Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing an eARC for me to review!
This was recommended to me and it was sooo worth the wait to be approved, what an adorable book!!!!! The art is cute and the storyline is fun, it was hilarious to see Yaotome's driving confidence start out at a 0 and get to.... well, maybe a 7. 😂😂😂 So cute!!!

This was so cute! I love the art style and the overall plot. The characters were well done, and I liked how they communicated and got through their conflict easily. Super cute read!

Love, Love, it was so cute 🥺🥺. I would most definitely read more by this author. I love the translated note at the end, it help add more contexts and clarity to the story. The ending did leave me wanting more so hopefully get a second volume.
Highly recommend if looking for quick and cute Boy love manga

🤓 "My instructor won't yield" was in my wishlist for months and finally I could read it!
The plot is simple yet very amusing. I find quite interesting the setting! I never read a manga about taking the driving license. 🚗
🧡The main characters, Shiba and Yaotome are so different but still very kind and comprehensive to each other. Shiba tried his best to not get romantically involved with any student, while Yaotome is shy and insecure but finds I Shiba someone he can rely on.
🥹They both hide their true self but still menage to open up to each other in a very natural way.
☕️Thanks to Shiba, Yaotome starts to believe in himself, on the other hand Shiba learn from Yaotome how to be genuine and open about his feelings
🍫The story is cozy and funny and after the end you would like to read other 50+ chapter s about these two. A love that is gentle, that respect each others wills and that is patient: the best mix to create a story that will stay in your heart for a while.
✍🏻As for the artstyle there's no much left to say. Every panel is studied to be functional to the narrative, the drawings are pretty and the character's expression very well portrayed. You can imagine the sorrow, the joy and all the emotions. Even the panel without words communicate the main characters feelings and intentions.
🫶🏻 Thank you so much @netgalley and @kodanshamanga for the #arc digital copy!
.

3.5 stars. I thought this was a cute and lighthearted manga. The main characters, Chiba and Yaotome, were really good leads and had some nice chemistry. The plot flows smoothly, but the end left me wanting more because it wraps up so fast. So I will read the next volume to see what happens next.
Thank you, NetGalley and Kodansha, for providing a digital copy in return for an honest review.

The Basics:
Art: 4/5
The art has its own kind of charm…almost sketch-like? Very heavy on using lines as shadows… idk I’m not an art critic, it was still cute though.
Characters: 5/5
I absolutely loved both of these characters so much, omg. Big green flags all around.
Story/Plot: 3/5
While I really loved the characters, the overall plot was pretty simple—not a whole lot actually happens. That said, it does have an interesting premise with the driving school setting. I don’t think I’ve ever read a romance centered around that before, haha.
I also enjoyed the little third-act mini drama they threw in (and I mean mini).
This is a great pick if you’re looking for something quick and cute. It won’t blow you away, but it’ll definitely put a smile on your face.
Writing/Dialogue: 4/5
Hope he doesn’t end up in my car. Naturally that thought landed me right next to him.
Overall, the writing was solid, though a few phrases felt a bit awkward. I loved the extra translation notes at the end!
Extras:
Sweetness: 5/5
He wanted to get his license because he adopted a cat and wanted to be able to take him to the vet quickly if needed. 🥺💕
Spice level: 1/5
spoiler: they kiss

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha for the e-arc!
The cover of this title lured me in and suffice to say I enjoyed this. It was super complicated with the plot and the main two took their time to get together. Overall, solid read and would recommend checking it out!

Cute cute cuuuuuute! Definitely not “old man yaoi” but a sweet romance between grownups who (mostly) act their age. I liked the art and I think the story is a satisfying one-shot.

Thank you to netGalley and Kodansha for the eARC.
My Instructor Won't Yield is a oneshot BL manga about a car driving instructor and his somewhat meet cute with a mangaka deteremined to learn how to drive. This was a cutely awkward seinen manga, and it tackled quite a few nuanced themes within it's single volume. I really enjoyed the pacing and the characters, it was a great read.

