I really enjoyed this book. I thought the narration was absolutely fit the characters.
This is perfect if you’re looking for a cute and heartfelt sports romance with some real emotional depth ♥️

Thank you NetGalley & Dreamscape Select for the audiobook in exchange for an honest review
Fun & spicy sports romance
Story line was a bit messy and got confusing at times but I can get over that because I actually liked the characters relationship.
Loved the ending
4 stars

This book did a great job of showing the same trauma from opposite backgrounds story. I loved the heartbreaking declaration of love that is reciprocated but unsaid. The story was just wonderfully engaging overall.
The narrators did such a good job bringing the emotion of the characters and situations to full reality. There was so much feeling in the telling of the story that you can’t help but be moved by their performances.

Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Select for the audiobook ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I have had the pleasure of reading other K. Bromberg books but have not listened to an audiobook by the author. This did not disappoint!!
Bromberg is a pro - well written, adorable, great story, great characters, the characters have depth and backstory. Absolutely delightful. Also a bit steamy. I was very invested in the characters and couldn’t wait to hear what happened next. Characters had a backstory, they were not fluff and it drew the listener in.
Audio was impressive. Narrators did an excellent job. Loved Hardy’s accent and Whitney was exactly as you would image she sounded. Extremely well done and professional.

I really enjoyed this story! They both have their own issues but came together. And the spice was incredible!

This is a bad boy/good girl, close proximity sports romance with tension, banter, and healing vibes. Alexander starts off as a total jerk, but his character arc is so satisfying—especially if you love a man who shows love through acts of service. They are forced into a work situation for mutual benefit. Both stay guarded (cue banter) but as the story unfolds their walls start to crumble. Whitney stays protective of her heart as her past won’t allow her to open up. She tries to deny her attraction and fights desperately to not let herself be vulnerable. The way he cared for Whitney when she was sick? Swoon. He was so protective and his love for her shone through. Whitney, guarded and fierce, slowly breaks down his walls without changing who she is—and in return, he sees her. Truly sees her. Their journey to be together is a challenging one that will have your heart in their hands.
Gary Furlong was perfect as Alexander Hardy—broody, arrogant, and oh-so-British. His voice had the cocky charm the MMC needed. Samantha Brentmoor is a favorite narrator of mine, she was spot-on as Whitney too. Her narration always hits emotionally, and she nailed the accent when needed!

I enjoyed listening to this story and the narrators did a wonderful job transitioning back and forth between American and British accents.
I’ve read and listened to several sports themed stories, but this is the first time the sport was soccer/fútbol. Hardy is a star on the pitch in England, but he is helping bring the fandom to an American MLS team. But his head is too big to realize that he isn’t expendable.
Whitney is scraping by but giving 200% to the soccer academy that she inherited. She has a history that makes her understand how the academy can impact the lives of the children that attend the academy.
There is a lot of back and forth angst, but the feelings (especially Hardy’s) were oozing from the narrators.

Lucky shot is a new soccer romance from author K Bromberg, but honestly this book was so much more than that, two lost souls really finding each other and being each other's family and I was here for it all.
The MMC, Alexander Hardy is a British soccer star that is in the states for one year. He is a known playboy and needs an image makeover. He makes a losing bet with Whitney that makes him stay around her soccer academy and help for 1 month.
Whitney, our FMC, is no stranger to being let down.
Whitney has grown up living in multiple foster homes and anyone she has ever loved has left her behind.
She is the owner of the soccer academy, that was her escape when she was growing up, trying to give the same outlet and refuge to the next generation.
Whitney and Hardy have chemistry galore but Hardy has to work hard because Whitney has so many walls around her to protect herself.
Watching Hardy change and fall so hard for Whit and he's willing not only to put in the work but do everything in his power to show her he's all in.... He just has to convince Whitney and break her walls down.
This is such a great book, both Hardy and Whitney had similar but different upbringing, dealing with their own trust and trauma. But watching it slowly unfold was great to see. There were definitely some parts that made me tear up.
The audiobook was preformed by Samantha Brentmoor and Gary Furlong. Both narrators did a phenomenal job. The accent for Hardy was spot on.
They did an excellent job bringing these characters to life for me. really brought this wonderful book to life! Sometimes the fake voices were not as spot on but that's a me thing as sometimes I struggle with that. Otherwise such a superbly done narration.
If you like these tropes and the reformed playboy tvoe. definitelv check this one out.

