This book was so good!! I loved the storyline of this book, the pacing, the twists and the characters. I was hooked from the start. I did find some things in the book to be a little unbelievable, but I didn’t mind really, I think it just adds to the story.

Amelia is a warm and well-meaning yoga instructor whose life starts to spiral out of control when she falls for an online scam. Enter Paige, generous and supportive, she offers a helping hand to Amelia in her time of need. Helping with Amelia's finances, bonding with her daughter, and supporting her marriage, Paige infiltrates every facet of Amelia's life. But behind Paige's altruistic gestures, she is planning on dismantling Amelia's life piece by piece.

I absolutely love Miranda Rijks work! Every time I see that she has a new book coming out I just know it's going to be good! You Can Trust Me is a slow burning psychological thriller that explores the nuances of female friendships and betrayal. With alternating POVs you get a front row seat to all of the action, especially with Paige. She is one of those characters that you just can't help but be fascinated by with her cunning, manipulative and deceptive behavior. The best thing with Paige is it's not about if she will strike but rather how far she is willing to take it! With gradually building tension and a deliberate pace, this is a standout novel of high psychological stakes. Overall, if you love thrillers that are all about unreliable relationships, manipulation, and multi-layered characters, You Can Trust Me is well worth your time! Trust me 😉

Thank you to NetGalley, Miranda Rijks, and Inkubator Books for this ARC! Publication date is July 20th 2025.

I have not read Marianda Rijks before, but i will read more from her in the future. I love a twisty domestic thriller. It took me a little bit to get into the story, but in the end it did not disappoint. There were some twists I had guessed and some I had not, which made me enjoy the book more.

Miranda Rijks delivers a gripping and mind-bending psychological thriller with You Can Trust Me, a novel that keeps readers questioning everything from the very first page. This is one of those rare stories where nothing is as it seems, and just when you think you have it figured out, another twist shatters your assumptions.
Rijks masterfully builds suspense with a sense of unease that lingers throughout. The plot is intricately layered, each chapter revealing new puzzles that deepen the mystery rather than solve it. Her ability to keep the reader off balance is what makes this story so compelling—you’re constantly asking what’s really going on, and the truth remains just out of reach until the very end.
The final twist lands with impact, leaving you stunned and reflecting on the story long after it ends. You Can Trust Me is not just a title—it’s a clever dare from an author who knows exactly how to manipulate the reader’s trust. A brilliant, addictive read that showcases Miranda Rijks at her most devious and entertaining.

summary:
This book follows Amelia, a yoga instructor who becomes the victim of an online scam. Her friend Paige steps in to help, supporting Amelia and seemingly becoming her closest ally while their daughters become friends as well. As Amelia leans more on Paige, it becomes clear that Paige has ulterior motives. She begins to try to destroy Amelia’s life — her finances, business, and marriage—all while maintaining her role as trusted friend and confidant. How far will she go before she ruins Amelia’s life?

This book highlights the reality of going from friendship to manipulation and about who you can really trust. We get to know the four women — Amelia, her daughter, Marnie, Paige and her daughter, Taryn, well, but admittedly none of them are particularly likable. They’re all in manipulative and exploitive relationships, and use the people in their lives in one way or the other. It even gets hard to read at some points, with Amelia suffering in all aspects of her life, seemingly oblivious as to why while she continues to trust Paige. Despite this, it’s an easy read that moves quickly, and the escalating drama keeps you hooked until the very last page.

If you’re looking for a quick read that’ll keep you guessing, check this book out when it releases on July 20. Thanks to Inkubator Books and NetGalley for the advanced copy!

You Can Trust Me
Miranda Rijks

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This author is one of my auto-buy authors now having already read and loved eight of their books ....so far!
Apart from the fact that I'd have read this regardless, just look at this cover!
I love the way the eye is peeking through the material and it's even incorporated into the title too.
Definitely one that would stand out and catch my eye.

As ever, I was completely hooked in right from the start.
Rijks has such a way of creating the right tension and atmosphere that sucks you into the storyline and holds you there and once I'd started, I just couldn't stop.

I loved our main characters...yes! even the not so likeable ones.
Paige was such a great character to explore and we saw pretty early on that she was going to be bad news for Amelia - but she was so good at hiding that from her.
It takes us quite a while though, to work out what it is that's motivating her and even when I thought I'd worked it out, I was still shocked by the twists and final reveal.

I loved the multi pov format in this one and it allows us to work through the events, whilst also getting to know our characters inside and out.
This story builds up slowly but by halfway, sets off at a brisk pace which had me on edge, through to the end.

Another great read and of course, I'm eagerly awaiting the next one .....

Whew! This book has multiple POVs which I normally stay away from but it’s easy to read and not hard to follow at all. This is a psychological thriller about toxic friendships that keeps readers guessing until the end. This book illustrates how easily one can turn someone’s life into a bloody nightmare and how difficult it can be to prove the truth.

Book overview
They were the best of friends. And the worst of enemies.
When yoga teacher Amelia falls victim to an online scam, her colleague Paige really comes through for her. And with their daughters Marnie and Taryn becoming best friends, the two families grow even closer. But all is not as it seems. Paige has an agenda.

