First, thank you to the publisher & NetGalley for the ALC!

The narrators did a fantastic job, and they were perfect for their roles.

I thought this was a cute little read. I think that it started off really good but kind of took a turn in the middle and lost me a bit. I think that Ebonys friends were a great support system for her, and I enjoyed reading about them.

I also think that the main characters were adorable!

Overall, this was a pretty good second-chance romance. I liked that the drama was not really between the MC's so no third-act breakup was refreshing. The dramatic plot with the ex-in-laws was interesting.

I just felt like the pacing was a bit off sometimes and we didn't really know much about the million side characters. The audiobook narrators were pretty good - but slow imho. Had to have this going 1.5x

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this read. It was witty and funny as I don’t know what. This is my first read by author Mia but it will not be the last. The narrators are amazing which makes the storyline even better.

First of all, this was so entertaining, for all the women who been devoured before, sure can relate about the ex cheating husband, and trying to get your life back together. It was refreshing and realistic on all levels. the best friends that not your friends and the in-laws making your life hell. I love her self journey of herself and how to find herself and maybe love if it fits in her journey. Love the audio, if you have a chance to get it, please do they did an amazing job.

This book is ideal for readers who enjoy witty, emotionally layered contemporary romances featuring resilient protagonists navigating scandal, reinvention, and undeniable chemistry with a complicated past love interest.

I picked this because I loved the cover and the plot sounded like something out of Crazy Rich Asians so I was hoping for those vibes. Unfortunately in those years my tolerance for the rich has become non existent and this affected my reading experience. The only thing that could have helped was for the book to question those riches and prompted reflections but it didn’t do it in any significant way.

I tried to finish this book but I couldn’t muster the energy. I didn’t enjoy the reality show vibes and the characters speak in internet speak and that ages the book. I wanted to see the confrontation between Ebony and Hillary and also between her and Cornelia but I didn’t care about her and Lincoln enough. Their relationship wasn’t very romantic to me and I hoped the romance would come but it didn’t.

I really like J.Y. Kora’s voice, I think I made it so far into the book thanks to her. Midnite Michael’s voice was very deep and, while not unpleasant, I couldn’t fully understand it when I sped up the audiobook.

I received an ALC from NetGalley and Dreamscape.

I couldn’t put The Divorcétante down! I read it in one sitting! Mia Heintzelman delivered a captivating story filled with well-developed characters and plenty of jaw-dropping moments. The plotlines were wrapped up neatly, and I appreciated the way the narrative kept me engaged from start to finish. The mix of humor, drama, and unexpected twists made this book a thrilling read. I really enjoyed how the characters evolved throughout the story, and I’d love to see more of them and their friends. If you’re looking for a fun, entertaining read with depth and excitement, The Divorcétante is a must-read. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more from this author!

The Divorcetante was an enjoyable read packed with drama, lies, deceit, betrayal and so much more. It was also messy, cute, sweet, funny and filled with love.

I loved going on this journey with Ebony, watching her grow and take back ownership of the pieces of herself that she lost and becoming who she was meant to be. I loved watching her pick up the pieces of her life, start over and chart a new course. I loved how bold, fierce and brave she became. I enjoyed the romance between her and Lincoln. I loved the way he saw her and how kind and caring he was and his defense of her.

The friendships was one of my fave things about this book both Ebony's and Lincoln's friendships. I loved how supportive they were and the fact that they didn't hesitate to call each other out about certain things.

As for the narrators I thoroughly enjoyed their performances. I loved listening to them. J.Y. Kora and Midnite Michael did these characters and story justice. They did a great job. Their performances were A+. I loved the cadence of their voices, they were pleasant and pleasing to my ears. I especially appreciated the deepness of Midnite Michael's voice it definitely matched how I "pictured" Linc's voice.

The Divorcetante was awesome and I look forward to reading more in this series and by this author. I also look forward to listening to more by these narrators.