My Instructor Won’t Yield is a soft, clean-cut yaoi manga that leans more to the YA side. The art is beautiful and expressive, but the translation didn’t quite hit the mark for me. It often felt stilted or awkward, which pulled me out of the story.
Overall, while the tone is sweet and the characters are charming enough, it might work better for readers newer to the genre or looking for something very tame.

Awww this was such a cutesy read . Very like heartstopper only with driving.
I really loved Chiba . Such a fun cheeky character.

This was cute and pretty fast paced! I really loved the art style and the story as well. I will say the chemistry was a bit lacking, and the romance felt a bit one-sided given the circumstances, but it was still an enjoyable read! I’d definitely recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a short and sweet story.

These guys are so stupid, I love them.
Did you ever have a crush on your driving teacher? (I didn't, but I have a friend that married hers) Or maybe a crush on a person that you see very often at work? If yes, then this is a manga for you.
Chiba works as a driving instructor. He's handsome and kind, which makes him an object of his clients' crushes. But he has a strict rule of not dating them. Until he meets Yaotome, who at first looks like a cool, unfazed guy but quickly turns into a stressed mess of a person.
As you can expect, these two feel instant attraction towards each other, but in true rom-com fashion there are a few obstacles in their way. The story progresses quickly, and is well written. I have a slight problem with one little stalker thing, but other than that, it was a great read.
The art style is perfect for this kind of story and makes reading it a real pleasure.

This BL manga is equally funny and cute. I really enjoyed reading this one. The pacing is good, the story is solid and the characters are believable and make the story enjoyable as well.

super cute read, i adore the art style! although it's a relatively short one shot, the characters have growth and the plot doesn't feel rushed, i would read another volume for more of them!

Sort of insta-lovey with little build up (I thought it was a one shot, so I didn’t mind this at all, but knowing it’s a series that will continue, I feel like a little more ground work could have been layered). But honestly I thought it was cute as heck. I loved both of these characters sm and I am happy knowing this is a first in a series because I’m gonna need more of them! The art was so delightful as well!

This was a really cute one-shot! Even with the fast pace of the relationship there were still little mishaps along the way with resolution. I wish it was more of a coincidence than a 2-year longing but I still enjoyed it.

This was such a cute manga about a 30 year old learning to drive, and the instructor with whom he has a lot of chemistry. I loved seeing their relationship develop and I’d love more like this! I was sad that it was over so soon, because I was enjoying it so much. A great read!

I really liked the art style and found the characters’ relationships to be super cute. Though it is a very short story and a oneshot, I found myself wanting to know more about the characters and how their story develops well after the manga ending.
I would love to see more from this author and their future stories!

I really enjoyed this story. From the very beginning, it's engaging. It centers around Chiba, a driving instructor who’s very popular among his students, and his new trainee, Yaotome. Yaotome at first seems like an outgoing guy, but when he sees his instructor, he is caught by surprise and becomes nervous in his presence. However, there is one particularly interesting situation: when Yaotome meets Chiba for his very first driving lesson, Yaotome calls Chiba by a different name. This scene in particular seems very important to me because it hooks the reader and sparks curiosity about the reason behind Yaotome’s confusion in calling Chiba by another name.
After the initial encounter, the story moves a little slowly, but it’s still interesting. Little by little, we learn more about both protagonists' lives and pasts. Later on, it’s revealed why Yaotome calls Chiba “Maki,” as well as the reason he gets so nervous around him and his attempts to form a friendship with him.
When it comes to Chiba, I must admit that his character gave me many surprises. I expected the return of a certain person to cause major drama between the protagonists, but instead, it helped bring them closer and clarify the feelings they have for each other.
I'm eagerly anticipating what's next for Chiba and Yaotome.
Thank you to NetGalley, the Author, and Kodansha Comics for providing this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
