I loved this so much! I loved the characters, the plot, the art style and color choices, everything. My only complaints are that it felt just a touch rushed in places and I simply want to read more!

This was such a cute read! Had me giggling and on the edge of my seat. Aisling has grown up in the human realm as a princess , sole heir, and a true romantic. This life is all she has ever known. Until the night before her 18th, she is taken captive by a human slave who reveals Aislings true nature as a changling. Her captive, Forget-me-not turns out to be the true princess Aisling switched places with as a babe. In hopes for freedom, Forget-me-not plans to exchange Aisling taking her to the land of the Fae. However, Aisling has made plans of her own.
I thoroughly enjoyed following along with Aisling and Forget-me-not in their journey discovering themselves. Wonderful enemies to lovers theme showing how far they were willing to go for each other despite their differences. The art style? so phenomenally cute and I loved the sketched in-between chapters. Amazing how much we were able to connect with the characters in such a short amount of time to the point I even cried a little for Forget-me-not's past.
Thank you Netgalley for providing this arc in exchange for an honest review!!

This is what a fairytale is supposed to be. This fairytale is both dark and joyous. We have a princess who wants nothing more than to dance and find true love. Until she is stolen into the underworld to be returned to the Seeley Court. Turns out the princess is a changeling and is actually a hobgoblin. Forgive me not is the real princess but at the same time she is no princess. She just wants a life that is free. This book is adventurous. It’s sweet. It’s romantic in all the best ways. The illustrations are colorful, bright heartwarming, and endearing. This is what a fairytale should be and it’s safe to boot.

✨ This YA graphic novel is an absolute gem. From the very first page, the art style pulls you in—cozy, whimsical, and beautifully aesthetic, it sets the perfect tone for the story.
💘 At its heart is a charming enemies-to-lovers romance that’s sweet, PG-rated, and refreshingly appropriate for younger audiences. In a time when YA often pushes boundaries, this one strikes a lovely balance—romantic without being over the top.
😂 The humor is spot-on: witty, clever, and genuinely laugh-out-loud in places. It made the entire read feel like a joyful escape, and I found myself breezing through it in one sitting—I simply couldn’t put it down.

In the latest work from Mari Costa we follow our two main characters, changeling Aisling and the woman she replaced: Forget-Me-Not.
Days before her 18th birthday, Aisling discovers she is not what she has always believed as she is stolen away from the castle and whisked into the world of the Fae so Forget-Me-Not can bargain to end a contract she has been forced into in the Unseelie Court
Neither fast nor slow paced, we slog through what is intended to be an enemies to lovers romance in an underdeveloped landscape. Considering the length, especially for a graphic novel, it felt very drawn out without much happening. The opportunity for world-building was underutilized and whilst Mari Costa’s artwork really shined in the scenery and fantastical creatures, it felt like we jumped from incident to incident
As for other characters, where? There are two others essentially in total who serve to act more as something for our protagonists to bounce off and are kept very two dimensional
I expect if you are a fan of the genre and traditional fantasy storytelling you may find some joy in this but unfortunately it just fell flat for me. Despite the above, I do believe I’ll venture further into the authors other work, especially if the same colourist was used as that was the best aspect for me
(Also on a side note, I wasn’t personally a fan of the type but that’s by the by and didn’t deter too much from the art and storytelling)
Thank you to publisher for the arc! I love you First Second, I love you!!!!

Forgive-Me-Not was such a sweet surprise of a book - when I requested the ARC, I didn’t actually realize it was a graphic novel. This book absolutely stole my heart - Aisling and Forget-Me-Not’s story was so beautiful, filled with all the twists and turns of a classic fairy tale.
I also enjoyed that Mari Costa gave the characters a bit more depth than in many of the classic Disney type stories many of us grew up on. And unlike those stories, it was also a queer love story for the ages🥹
I read this in a sitting, and it was such a lovely way to get swept away. An enchanted two hours where time stood still. I couldn’t help but reading slowly to appreciate the art😍
The art is absolutely gorgeous, I am obsessed with these two, and just with experiencing an LGBTQIA+ fairy tale. I was still closeted as a teen (trans nonbinary, demisexual🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️), and didn’t find the joy of these stories and experiences when I was that age, and this story felt like giving something back to my younger, queer self who didn’t get to see the light of day. I loved fantasy, adventures, and fairy tales as a kid and teen (and as an adult, let’s be honest😊), and I know this one will live rent free in my head (and heart) forever💜✨ I especially loved Forget-Me-Not’s masculine/enby vibe - it was so special to see that in a fairy tale, it made my heart so happy🥹 I can’t wait to get my physical copy!!
Thank you so so very much to NetGalley and FirstSecond publishers for this lovely ebook advanced copy. This is my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for extending me and ARC of Forgive-Me-Not. It proved to be a very cute, fun and whimsy graphic novel. The art was gorgeous. I only wish they built up the romance a bit more, but the rest of the story was perfect!!

Fairy tales have always captured my heart, and Mari Costa delivers a beautifully unique story inspired by the changeling myth!
Aisling has no idea of her true identity until a blade-wielding girl appears in her bedroom right before her 18th birthday, shatters the illusion, and then drags her away into the night. Forgive-Me-Not is in fact the true princess of the realm, having grown up in the fae realm under the "care" of a truly terrible fae.
Their shared journey of heartaches, unexpected discoveries, and developing friendship was amazing to watch unfold, and I inhaled every gorgeous page of this lovely tale as quickly as I could turn them. The author freely admits that her goal was to write the sort of story she would have loved as a kid--heartfelt, sappy, and totally and completely sapphic--and she absolutely nailed it! I highly recommend it to romantasy readers, especially those who adore fairy tales.

