This book is all about manipulation behind smiles, where the closest person can do the most damage. Chilling, sneaky, and deeply personal.

You Can Trust Me has all the makings of a compelling domestic thriller—secrets, manipulation, and a protagonist who finds herself tangled in a web of lies. The premise is intriguing: a woman trying to rebuild her life after a tragedy, only to find that trust is the most dangerous thing of all.

Miranda Rijks delivers her usual fast-paced storytelling and short, punchy chapters that make for a quick read. However, while the pacing kept things moving, the plot felt a bit too predictable. Some twists you could see coming a mile away, and a few characters lacked the depth needed to make their actions believable.

The main character was relatable at first, but her decisions grew increasingly frustrating, and by the end, I found it hard to stay invested in her journey. There were also a few convenient plot devices that felt more like shortcuts than surprises.

That said, Rijks knows how to create tension, and the book does a solid job of keeping you curious until the final chapter. If you're looking for a light, bingeable thriller, this might work—but don’t expect anything groundbreaking.

⭐️ DNF for me. The plot had Lifetime movie vibes—which I admit, I enjoy—but the writing just didn’t work for me. I couldn’t get into the characters or the dialogue, and it all felt a little flat.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this advanced e-copy in exchange for my honest opinion!

This story follows co workers that live different lives, between the daughter drama and the retaliation for something that could or could not have been prevented, the who is who keeps going

It did keep me intrigued but not as much as I hoped

I expected this book to be a slow burner but I read it in 24 hours.

I love how each chapter is written about each person in the book as it gives you a feel of each character and what is going on from their perspective

The twist and the end was not expected at all
And I'll definitely be looking to read more from this author

I was in need of a fast read with colourful characters. Well, what better to read than Miranda Rijks? ‘Fast read’ is not to say that there isn’t any depth in the story. In this book there’s enough going on between the main characters Paige, Amelia and their daughters Marnie and Taryn. It’s a pity the blurb gives so much away already; I would have liked to find out for myself what was going on at the start.
I felt in times really sorry for Amelia, for being caught in a boring and loveless relationship with a teenage daughter who, as almost every teenager, doesn’t want to communicate with her mother. Despite all the yoga Amelia teaches, she’s often a bundle of nerves.
Despite the fast pace of the story, the tension builds slowly but surely and makes the reader guess where this would end.
Well done Miranda, for giving your readers this story!

I thought it was a good book. Took a little longer to get into but never saw the twist coming at the end!! I really liked it!

DNF at about 21%. Unfortunately this one didn’t do it for me. I had high hopes but it was not something I could read

This book is full of betrayal and secrets! The story is told from the point of view of several characters in a way that is easy to follow and keeps the suspense building. Lots of drama between characters and some satisfying twists near the end. You Can Trust Me is the definition of what a psychological thriller should be!

WOW!!!!

I absolutely loved this. This is the first book that I’ve read from this author and it was fantastic. The flow of the book was great, very easy to pick up where I left off (I wish I could have stayed off work to read it all in one go).

I loved the characters, they were likeable. The plot was great, just when you think there can’t be anymore twists and turns, there surely is.

Thank you so much for the early access to read you can trust me. Wishing Miranda every success on publication day

Miranda Rijks always has me turning the pages well into the night. I couldn’t stop reading this twisty domestic thriller. What a truly awful person Paige is! i really did want to shake Amelia and open her eyes. So frustrating but that is what makes a good story right.

I thought again that I had this all worked out and once again I was wrong. A story of friendship, jealousy, betrayal, so much drama and lies. Paige really had it in for Amelia and we don’t understand why until close to the end. Yoga teachers are meant to be serene and kind aren’t they! it was just non stop for poor Amelia and I did feel for her.

I flew through this book and highly recommend it. Publishes on July 20th. Thanks so much to NetGalley, Inkubator Books and Miranda for having me on her early readers team. Always such a pleasure.

