Online scams triggering female friendships should come with warning labels. Last year I got catfished by a "life coach" who cost me $3000, and my gym friend who helped me through it became weirdly possessive afterward. Reading about Paige "helping" Amelia made my paranoia sensors explode.
The daughters becoming best friends while their mothers play psychological warfare was evil genius. My daughter's friendships dictate my social life more than I'd like to admit - I've maintained relationships with moms I can't stand because our kids are inseparable. Using children as weapons while they innocently have playdates is diabolically realistic.
Paige pretending to be supportive while systematically destroying Amelia's life triggered memories of my toxic ex-best friend. She'd comfort me about problems she secretly caused - boyfriend troubles she orchestrated, work drama she initiated. That special hell of realizing your confidant is your saboteur made me nauseous reading this.
The yoga teacher setting hit close - I taught Pilates for years and the wellness community attracts both genuine healers and master manipulators. That veneer of namaste-spirituality hiding calculated destruction felt uncomfortably accurate. I've watched similar power plays unfold over studio ownership and client lists.
Watching Amelia's slow realization was agony. Every reader sees what's happening while she remains blind, trusting, grateful even. I wanted to scream warnings at her through the pages. That moment when the fog lifts and you see who someone really is - the author captured that sickening clarity perfectly.
The escalation from money to marriage to actual life felt inevitable yet shocking. Each boundary Paige crossed seemed impossible until it happened, then the next violation made the previous one seem minor.
My trust issues definitely increased after this. I side-eyed my helpful neighbor yesterday when she offered to pick up my groceries. This book weaponized female friendship in ways that'll haunt my social interactions for months.RetryClaude can make mistakes. Please double-check responses.

4 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Who doesn’t love a twisty thriller about a toxic friendship? This one totally fits the bill!
Best friends or worst enemies?
Amelia is a victim of an online scam and turns to her BFF Paige for comfort and advice. What she doesn’t know is that Paige has plans - plans to destroy Amelia. Will she succeed? You gotta read it to find out!
This is my first Miranda Rijks but, but it definitely won’t be my last. That red (my favorite color) cover really pulled me in and I’m glad I did.
If you like twisty and fast paced thrillers with a satisfying ending, you won’t be able to put this one down!
Thank you to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for my advanced copy to read and review.

A fast-paced thriller that does not offer anything new to the genre, but was still an entertaining read with a satisfying plot twist. It's told from three perspectives—mother, daughter, and an unhinged friend—but I wish the POVs of each character were more distinct and their psychology slightly deepened. The novel felt like reading about archetypes rather than real characters and I expected more from a topic of a toxic friendship, but I still could not put it down. In other words, don't expect too much from "You Can Trust Me" but trust that it'll offer thrills, twists, and a pleasant distraction!

This is one of those books you start and then don't want to put down as you're instantly pulled into the unfolding story. Told from multiple perspectives with alternating chapters, this is a twisting, turning story and every time I thought I knew what was happening there was another reveal. It's fast paced, with characters that are all a bit flawed, with neediness and jealousy. I loved it!

Amelia gets scammed out of her savings. Her daughter Marnie becomes best friends with her work friend Paige. Paige is not what she seems and her evil intentions are soon revealed. Things start snowballing and it's unbelievable how things progress. Just when you think things are resolved, another level of insanity you never expect reveals itself. Definitely one for psychological thriller fans.

This was a fast paced, mind-blowing psychological thriller. I absolutely disliked the character Paige. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, hatred just boiled through her blood. If you think you have this one figured out, you got another thing coming. This book will keep you guessing all the way to the end. I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes psychological thrillers. Miranda Rijks is a new author for me but I will definitely be reading more of her books!
Thank you NetGalley for the chance to read this ARC!

Such an enjoyable read! This was twisty and thrilling and I could not put it down. I read it all in one sitting.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was such a quick, twisty domestic thriller. I absolutely despised Paige. She was like a car wreck I couldn’t look away from. I couldn't get enough. If you think you have this one figured out, just wait there will be a twist you were not expecting. This book will keep you guessing all the way to the end. I highly recommend.

Quite the story, grips & pulls you in right from the beginning. Psychological Thriller about friendship gone wrong, with a heroic appeal. Told from multiple POV which right away I had to stop and think who was who but with each paragraph that got easier & enjoyed knowing what was going on in each character’s head leaving the paragraphs with a cliff hanger WANTING/NEEDING to read more. A twisted ending that will keep you guessing throughout.
I would def recommend this to any physical thriller lover.
Thank you NetGalley for the chance at this twisty, mind blowing ARC read!

Oh boy! The amazing Miranda Rijks does it again! Knocks another one clear out of the park. This one starts with a bang and just did not let up. Rijks is the queen of secrets and lies, not to mention nail biting tension! I always enjoy her writing, it’s highly addictive. Huge 5 stars from me.
Thank you NetGalley, Miranda Rijks and Inkubator Books for the opportunity to read and review this gem of a book. .

A fun and unique thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire ride. This was one where I really didn’t know what was going to happen next!