This was a very cute graphic novel! The art was absolutely stunning, truly! I loved it so much. It’s a quick read, the characters were adorable and the story was cute! At times the story felt very middle grade and cheesy, but was advertised to be young adult with characters 17/18 years old. There was some bloody content, but overall this was an innocent story with hidden dark undertones.

{Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!}
Very, very, very cute!
I'm glad I got approved for this one because it was such a joy to read. Cute story between a changeling (who didn't know she was a changeling at all) and a lost princess who longs for the freedom she has been wrongfully denied. I won't act like this was a cutting-edge story, it's pretty obvious what way the story will proceed and that a happy ending is imminent, but that doesn't hamper my enjoyment. The art style is to die for and the sweetness of it all is contagious. I couldn't put it down even when I tried.
My only critique I have is that I wish the "big bad" had a bit more precedence. A lot of the side characters felt very impertinent to the story, including the bad guy, which isn't super great. He isn't scary so much as he's just looming in the back waiting for his time in the plot to wax and then wane. We get tidbits, but I felt like there could have been more suspense.
But even that doesn't hinder my joy! I definitely want this on my shelf. 5/5.

"Forgive-Me-Not" by Mari Costa is about Forget-Me-Not and Aisling, a princess and her changeling, respectively, Aisling having been switched at birth for Not. Aisling comes to understand secrets long hidden from her, such as her changeling nature, Not begins to realize that her future can be much more than she expected, and all along the way, a beautiful sapphic love story is unfolding.
Forgive-Me-Not has absolutely adorable, vibrant art, that contrasts beautifully with the more dark and dramatic moments throughout the story. The relationship between Not and Aisling is simply so cute, and the world is also so incredibly magical in more ways than the literal. I found myself not wanting to put this book down even once, and simply didn't - I read it all in one sitting, which hasn't happened in a while! This is definitely one I'll be picking up a physical copy of when it publishes next year. I already recommended it to a friend of mine that I'm sure will love it!

This was such a cute story. I really enjoyed reading it, and loved the artwork as well. I'm a sucker for short and sweet stories with happy endings.

I absolutely ate this coming-of-age graphic novel up! Not only is the artwork magical, but the story itself carries a lot of heart and is very reminiscent of old fairy tales. I loved how the author also incorporated elements from actual folklore about faeries and their domain. The gradual progression from enemies-to-lovers in this romance was very sweet too. Not to mention a bit of humor in the mix, which is always a plus. The pacing did feel a little rushed, hence the 4/5 stars, but, otherwise, I definitely recommend this graphic novel for any fan of fairy tales, adventure, and romance.

Forget-Me-Not was such a sweet graphic novel. The visuals were so beautiful and watching the love story unfold was so heartwarming!

Since her webcomic Peritale is never going to finish (and for that I cry), I'm glad we can have this bc man, it brought me back to when I used to read that webcomic weekly way back when. It follows similar themes with having idealist with the realist in a incredibly cute sapphic, fantasy setting. And I ate it up again here as I did back then.
It's cheesy, it's predictable, but it's well written with an interesting message and well-thought-out worldbuilding that I am hoping for the best with Not and Asling.
I will say that it's pretty rushed though towards the end with the villain and such, but eh. It was still a solid and cute read.

What a cute story! The title and cover drew me in and I was not disappointed. Forgive-me-not had me hooked with the beautiful artwork, and cute story, and the art style was so perfect for getting to explore the faerie world, I really liked the colors used! I also loved the details on the expressions of Aisling and Forget-me-not, it really helped you see their feelings in a way that is sometimes more difficult with graphic novels. I also feel that all the side characters were very well thought out and designed.
I always loved the idea of a sapphic fairytale, and this was pulled off so well here it did not disappoint!

I loved every minute of this sapphic, romantasy graphic novel. The characters were likeable and caring, despite Not's grumpiness. The romance between characters felt natural and the development of their relationship over the course of the novel didn't ever feel forced. This is absolutely a YA graphic novel that I will be purchasing for my library's collection as well as recommending to young readers time and time again.

This is a very sweet, fun read with beautiful artwork. I honestly haven't read many graphic novels, but I will likely read more in the future because I enjoyed this one a great deal.. The story is simple, romantic, and lighthearted, and it was a great way to take a break from more serious reads. I love the style and colors of the artwork! I look forward to reading more works by this author.

Thank you to NetGalley and First Second Books for the arc copy of this lovely queer fantasy graphic novel. I enjoyed this read! It felt cozy and adventurous all at the same time. The art style was whimsical and pretty. It did feel a little bit insta-love for my taste, but that's very much a personal preference. I loved the inclusion of many different fae creatures within the fairy realm. I would absolutely love to see more things set within this fantasy world.
I will for sure pick this one up for my library when it publishes!

Thank you to NetGalley, Mari Costa, and First Second Books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!
This is such a cozy little treat of a graphic novel, and I enjoyed every second of it. The art style is absolutely beautiful, and I am such a sucker for fae stories. The narrative is quite condensed, but it still allows for the story & romance to progress really nicely. Overall, just a really cute and quick read.