Once she has won Amelia’s trust, Paige starts to execute her carefully laid plan… stealing Amelia’s money, destroying her business, undermining her marriage. All the while pretending to be Amelia’s closest friend.

Will Amelia realize what’s going on before it’s too late? Or will Paige succeed in turning her life into a living hell before finally extinguishing it?

Two women trapped in a fight to the bitter end – the best of friends, the worst of enemies.

Thank you to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for this ARC in exchange for my review.

Miranda Rijks returns with a gripping domestic suspense novel, YOU CAN TRUST ME, where the line between friends and foes blurs in this heart-pounding thriller of betrayal and suspense.

Trust NO one!

About...

They were best of friends UNTIL...

Amelia and Paige are yoga teachers at the same studio. Amelia falls victim to an online scam, a seemingly harmless incident that sets off a chain of events. Her colleague, Paige, is there to support her, seemingly as if they were best friends. Even their daughters, Marnie and Taryn, become best friends.

However, once the predator (Paige) has her prey where she wants her, she begins to slowly tear down Amelia's life, piece by piece, all the while pretending to be her BFF. How about her daughter? Can she be trusted as well?

Will Amelia figure out what is going on before she loses everything?

Get ready for a wild roller coaster ride!

My thoughts...

Does your friend have your back, or is she delighting a little too much in your fall?

Rijks knows how to keep her characters embroiled in fear, confusion, fraud, scams, destruction, tricks, and entangle them in the worst of circumstances.

Paige’s agenda is EVIL...from stolen money, sabotaged business, to her supposedly friend's marriage, and it does not stop there.

YOU CAN TRUST ME delves deep into the world of toxic friendship, unraveling a twisted plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat, wondering why Paige is so set on revenge and what Amelia might have done to trigger such a response.

Told from the perspectives of Amelia, Paige, and Marnie, the novel delves into a wickedly delicious game of manipulation, lies, betrayal, and drama. As always, I enjoyed the inspiration behind the story.

Recs...

The novel is for fans of the author and those who enjoy works by Emily Shiner, Valerie Keogh, Freida McFadden, Daniel Hurst, Liz Alterman, and Keri Beevis.

I am grateful to Inkubator Books and NetGalley for providing me with an advance reading copy, which has allowed me to share my honest thoughts about this compelling novel.

Wellll… that ending?? WILD—and I LOVED it!

I’ve been lucky enough to read 15 Miranda Rijks thrillers now, and let me tell you—she never misses when it comes to jaw-dropping twists and a helluva punch at the finish.

This one’s got it all: envy, rage, betrayal, secrets, and yep… death.

It’s captivating, unhinged, darkly thrilling, and juuust over-the-top enough to keep things unsettling in the best way. If you’re into twisty thrillers where women come for each other with venom, precision, and zero remorse—this is your next read.

Be on the lookout—this one drops July 20th!

Big thanks to NetGalley, Miranda Rijks, and Inkubator Books for gifting me this four-star ARC in exchange for a candid review!

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. Honestly, after reading the first few pages, I was thinking this book is not for me. But I went ahead with it and it was so good! I normally don't stay awake late reading but I found myself not able to go back to sleep until I finished it! The book is told in parts by two women and their daughters. I liked that even though it was a thriller, you knew while you were reading it who did what but still had twists and surprises at the end. I highly recommend this book!!!!!

You Can Trust Me by Miranda Rijks was an absolute rush!! What a story! Each chapter was a new disaster unfolding. With friends like Paige, who needs enemies?

If you're looking for a quick and juicy read, this is the one for you. I found myself reading it at the dinner table to find out what new scheme Paige was cooking up.

Holy smokes! This author never ceases to amaze with her talent for writing a dramatic thriller that will leave you shocked. The tension builds with each chapter as this evil woman's master plan plays itself out. Even though it is stretched over many pages, it never gets dull because I was wondering what horrible thing Paige could come up with next. This was woman was diabolical, cunning and unhinged with hatred. Just when I thought I could not be more shocked, there was another twist around the corner. You will hate Paige and feel sorry for Amelia.

Paige has some definite anger issues, and her green with envy is more red than green. This book hits on a lot of different things that could be a real warning in the digital age we live in. This one left me thrilled and chilled.

Thank you to Inkubator Books and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Meet Paiige

You wont forget her!

I cant ever remember a character that made me actually laugh in shock at her audacity

Some love to hate characters have that smidgen of niceness that can be reached occasionally

Paige doesn’t

I think in all honesty there could be a new ‘path’ named after her behaviour

She is wickedly cleverly manipulatively terrifyingly all bad….and so of course absolutely wonderfully shockingly awesome to read about

I have read many characters but Paige doesnt just take the biscuit she takes the packet, she is impossible to forget

And she is a big part of this addictive read which has turned out to be a fav this year

Honestly this book is stand out good

I was quickly pulled into this story. The pace is fast and you can't trust anyone in this twisted read. The characters are well-developed and it's told from various perspectives. Amelia, a yoga teacher, has been the victim of an online scam. Some readers might be shocked by the ending.
