First Second, Mari Costa you’ve done it again! Another one knocked out of the park! More forget me Not and Aisling please? They have the best couples chemistry I’ve found in a fantasy/fae story in a while. Also, “ Don’t make me use the bridle again” out of context from chapter 15 will be living in my head rent free now 😆
Thank you to First Second for the e arc! It was much appreciated.

Mari Costa does it again! Forgive-Me-Not has everything you want from a Holly Black story (fae schemes, clever loopholes, and enemies-to-lovers romance), but make it sapphic. There really isn’t enough WLW fae romance out there! The character designs for all of the fae were fantastic, and the coloring really blew me away. I would love to read more adventures set in this world!

I am only just getting into the graphic novel scene, but I loved this one. Small suggestion for readers, make sure you read this on a larger screen to truly do the images justice. There is just so much detail to appreciate in each scene.
This story is one that leaves you wanting more, everything about the characters and their lives after the stories end.
I hope to read more from the talented author, Maria Costa.

I’ve been a Mari Costa fan for a long time, following her on Instagram for probably five years or more. This graphic novel feels like an exercise of her talents, passion, and love of sapphics.
This story is pretty simple, very familiar, and yet feels so fresh and new due to the world building and character designs. There’s such a cozy vibe about the fae world, but with a spooky side to it.
Personally, I’m always looking for butch women in a fantasy story. Forget-me-not is my new book crush for sure.
I did find some pages to be a bit repetitive such as when Aisling kept asking questions and Not would only answer a little bit. I love seeing characters be realistically panicked about their situation, but it felt very repetitive in this case. I also wish there could have been time exploring Not’s complicated relationship with the Fae world.

Mari Costa delivers an emotional fairytale-esque queer story with a lot of heart and a HEA that will leave you grinning from ear-to-ear.
First, the illustrations are BEAUTIFUL. I loved the use of color with its vibrant hues indicating safe places while darker tones are used for places that feel scary and unsafe. I also loved the story. It's one we are familiar with - stories of changelings. But I love how this one turns these stories on its head a little by having Ainsling be a kind protagonist who deeply cares for others, and is the opposite of who her parentage is (nurture vs nature). I also love the growth from Not as their perception of Ainsling shifts the more time the two spent together. The queer representation is also inclusive and just seamlessly captured with joy.
I will be IMMEDIATELY adding this to my library.

Aisling is a princess who doesn't know she's a fae changeling under a glamour until she's captured by the human whose place she took. Forget-Me-Not, the true princess, wants to break free of the faerie schemes she's been forced to operate under and sees stealing Aisling as the answer, but she doesn't expect to fall in love with the pretty hobgoblin.
I love books about faeries and sapphic romance, and this book was wonderful! I didn't expect it to be a graphic novel (I haven't read a lot of those), but I'm happy with it nonetheless. The art is beautiful and a little reminiscent of the descriptions of faeries in both older lore and Holly Black's modern books. The villain is appropriately spooky, and the art of the side characters is beautifully detailed. I wish it could have been longer, but I understand that a lot of work goes into making a graphic novel of this length at its current length.

Was this book cheesy? Yes. Was it kind of predictable? Yes…..BUT I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT. It was a super cute gay princess fairytale story- what is there not to love? The characters were easy to fall in love with and to root for. The art was BEAUTIFUL as well! I loved the sketchier drawings for the chapter title pages. One small thing that I think would make the book better would be to have longer chapters but that is mainly a formatting thing. I loved the story so much. I would highly recommend for other sapphic fairy tale lovers

I really enjoyed this little fairy tale. A queer changeling romance with a twist (or two), it's got gorgeous artwork and engaging characters.
The narrative starts strong with worldbuilding and character development as our heroes meet and begin their journey. I won't spoil the ending, but I will say that it was both unexpected and satisfying.
I was disappointed, however, with the barely-there middle of the story. What's there is good, but I wanted more of it. Even so, I loved it and now I've gor to go read Costa's other books.
My favorite part? The epilogue. An absolute delight. ❤️

I was very excited for a new Mari costa book, and enjoyed the art as always. Story-wise I wasn't as invested as with other books from this author, but it certainly stays true to a classic fairytale vibe (with a queer spin). This was a little darker in terms of sword slashing and an evil fae dad, but the heartwarming elements are plentiful. An enjoyable and cute ending with a lovely final illustration.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this ARC in exchange for my honest review!!
This book was so stinking cute! I loved the art so much. I didn’t even realize it was an artist I’ve read before until I was finished. I loved Aisling and Forget Me Not. They were so sweet. Even though Not seemed to want to enact revenge she had a soft spot for Aisling. The ending was soooo adorable like giggling and kicking my feet. I loved the lore of the changelings and the magic and fae. The world seemed so creative. I can’t wait to read more from this artist!!