Who doesn't love a romance with 2 tortured souls? Can love heal them? A soccer star and a youth club owner are clashing from the get go. 5 stars
Many thanks to Net Galley and Dreamscape Select for an audio ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I was sucked into this latest sports romance from K. Bromberg from the very first chapter!! Whitney aka 'Lucky Shot' is a character it was impossible not to fall in love with and her journey from foster kid to rising soccer star to soccer academy owner is a bumpy but incredibly admirable one.
Enter Alexander Hardy, the cocky, arrogant British 'football' star in need of a reputation boost who barges into her life unexpectedly and unwanted and the two find themselves making a bet and having to work together coaching the kids for a month where slowly Hardy worms his way into Whitney's heart, grows to respect her life choices and fights to get a piece of her heart.
Full of spice, emotional depth and sooo much character growth, this is easily my new fav soccer romance and it was FANTASTIC on audio narration by Gary Furlong and Samantha Brentmoor! Highly recommended for fans of authors like Tessa Bailey and Chloe Liese. Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and Valentine PR for an early ALC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you so much to Dreamscape Select | JKB Publishing, LLC and NetGalley for this ALC of Lucky Shot.
This book was perfection! I was hooked from the start. We got to see the back stories of both main characters and it was done so beautifully. The romance was just *chef’s kiss* and the perfect amount.
I love that there was so much emphasis on the importance of clubs in low income areas to keep kids out of trouble. It was also great to see how, no matter the social status, every one has struggles. Highly recommend reading this one
I listened to the audiobook and both narrators were fantastic. I loved the duet narration and the accents of course!

Hes a sexy british footballer with mommy issues. Shes a sexy soccer club owner with trust issues. What could go wrong? Alexander Hardy gave big Jamie Tart from Ted Lasso energy. "I'm all that and a bag of chips why do I even have to try"
The banter was a lot of fun, the backstories were sad but they got to work together to heal their inner child. Hardy really worked to earn whitneys trust and break down her walls. It was very enduring. My issues were with Whitney. It felt like was wishy washy a lot of the time and they both really could've used some therapy.
Thank you to netgalley for the audiobook. It was excellent. It was dual narration and both narrators did a fantastic job!

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Select for this ALC.
This was a bad boy/good girl, forced proximity, sports romance. The narrators did a great job, Samantha Brentmoor is one of my favorites!
The story was a bit slow paced for me. The storyline didn't really start grabbing my interest until about 55%.
I did love the concept of the story but it just telt a little longer than I would have liked.

I love K. Bromberg, so I was super excited to check this book out. I also haven’t read a soccer sports romance in forever, so this was refreshing.
I loved Whitney and Hardy. They were both so damaged and overcame their terrible upbringings. Their chemistry was so good and the spice was the perfect amount.
The audio narration was fantastic as well.

The Lucky Shot by K. Bromberg was a quick read, sports romance. It featured one of my favorite narrators, Samantha Brentmoor, which is always a plus! At first glance of the cover, I actually thought this was going to be a hockey romance, but soccer is definitely the main sport here between the characters.
The story centers around Hardy, a famous soccer player caught in a scandal. To clean up his image and get some positive press, he volunteers for a kids' camp run by Whitney. Whitney is instantly annoyed with him, especially after he ditches on the very first day. Hardy does show some good character growth throughout the book, which was nice to see. However, once he falls for Whitney, he struggles to understand that his way of showing affection makes Whitney feel like she isn't earning the opportunities she's getting on her own merit, which creates some interesting tension.
There was only a small percentage of the book where they were genuinely annoyed with each other and in an enemies-to-lovers dynamic. The rest was more about them working their way into a new relationship, navigating little arguments, spiraling a bit, and learning about each other and themselves along the way. Honestly, I didn't fall completely in love with these characters. It was a good book, but just not the best for me personally. I'd give it 3 stars because while it was an enjoyable sports romance, nothing really unique about it made it stand out from others in the genre.
Thanks to NetGalley and Dreamscape Audio for the ALC in exchange for an honest review. Release date 6/25/25.