I really enjoyed reading/listening (listened to the audiobook) about Miss Ebony Grace Livingston! This was such a cute and spicyyy love story with just the right amount of drama. I loved how her friends stood by her through everything. Real ride or dies, no matter what.

Ebony’s journey was funny, emotional, and full of black girl luxury moments that made the story feel like a binge-worthy series.

If you’re into rich drama, romance with bite, and a leading lady you’ll root for, The Divorcètante is definitely for you!

Thank you Mia & Netgally for the opportunity to listen!

This was a very dramatic book. It reminds me of the Perfect House Wife show a lot mixed with the drama of a good TV reality show. This was not at all what I was expecting but it worked.

Great read! Striking cover!

There was a great balance of wedding mayhem, ex drama, warm family dynamics, dating chronicles, wedding planning mishaps, deep seated-long rooted grudes, and flirty banter to make this a fun and airy, perfect for summer read.

I liked the romance between Ebony and Lincoln, but a major pet peeve is when someone waits years, pining for someone who is unavailable...

The ending was cute but irritated me. Why would the proposal be at someone else’s wedding? Surrounded by the ex’s toxic family?! Big no!

The male narrator’s voice was a deep baritone which is alluring for the character but I found myself slowing down his chapters to understand what he was saying.... the bass in his voice overtook the words LOL

First I’ve read by this author and it was an absolute pleasure and it won’t be the last! I quite enjoyed this audiobook it was like something I could envisage as a tv drama series of sorts in the way it was delivered it pulled me in with the narration and writing style that I could see the storyline play out easily. Both narrators done a fantastic job! I’m glad to see this is the first in a series from the author Mia Heintzlman as I’d definitely read the others.

It was a nice easy light hearted humorous easy listen and the adult content was done well as sometimes I find these areas can take over a storyline and become a bit much but it was within context in this book imo!

The main characters Ebony and Lincoln I anticipated from the synopsis would maybe have some sort of attitude or entitlement but they were both actually really down to earth likeable characters so without giving any spoilers away I’d say the synopsis gives a rough outline of the plot but it is much more than you’d expect it’s a nicer delivery and warm feel not quite as cut throat as may be suggested in the synopsis however both characters definitely can and do know how to hold their own; and of course what makes it a good story is that there are moments like that! Additional characters were also relatable and the story just flowed well overall!

With thanks to NetGalley & Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to this ELC in return for an open honest review 🙏🏽🎧📚❤️

The writing, A1, the voice actors… just perfect. I absolutely loved the will they won’t they dynamic. With a twist of we hate the ex mother in law. This slow burn friends to lovers is everything. This is the first book I’ve read by Mia Heintzelman and it won’t be the last.

These were the perfect voice actors for this book. Narrated by J.Y. Kora; Midnite Michael. The emotion and tension comes right perfectly in every chapter.

@Dreamscape_Media did an awesome job with this one

Thank you, Netgalley & Dreamscape Media, for the advance listener copy of The Divorcétante.

Ebony & Lincoln had a special kind of love. One with intention, declarations, and honest truths. What’s meant for you won’t pass you. That is the strongest theme in this book. Sometimes a setback feels like failure until you realize it prepared you for a comeback.

I used all of my emotions while listening to this book. The drama was wild; the sex was few and far between yet steamy, the plot twist was unexpected, and it is a reminder to ALWAYS bet on you!

What is life without our girls? They build us up when we are down, they celebrate us, and they keep it real. What more do you need than your man
and your besties.

This was my first read by Mia Heintzelman, but baby, I am a fan.

The Divorcetant by Mia Heintzelman

4✨This adorable romance is packed with drama, laughs, and second chances! Ebony’s fresh off a divorce from her ultra-rich ex, but he, and his mama, won’t go away. She’s trying to rebuild her wedding planning business when fate throws her into a wedding job... with the ex who got away, Lincoln.

Loved the narration, loved the spice, LOVED the chaos.