Talk about a book of betrayal! I loved this book. Not knowing the hidden agenda and who can and cannot be trusted, I could not put this one down. I adored every character, even villain Paige. Miranda does such a good job making these characters relatable and giving them such personality. If psychological thrillers are your genre, this is a MUST read. The end will have you spiraling!!

Thank you Netgalley, Miranda Rijks and Inkubator Books for the eArc of You Can Trust Me.

You Can Trust Me, is a fast paced page turner of a book! Told from 4 POvs which flow together really well. We have Amelia and Paige who are both Yoga teachers at the same place. You can tell from the off that Paige has it in for Amelia. Jealously and hatred is a main driver but we don't get to know why till near the end. We also have the POV's of their daughters. Marnie and Taryn, both have agenda's of their own.

As this narrative is told in 1st person, we get to know what's going on inside each character's heads. Each character is well built, flawed and in the case of Amelia, downright nasty. So this makes a great frenemies domestic psychological thriller. The side characters, which contain a mutual circle of friends of Amelia's and Paige's as well as their Husbands are still well built even though they aren't in the limelight. The finale was well executed with some good stacked twists and the ending,

4.25 stars for Storygraph and 4 stars for other review sites.

Well this was a dark and twisted read. We know from the get go that Paige wants to to ruin Amelia's life what we don;t know is why and we don't know the extra layer to this story until the final twist.

Couldn't put this down, kept me on my toes all the way through.

Would thoroughly recommend this. Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to review this book, this is my honest opinion.

You Can Trust Me by Miranda Rijks is a fast paced domestic thriller told through multiple points of view. I really enjoyed this aspect. Each perspective was easy to follow and distinct, even when the story shifted into the mind of someone with deeply disturbing intentions. That added a really intriguing psychological layer.

The story follows Amelia, her daughter, and her friend Paige. What starts as a close friendship quickly turns sinister when Paige’s true motives come to light. The tension builds as Paige and her daughter begin manipulating Amelia’s family in increasingly twisted ways. Without giving too much away, the story takes a dark turn involving catfishing, betrayal, and revenge with a major plot twist at the end that explains everything.

I flew through this in one evening. The writing is engaging and the pacing kept me hooked. My only critique is that I wished for a bit more suspense. I was hoping for a few more jaw dropping moments and a couple of characters introduced early on didn’t play much of a role later, which left their presence feeling a little unfinished.

That said, this is a solid, compelling thriller and I’m definitely interested in reading more by Miranda Rijks. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Thank you, NetGalley, Inkubator and Miranda Rijks for this ARC.

Paige is so shady. I so hated this character! I couldn't believe how much trust Amelia had in someone she just met. Amelia's life is falling apart because of her so called friend, I don't know how many times I wanted to yell "open your eyes!" The story kept my interest even though the characters were so frustrating and annoying. Guess in a way that made it for a good read. I know I had difficult putting it down especially since I wanted to see what Paige was going to do next. I also wanted Amelia to figure it all out. I should also mention that both of their daughters also seemed to be involved with all the games. So you know when you add 2 teenage girls into the mix, the reading really got interesting.

This book kind of gave me Frieda McFadden vibes and I loved it. I have read other books by this author but this one is by far one of my favorites by her.

You may never trust anyone ever again after reading this latest Miranda Rijks! I flew through the short, fast paced, easily read chapters, written from multiple POVs and couldn’t read fast enough. The story just kept twisting
Paige is a truly despicable character but my human curiosity kept me reading/wondering just how much more despicable she (and the other characters) could be…… Turns out -a lot!
This was a one day read for me - might just be my new favourite by Miranda Rijks. (4.5/5)
Thank You to NetGalley, Inkubator Books, and Miranda Rijks for the opportunity to read and guiltily enjoy this ARC.

As someone who grew up watching those Lifetime Thrillers, this book gave me such a vibe and I loved it because it made me feel nostalgic. The plot itself was amazing, the author had you hooked from the beginning and you think you have it all figured it only for your mind to be blown completely away. This was a pretty quick read and I enjoyed it, because I was eager to see where this story was going.