This is my first audiobook with the male narrator. He did amazing and can't wait to listen to more of his books.
I have to state the obvious. Hardy is a total prick that loses his temper a little to much at points. But Whitney gives it right back to him. She wasn't scared to go toe to toe with him when he doesn't show up for the kiddos at her school. Hardy wasn't used to that so of course that intrigued him.
Both of them are broken from their childhoods. It takes a while for them to overcome some of those issues. You could feel like change in Hardy but it took Whitney a whole hell of a lot of time.
There is a thin line between love and hate. This book is what they are talking about. I went from laughing to crying so I would for sure recommend the audiobook.
A micro trope that I will eat up every singe time is when he takes care of her when she is sick. Hardy for sure went above and beyond for her.
Thank you to K. Bromberg, NetGalley, and Dreamscape for the ALC.

These narrators are phenomenal! As always, Samantha Brentmore flawlessly swaps betweens voices and accents. I wasn't as familiar with Gary Fulrong going into this, but I did very much enjoy his performance and may look for other books narrated by him. The story is told in Dual POV, with each chapter being performed by one narrator.
This story is about two people who at first think their lives and childhoods couldn't be more different, but come to find they have way more in common than they thought.
I appreciated that while this is a sports romance, and one of the MCs is a professional athlete, the story revolved more around "ordinary" people's relationships to soccer/football. This allowed me to connect to the story on a more personal and emotional level.
Tears were shed a few times as I listened. Some for the MCs childhoods, some for the side characters, and some for the romance of course.
This is the second book I've read from this author, and I will definitely be reading more!
Thank you to Dreamscape Select and #NetGalley for giving me access to this ALC!

I listened to the audiobook. It was dual narration performed by Samantha Brentmoor and Gary Furlong. Samantha Brentmoor done amazing as always. Her ability to bring the characters and their emotions to life is amazing. Her range is the best, even when she’s doing male voices! Gary Furlong, also done amazing. Dreamy, British accent… no need to say more. Prepare to swoon and melt from his voice 🫠
I don’t tend to read or listen to alot of sports romance but , I do enjoy them. This one was good. It wasn’t the typical college based sports romance and I found that refreshing. There was a good plot. The characters were likable and had change and growth. There was chemistry, some spice and a depth to the relationship between Whitney and Hardy. We also got to know their history and the why to certain things about them. They were very different personalities but, they also had alot of similarities. Both of the characters had pasts that shaped them but, they found a way through their fears. A way to accept and embrace the love that they end up having for one another. This was a heartwarming, sometimes emotional, fun, steamy, sports romance with a happy ending. It will have you giggling and kicking your feet. I enjoyed it. If you enjoy sports(soccer)romance, good girl, bad boy, close proximity and grand gestures you’ll like this! I give it 4 stars and 2 1/2 - 3 🌶️
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to listen to this ALC!

This is a fun, entertaining, roller coast ride of a read. I loved these characters and what they go through to get to their HEA – especially Hardy. He’s such a sweetheart underneath it all and shows it in the best possible ways. I love how they push themselves and each other to be more than they currently are to allow love in. These characters and their story captured my attention from the start and held it until the very last word. That was such an amazing and satisfying ending for these characters – both as individuals and a couple. The story is easy to read and get into.
I enjoyed the audio version of this book and the narrators.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

What I’m Starry-Eyed Over:
🤩 I enjoy an English accent in my audiobooks. The narrators, Samantha Brentmoor & Gary Furlong, both do a great job including the other accent in their conversations.
🤩 Soccer romance, both in the business, let’s make a deal situation.
🤩 The title—love it and how it comes into play.
🤩 True enemies-to-lovers vibes and banter with unwanted attraction. So much tension.
🤩 Beautiful care-taking—Hardy is total book boyfriend material when he saves and cares for Whitney.
🤩 So real and raw, that give and take that is part of being in a relationship.
🤩 Oh, my heart, the childhood trauma is heart wrenching and so well written.
🤩 I adore Witney’s strength and resilience.
🤩 Who said rules aren’t hottttt? This has mutual self-pleasuring at its best!
🤩 So intimately and vulnerably hot!
🤩 All the feels. I bawled at the jersey moment.
What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About:
💫 I mostly believe in the HEA, but I do think they could both use some childhood trauma counseling/therapy.
💫 Hardy was a little mean for my liking when Whitney was struggling with her feelings and decisions.
💫 Did we know we were in Miami?