Thank you Netgalley & Dreamscape Media for the advance listener copy of The Divorcétante.

I truly enjoyed this book. Ebony was classy, yet wouldn't take any nonsense from anyone -- well except her mom, for a bit. I loved her character development & how even though she struggled with anxiety, she invested in herself. I loved seeing her evolve from the scandal and take things into her own hands.

Lincoln was already well developed. He knew what he wanted and although he kept telling himself he could move on, he was sooo in love with Ebony and he just couldn't and I LOVED that. This man was in love for a decade and it seemed nothing & no-one could compete with Ebony in his heart.

The narration was done beautiful. I loved the dual POV. You could truly feel the characters emotions come through the narrators.

I was so excited for this book and it somehow exceeded my expectations! I absolutely LOVED it!!!! I loved Ebony's determination to turn things around for herself, and she was so believable as a woman who was raised to be a certain type of high-society person but who was then fucked over specifically because of that. And Lincoln was an absolute dream. And aside from the characters, the plot was great, too—the restoration of the old building, the wedding planning for her ex's brother (who's marrying her friend), the Divorcétant Chronicles. It's the perfect mix of slightly absurd yet wholly grounded.
And on top of all that, both narrators did an absolutely phenomenal job. I truly am obsessed with The Divorcétant and can't wait to read more from Mia Heintzelman.

This was such a cute read! I love when a main character knows her worth, and Ebony Grace embodied confidence, self-awareness, and professional stability. After being publicly humiliated in front of thousands, she didn’t crumble like most expected her to do. Instead she turned that heartbreak into a whole new beginning.

Despite the emotional hits she took from her husband, toxic in-laws, and so-called friends, Ebony refused to let them see her sweat. She picked herself up each time and never lost sight of her value or her joy. Watching her rebuild and prioritize herself was so satisfying.

By the end, she didn’t just survive, she thrived, walking away with everything her heart truly desired.

The Divorcetante by Mia Heintzelman was easily a 5-star read. I normally don't read books with the cheating trope, but man, this book handled that topic so maturely. It also handled the topic of what someone loves, life, feelings, and life after your partner betrays you, and also how life could be after the divorce is final, and you're free again, and reinventing your life.
Between Ebony Grace Livingston, who was raised to be flawless. A debutante-turned-elite event planner, she built a life around breathtaking galas, whispered exclusives, and the kind of connections money can’t buy. After her divorce, Ebony decides she’s done curating perfection for everyone but herself.

The audiobook is dual narrated by J.Y. Kora and Midnight Michael. They both did a good job, but Midnight Michael is easily becoming a favorite of my male narrators. They were both easy to listen to and understand. Listened at 2x speed.

Thank you, Honey Blossom Press, for the ebook, and Dreamscape Media for the audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

The Divorcétante was a great rom-com book craving a rom-com second chance, with a little friend to lover’s trope story. Rediscovering yourself after a Divorce can be embarrassing, hard, depressing, and lonely. I love how Mia, allowed Ebony Grace to find herself again, She didn’t believe the lies and she did not allow her past circumstances to dictate her present or her future after a messy divorce.

Ebony Grace, was beautiful in all ways, and she learned how to love again after ending a bad marriage. She was the epitome of how a black woman can stand with grace after being Divorce. Lincoln and Ebony showed tension, but the chemistry between these two was unmatched. I also love how Mia didn’t introduce the steamy pieces until the end of the book, which allowed the characters to have a friendship/relationship first. These two really played the kissing game 

I admire how Ebony Grace also stood up to her mother who was trying to dictate her life by telling her to settle just because Julian was handsome, wealthy, despite he cheated on her and publicly humiliated her, not to mention impregnated someone. Her mother words “all you have to do is put on your crown and smile.”

That was the way of the past, women no longer must tolerate those things anymore, Shared Values, Tenderness, Loyalty, and being Intelligent are requested these days and if they’re lacking those things, women now have the right to say NO!