When Amelia, her husband Hudson and daughter Marnie find themselves in a situation that they did not expect and by who, they are left trying to pick up the pieces.
The story takes you on a path of distraction that no one could expect. Not just the characters themselves, but the people around them.
The ending had me realising I’d underestimated who exactly each of these were and why they set out to achieve what they did.
Definitely would recommend this one.

Jeez, what a book! This was such an amazing ride. The twists and turns never stopped, the characters were so well written and scarily realistic whilst also being the things of nightmares lol. Amazingly well written, engaging and entertaining. An absolute must

A Delightfully Deranged Page-Turner
Well, well, well. Miranda Rijks has gone and done it again – she's created a character so absolutely bonkers that I'm genuinely concerned about her mental health. And I mean that in the most complimentary way possible.
Meet Paige, the kind of woman who makes you grateful for your boring, stable friends who only complain about their coffee orders being wrong. This gal has elevated psychological warfare to an art form that would make Machiavelli weep with pride and maybe consider a career change. She's like if a Pinterest influencer and a Bond villain had a baby, then raised it exclusively on energy drinks and true crime podcasts.
Rijks has crafted a thriller so twisted, it makes a pretzel look like a straight line. I found myself simultaneously rooting for Paige and planning my witness protection program application. She's the kind of antagonist who probably color-codes her revenge plots and maintains a five-year strategic plan for emotional destruction – complete with quarterly reviews and performance metrics.
The pacing is relentless, like being chased by a very polite but determined serial killer who stops to say "excuse me" before stabbing you. I devoured this book faster than Paige devours her enemies' hopes and dreams, which is saying something because that woman has the appetite of a psychological vampire at an all-you-can-eat feelings buffet.
The plot twists come at you like a drunk GPS – just when you think you know where you're going, BAM! Sudden left turn into Crazytown, population: Paige and whatever's left of her moral compass (spoiler alert: it's been missing since approximately page 12).
Miranda Rijks proves once again that the most dangerous weapon isn't a knife or a gun – it's a brilliant woman with too much time on her hands and a really, really good memory for grudges. This book is perfect for anyone who's ever wondered what would happen if their most organized friend finally snapped and decided to use their project management skills for evil instead of PTA fundraisers.
Fair warning: after reading this, you might find yourself looking at your own friends suspiciously, wondering if their helpful suggestions are actually part of an elaborate 47-step plan for your downfall. But hey, at least you'll be entertained while you're being paranoid!
Bottom line: If you enjoy psychological thrillers that make you question everyone's motives (including your own), and you're not afraid of a protagonist who could probably gaslight a therapist, then this book is for you. Just maybe don't read it right before a dinner party – trust me on this one.

If anything this book shouts; trust nobody and that madness could run in a person's genes. A person's entire life can be ruined completely by trusting the wrong person. The story was full of suspense, an unputdownable.

You Can Trust Me by Miranda Rijks is a fast paced psychological thriller and was a superb book from start to finish, it was full of brilliant twists and turns throughout that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. This was a book once I started to read it, I could not put it down, Miranda has a way of writing that will entertain you from the very beginning till the very end, she just draws you into the story and this one was no different. Superb author.
I highly recommend You Can Trust Me.........But can you? 🥹

So many twists and turns through out this book. I thought I had figured it out who was behind all the drama but boy, was I wrong. The ending was amazing. This author sure knows how to deliver a thrilling read.

This was amazing!
I had no idea what to expect and it ended up being a great thriller! Highly recommend
I look forward for more from this author!!

This was a fun suspense novel focusing on Amelia and Paige, both yoga instructors. The book has multiple POV, but mainly these two women.
They are friends but also rivals. Amelia is rich, married, and gorgeous, while Paige is struggling to make ends meet and is a single mother with a blue-collar boyfriend named Dean. Her unhappiness and deep jealousy of Amelia's life fuel her to trick Amelia into being her friend.
Meanwhile, the daughters of the women slowly develop a friendship, but all the while, you really dont know who you can trust. Are the friendships sincere? Is Amelia hiding something? What grudge is Paige holding and why?
This was a quick read, and right until the last page, I was totally engaged. If you haven't read any of Miranda Rijks books, they are all great! Don't miss this one.

Popcorn thriller about a woman determined to ruin the life of another woman. Paige and Amelia teach yoga together and they each have a teenage daughter. While Amelia is happy to find a new friend, Paige has a goal of ruining Amelia's life. At times this was hard to read as Amelia is first scammed out of all her savings, then her teenage daughter is catfished into sending inappropriate pictures and shoplifting. This was only the beginning of the increasingly bad things happening to this family. As things get worse and worse, Amelia feels the only friend she can count is Paige; the very person who is behind all of it. .
I kept hoping for Amelia to look closer at things that were happening but since one of Paige's goals was to cause strife between Amelia and her husband and daughter, the family weren't communicating well leaving Amelia at a loss as to what to do to reclaim their lives. Amelia's daughter Marnie also became best friends with Paige's daughter Taryn and thought she was finding refuge in her friend's home. As usual, the author throws in a couple of twists at the end which were fun and unexpected. This was a quick, beach read type of thriller along the lines of a Freda McFadden of book. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this ARC in exchange for a review.
