her search for answers while raising questions about Heather’s fate and Zoey’s own safety. The plot includes elements such as murder, mystery, and intrigue, with multiple character developments and unexpected turns throughout. I was drawn in by the first chapter and was franticly flipping pages to find out what happened next.
This was my first book by Sally Royer- Derr and I cannot wait to dive into Sally’s other books. No One Saw Her Go will publish on August 1, 2025. I sincerely appreciate NetGalley and Storm Publishing for providing me with an advance e-copy to read in exchange for my honest review.

Summer camp setting and a history of missing teenage girls...sounds like the perfect summer mystery and thriller!
Years ago, Heather ran away from home and camped out near a summer camp to be with her boyfriend. Before the summer was over, her sister never heard from her again. Many years later, her niece, Zoey, goes back to the camp to get some questions answered. Oh how this sounded promising! While the thoughts and ideas were solid, the execution fell short for me. The interactions and dialogues between the characters felt really unnatural, some characters needed more development and many points in the story felt jarringly rushed. It's unfortunate.
I do want to thank Storm Publishing for providing an advanced digital copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are entirely my own.
