The manga has the premise of a girl stuck as a side character of a novel she abruptly finds herself in. While well written, volume 1 failed to satisfy me with a simpler story than I’m used to in a book format and a cliffhanger that should be illegal (but a natural cutoff point for the story). I thought the formatting was still better accustomed to the original webtoon and would have liked if Vol 2 (releasing february) was packaged closer together so that there were more events in the story so the reader could better immerse themselves in that world.

This is a super fun first volume, and I'm excited to see where it goes next! This would be a really good addition to expand a manga/manwha collection if your teens love their webtoons.

This is a fun, light, tween-and-teen-appropriate manhwa. Korean webtoon content is really popular with our library teens, and I'm always looking for more titles in color. I've added this series to the order sheet for my library system.

I read this way back on Webtoon and I'm really happy to see it get a physical release. The first volume is basically setting the scene and introducing the characters (and their internet novel tropes) but it's easy to tell that we'll get more in depth in later volumes.

Classic introduction to the, "Sucked into a dating game trope and now I'm the villainess", sans being the villainess.
Instead, Dani (our MC) gets to be the (internet novel's) MC's best friend.
She questions everything, especially her sanity, understandably and rightfully so, if her not having the same life she had before she woke up in the internet novel is anything to go by.
The plot changes the year that it is in unexpectedly, which is a bit confusing, but I can say that I am definitely intrigued in where the story is going.

A cute, simple setup for what will hopefully be a series that just gets better and better as it goes on. We started off getting introduced to the characters with the author not really giving too much away all at once. I was really surprised by the time jump but thought it was really useful as the story was starting to drag just a bit. I did start to get confused, however, in the second half of the book. There was so much skipping around that it was hard (for me at least) to try and piece together a timeline of what was happening when. I have hopes, though, that as the story progresses this will happen less and less. It did keep my interest and attention enough to want to continue on in the series.

A must for any graphic novel collection! So cute and fun, like an isekai manga meets colorful manhwa. Each of the male (and female??) leads are swoonworthy and I'm already eager for the next volume to see who Dani chooses!

I'm instantly hooked! The art is absolutely fantastic—dynamic, expressive, and rich in detail. The storyline stands out with its unique premise and clever execution, blending humor, drama, and a touch of meta-fiction in a way that feels fresh and engaging. I'm genuinely excited to see where the characters go next. Volume 2 can’t come soon enough!

A really silly manga that doesn't take itself too seriously by breaking the fourth wall constantly, referencing the internet novels our main character has read before as a reference to what will happen in her life now that she's in one.

Thank you to Net Galley and the Publisher for providing this eARC!

This was a very charming Isegye/Isekai Manhwa, I enjoyed how Dani navigated discovering that she'd been pulled into a novel, and it felt very honest. I wish we could have spent more time getting to know the characters in this first installment, and although I really love that this story is being told alinearly, I do wish the time jumps were a little clearer.

All and all, though I really love Yeoryeong, and I already find myself struggling with who-- of the boys-- I like best, which is a really great sign in reverse harem style stories! I also like, without saying too much, seeing how this series might be turning some of the tropes on their head. I think it is a great little story and I'm excited to see how it grows and develops as the series progresses!

a version of the isekia story that I haven't seen before. A girl gets transported to a world that functions like a light novel. With her knowledge of light novels she tries to navigate the world so she can have a quiet life. This is easier said then done as in this new world she is the main characters best friend.

How did we get a time jump in the first chapter?! That feels unheard of. The premise of this is hilarious. Dani gets stuck in an internet novel she’s reading and while she’s trying to avoid the “main characters,” she becomes friends with all of them. I do wonder if her bestie has feelings for her and will join the harem (assuming the storyline goes that way)??
I’m very curious to see how things flow now that they’re in high school. Will Dani finally find out why she’s been transmigrated into the novel? I do hope if she gets sent home that she doesn’t have to redo high school twice. That would majorly suck.

My Life as an Internet Novel, Vol. 1 by A Hyeon; Illustrated by Yu Han-ryeo

This was such a fun and creative take on the classic “stuck in a novel” trope! The story follows a girl who finds herself as the best friend of the main character in an internet novel and it explores what that really means. She kind of breezes through the events, hesitant to form real connections because she’s afraid they might not be genuine.

I absolutely loved the concept and the way it plays with story structure and character roles. It's a great mix of humor, heart, and self-awareness.

Thank you to Random House Children's Books and Random House Graphic for the eARC!

I have discovered a new favorite graphic novel niche: stories about people getting transported into fanfiction/games/books! I really enjoyed this GN! I loooooved the art style! The characters were all so fun, as someone who watches anime and k-dramas I loved seeing the self awareness Dani had about clearly being in an 'internet novel'. I will say the story throws you right into the story and it took me a minute to get situated with everything that was happening however I think it was done on purpose to help the reader have the same what is happening confusing at the same time as Dani.

Very excited to see where this story goes in future volumes!! Very intrigued to see if any romance plots pop up and with who!!

This was so much fun!! I love seeing RH with more Korean manwha publications, and My Life as an Internet Novel did not disappoint. Dani did take a little bit to warm up to, but once I did, I found her antics and romps through the common tropes to be charming and hilarious. I couldn’t necessarily give 5 stars because I felt Dani was a little too much at times.

Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. The above is my honest opinion.

This follows a lot of the same tropes that many isekai-ed into a new life novels and webtoons do, but I still had a lot of fun with it. The characters are all likable, the art style is fun and colorful, and the story is interesting enough that I'd be interested in continuing the series. I will say the timeline pacing of it threw me for a bit of a loop, there's a huge time-skip and then flashbacks placed in the first novel without a lot of full explanation, and I found that to be a bit confusing.

What would you do if you found yourself in a web novel? Poor Dani has to figure this out when she mysteriously ends up in a romantic web novel as the protagonist's best friend.

A rather nice story for those who like the isekai genre, but not a fan of fantasy or gamelit. It touches tropes and themes of both the isekai genre and the high school romance genre, especially the ones coming out of Korea. There are funny bits, mostly in the misunderstandings between the genre savvy Dani and the stereotypical characters around her. I'm hoping that further chapters delve into how the other characters are not what they seem, that they contain deeper personalities as they seem a bit flat at the moment, but we have only been introduced to them. It's looking to be a character driven narrative, which tend to do well over a longer run in my opinion. This first volume mostly just introduces the characters and makes them just intriguing enough to make the reader want to know more about them.

Now to the negatives. The art is rather flat. It doesn't stand out to me and seems a bit washed out. I'm also not a fan of flashbacks. The pacing seems a bit odd due to those flashbacks.

I think it has potential, but I will want to see more in the next volume before I can recommend it to the purchasing manager at my library.

In all honesty, I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. This is a fun subversion of light novel and webcomic tropes that anyone familiar with the medium will find fun. I had not heard of this webcomic before and went in totally blind.

Fast-paced, light, likeable main character, and the side characters have place to grow. What holds it back for being 5 stars for me is that the art can look a little flat, and the story loses a little momentum here and there with going back and forth in Dani's timeline.

I plan on keeping up with it as it comes to print.

This book collects chapters 1-16 of the webcomic.

Content warning: Minor violence, and nothing else really

This is a great start for a new graphic novel series. Charming, funny, intriguing. Fans of graphic novel series set in academia will love it.
