I received this book from the publisher in exchange of an honest review.

I just couldn't resist this hilarious and epic looking book when I saw it. I still need to continue my journey through the world of Iruma, I only read the first volume of the OG series, so I may have missed some references, but for most I got the gist and that is the important bits. What if instead of a fantasy world Iruma is now in the maffia. Instead of an old demon and being sold to it Iruma gets adopted by Lord Sullivan who is now a don in the maffia. Yup! Opera and Kalego are there too and chaos ensues at every corner (those two hate each other). The first bit of the manga is when Iruma is 5, but we quickly go to him being 14 and becoming underboss. Yup. He is #2. There is lots of action, food, hilarious moments, merch, fun characters, and more. I just laughed and loved every moment of this one. Iruma is such a sweet character and I love how he keeps his happy self even in scary moments. I love how sweet he is towards people who work under him. Recommended!

Thank you NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the ARC!

This was such a fun read! The original charm and humor from the original Iruma-Kun series is still true to form in this rendition of series with a twist! I love how the headmaster is now a Don and Iruma is just as lovable and goofy as his original counterpart, from trying to fit in with demons to trying to learn and become Don in his own way as chaos comes his way. I love how Opera has been given a bigger role this time around as Iruma's companion, and the way they go about making the two bond was just silly and wholesome. Kalego also gets introduced to us as well not just as Iruma's sensei, but also as Don Sullivan's Treasurer. He's still a bird in this series too, albeit in different form, and still has to deal with Iruma and friends antics, usually being the more logical one in terms of finances. Overall I'm super excited for what's to come and how Alice will be introduced to us in this version of Iruma-Kun!

Thank you to the publisher for this ARC of Iruma-kun IruMafia Edition. I don't read manga as often anymore, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I never read the original Iruma-kun series before, so this review is coming from someone who doesn't know anything about the original series. I was still able to fully understand what was going on in this. I appreciated that it had an immediate start and the plot started right away.

There are some additional points that I liked about this volume. The first thing I noticed was how much I loved the art style and character designs, Iruma was so cute! And Kalego was so 😍. The designs were actually pretty unique which I appreciated. The humor was probably my favorite part of the story, it had good series moments with funny little comic relief panels. Like the way the art sometimes drew Don Sullivan as an egg killed me every time.

I will say though there were a couple of censored words, which I normally don't mind but I did not understand the context for some of them because of it. I couldn't tell if it was a translated censorship or part of the dialogue/original art. That's really the only critique I have only because it confused me and threw me off a little.

I do hope in this spin-off we get to see some significant character development from Iruma. He's a great character but I look forward to seeing how his character changes and maybe even gets hardened by the mafia. This issue definitely made me interested to continue reading, so thank you again for this ARC copy!

This special edition is everything I didn’t know I needed and more. It keeps the heart and humour of the original Iruma-kun series while giving it a deliciously chaotic twist with the mafia AU. The dramatic flair is turned up to eleven, the style is sleek and stylized, and I absolutely adored how it played with genre tropes while still staying true to the characters’ core personalities.

Iruma is still that lovable, wide-eyed chaos magnet we know and love—but now he’s caught up in turf wars and suit jackets and somehow it all works so well. The character redesigns? Chef’s kiss.

The humour is still top-tier, but there’s a little more edge here—and it fits perfectly.
My only note? I WANT MORE. I’d love to see this concept expanded—maybe a mini-series or spin-off with even more mafia-fied chaos.

Whether you’re a long-time fan or just love a weird, stylish remix of familiar favorites, this was an absolute treat. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read it early!

This manga was super cute and fun. I haven’t read welcome to demon school original arc so maybe someone who has read those would enjoy this more. There isn’t much of a plot to this, but it’s still fun to read. I’d recommend reading it. Artwork is good and the characters are likeable. It is a bit repetitive on the original premise of the book (age and how he was taken in), but it only happened maybe four times.

Welcome to Demon School, Iruma-Kun! Is one of my favorite anime’s and when I saw an AU spin off I was very interested. There’s a lot of callback to everyone being “demons” and I was interested to see how it would look in a mafia AU. We get introduced to Sullivan, Opera, and Kalego. Opera is one of my fave characters so I was so happy to see them! They seem to have a bigger role here than they do in the original series. I’m so excited to see how everyone else looks. We get a little tease of As-Kun at the end. I can’t wait to see Clara too. Like the friend group is going to see so cute and funny in this universe. Iruma is just as sweet, silly, and big hearted as he is in the original series. He always just wants to help and do what he can for others no matter what. This series is so wholesome and always makes me grin and laugh. I highly recommend this and the original if you enjoy cute supernatural anime!

Absolutely loved this spinoff of Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun!
There was a mafia theme throughout and the personalities of the characters in this spinoff stays true to their personalities in the main story. It is a fun read, flows well, and the art style is similar to the main story's. Thus far, the characters are introduced one at a time and have different situations where they are affected by Iruma's actions. Volume one left off with who will be entering the series next. As you can imagine, Iruma doesn't seem be fit for the position of second boss, but he is doing things his own way.

Will definitely be continuing this spinoff .

This is just an adorable adventure featuring a naive young man with a good heart who just so happens to be adopted into a mafia family. The first book is the strongest of the stories, where five year old Iruma doesn't know or understand what's going on while the reader does, allowing for more humor. The second and third story have a teenage Iruma -- who still has a good heart -- but focuses more on hi jinx.

Apparently this is an AU of an existing series, but having not read the original, I can only judge this one based on what there is to read, and I have to say I think it's a lot of fun. The manga is well drawn, the action scenes easy to follow, and the characters well designed. If you give this a try, I hope you enjoy it! Thank you so much to Net Galley and the publisher for the ARC!
