I loved absolutely everything about this! Forgive-Me-Not is an original fairytale in a graphic novel format suitable for YA readers. The main idea is that Aisling is a princess who is actually a hobgoblin. She was switched with the real princess at birth but neither she nor her parents knew. Forget-Me-Not aka Not is the real human princess, but she's been raised in the fae realm and *shocker* the fae don't like humans, so her life has been absolutely miserable. She is kind of like a mercenary, maybe? It seems like she gets hired to hurt or kill different fae people. Not goes to collect Aisling on their 18th birthday with the intention of leaving Aisling behind in the fae world but oops they catch feelings for each other along the way ๐Ÿ˜… how did that happen?

The art is absolutely gorgeous, which makes sense as the author is an animator. This would make a stunning addition to anyone's library, but LGBTQIA+ middle or high school students would especially enjoy it. For content warnings, there is some violence but no s*x or nudity, just kissing.

Between the beautiful artwork and the queer fairytale vibes, I thought this was lovely! Forgive-Me-Not is about a princess and a changeling on a wild journey to correct a fae scheme that was carried out when they were babies, and it was so fun to see the dynamic between the two evolve. Aisling and Forget-Me-Not have such good back and forth banter, and their little moments of developing a crush on each other were so cute. We love a unique fantasy story with engaging action and chaotic queer characters!

A super cute and charming story! I loved the dynamic between the princess and the changeling who took her placeโ€”they balanced each other perfectly. The ending was very satisfying, and I can definitely see myself rereading this in the future.
Costaโ€™s artwork is, as always, stunning, and the cozy, fairy tale atmosphere was a delight. I really enjoyed the characters and the plot. My only minor critique is that the romance felt a bit rushed compared to Life of Melody, but given the fairy tale vibe, the insta-love fits.
Itโ€™s wonderful to see a modern fairy tale that queer teens can both enjoy and see themselves in.

Thank you to net galley for giving me an early copy of this book. I really enjoyed this take on the changling story. The art was wonderful. And the storyline was cute. The main character Aisling was adorable. I liked that the two main characters eventually found love for each other despite what them being switch at birth had meant for them, more for Not of course as her treatment by the fae was not always the best. An adorable love story!

This sapphic fae romance begins with a twist, the princess was the changeling all along. I enjoyed it for the charming characters.

So sweet it'll rot your teeth clean out of your mouth. What an absolutely delight.

Forgive-Me-Not is the story of a changeling fae princess who is kidnapped by the child she replaced, looking to bring her to the Seelie Court and win her freedom from an Unseelie courtier. First off, the art is delightful. The way that Costa plays with colors in the story is fantastic; I love the way it shifts from vibrancy in the romance scenes to deep purples and blues in their tenses moments. Secondly, the story is a delight. The pacing is quick but still gives room for the characters to develop and the plot to breathe. I like that the plot is not overly complicated, which gives Aisling and Not a chance to shine. Any teen is going to fall in love with them (and their love story).

I'm definitely picking this up for my library, and encourage you to do the same.

Super cute story! I enjoyed the Princess and Not, how they complimented each other nicely. Very pleased with the ending. Will definitely be rereading in the future โ˜บ๏ธ

What a cute and heartwarming story!

With a world-building akin to The Cruel Prince, a sapphic love story, and a kidnapping instead of a rescue, it took the fairy tale to another level. However, the love story was missing some depth. While "insta love" is common in fairy tales, I wanted more out of these characters. Maybe it's only because the read flew by too fast and I wasn't ready to say goodbye.

I have recently rediscovered my love for graphic novels and Forgive-Me-Not has played a huge role in that revelation. This was so cute and had the perfect amount of whimsy. I loved the art style and the story-telling. I would love to read more graphic novels with a fantasy setting like this one. This was a refreshing medium to enjoy a fantasy story. It feels like graphic novels are mostly about superheroes and slice-of-life stories so it was really nice to see fairies and hobgoblins and magic included in one. I also appreciate how the author had two LGBT main characters without making it a big deal. It was nice for a characters sexuality not to be the main focus of a story. It was just a part of the story in the same way it wouldโ€™ve been if they had been heterosexual. My only complaint about this story is that I am going to have to wait so long to get my hands on a physical copy.

A cute, charming, and cozy read about a princess and the changeling that took her place. Costa's art, as always, was gorgeous. I enjoyed the characters and the plot. My only complaint is that the romance aspect felt rushed as opposed to Costa's previous work, Life of Melody. However, I can forgive this as insta-love is a common convention in fairy tales. It's wonderful to see a modern fairy tale that queer teens can love and relate to. I'm excited to see this on shelves!

I absolutely adored this story. The illustrations were great and I loooooved the story. It started like something I'd read before and then changed and became so wholly original and great all over. I loved it so so so much. I loved the characters and the world and the magic system and the setting and the plot. Just everything. It was perfect and I can't wait to read it again and again and again.

I really enjoyed this graphic novel. It was super sweet and the artwork is absolutely stunning! I loved the color composition Mari Costa uses in this story. The bright colors are inviting and invoke strong feelings. I really loved the idea of this book as well. Aisling was such a kind character and I loved how selfless she was. I also love the turmoil that Not had when working and getting to know Aisling. Being raised in the Unseelie and tormented by the fae showed the need for her resilience and strength, but she allowed herself to soften and even let her guard down around Aisling. It was such a sweet book. I will say that the ending did feel a bit abrupt. It was fast, but did not take too much away from the story. I enjoyed how the book ended and certainly recommend this graphic novel when it is published.

Thank you NetGalley and First Second books for this arc!

First, let me just say that I LOVED THIS. The art is amazing and so cute. And I loved the two main characters! As the story unfolds we learn more about each character and their childhoods, and it's bittersweet. I legit almost teared up a few times. I loved watching the characters learn more about each other and fall in love, even if it's begrudging at first. I love a good enemies to lovers! I was looking for a quick, romantic read to start the fall season (it's fall in my heart even if it's 100 degrees out), and this was perfect for that!

I LOVED THIS!!! The art style was amazing, the cozy queer elements were sooooo heart wrenching and incredible. It is so wonderful to have sapphic stories be told so beautifully and sweetly. 5/5. Would definitely read again!!!

Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC of this book.

Pros:
-Beautiful artwork
-Single sitting read
-Good amount of world-building and an interesting fae world

Meh:
-It was a little instalove for me. They go from enemies to lovers in less than a week, but it's a fairytale, so what do you expect?

Forgive-Me-Not is an adorable queer enemies-to-lovers romantasy graphic novel. I adored the artwork and character design. The story is paced well with action, world-building, and romance intertwining. Not and Aisling's relationship is a believable progression, although that final panel ending needed a time jump for me.

Recommended age: 14-18

โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜… Whimsical, romantic, and full of heart

This graphic novel was such a delight. The art is gorgeous, the faerie world feels dreamy and chaotic, and the enemies-to-lovers tension between Aisling and Forget-Me-Not is everything. I loved how the story played with classic fairy tale tropes while still feeling fresh and queer. Some pacing felt a little quick, but overall it was a magical, emotional ride I didnโ€™t want to end. Perfect for fans of sapphic fantasy and slow-burn romance.

Such a sweet and quick read with beautiful illustrations! So glad I got to sneak a peek at this graphic novel ahead of it's release date!

I should have realized from the art style that Mari Costa also worked on Life of Melody, another heartwarming comic about found family.

Forgive-Me-Not is short, sweet, and worth the read.
