My Life as an Internet Novel, Vol. 1 by A Hyeon; Illustrated by Yu Han-ryeo
This was such a fun and creative take on the classic “stuck in a novel” trope! The story follows a girl who finds herself as the best friend of the main character in an internet novel and it explores what that really means. She kind of breezes through the events, hesitant to form real connections because she’s afraid they might not be genuine.
I absolutely loved the concept and the way it plays with story structure and character roles. It's a great mix of humor, heart, and self-awareness.
Thank you to Random House Children's Books and Random House Graphic for the eARC!

I have discovered a new favorite graphic novel niche: stories about people getting transported into fanfiction/games/books! I really enjoyed this GN! I loooooved the art style! The characters were all so fun, as someone who watches anime and k-dramas I loved seeing the self awareness Dani had about clearly being in an 'internet novel'. I will say the story throws you right into the story and it took me a minute to get situated with everything that was happening however I think it was done on purpose to help the reader have the same what is happening confusing at the same time as Dani.
Very excited to see where this story goes in future volumes!! Very intrigued to see if any romance plots pop up and with who!!

This was so much fun!! I love seeing RH with more Korean manwha publications, and My Life as an Internet Novel did not disappoint. Dani did take a little bit to warm up to, but once I did, I found her antics and romps through the common tropes to be charming and hilarious. I couldn’t necessarily give 5 stars because I felt Dani was a little too much at times.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. The above is my honest opinion.

This follows a lot of the same tropes that many isekai-ed into a new life novels and webtoons do, but I still had a lot of fun with it. The characters are all likable, the art style is fun and colorful, and the story is interesting enough that I'd be interested in continuing the series. I will say the timeline pacing of it threw me for a bit of a loop, there's a huge time-skip and then flashbacks placed in the first novel without a lot of full explanation, and I found that to be a bit confusing.

What would you do if you found yourself in a web novel? Poor Dani has to figure this out when she mysteriously ends up in a romantic web novel as the protagonist's best friend.
A rather nice story for those who like the isekai genre, but not a fan of fantasy or gamelit. It touches tropes and themes of both the isekai genre and the high school romance genre, especially the ones coming out of Korea. There are funny bits, mostly in the misunderstandings between the genre savvy Dani and the stereotypical characters around her. I'm hoping that further chapters delve into how the other characters are not what they seem, that they contain deeper personalities as they seem a bit flat at the moment, but we have only been introduced to them. It's looking to be a character driven narrative, which tend to do well over a longer run in my opinion. This first volume mostly just introduces the characters and makes them just intriguing enough to make the reader want to know more about them.
Now to the negatives. The art is rather flat. It doesn't stand out to me and seems a bit washed out. I'm also not a fan of flashbacks. The pacing seems a bit odd due to those flashbacks.
I think it has potential, but I will want to see more in the next volume before I can recommend it to the purchasing manager at my library.

In all honesty, I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. This is a fun subversion of light novel and webcomic tropes that anyone familiar with the medium will find fun. I had not heard of this webcomic before and went in totally blind.
Fast-paced, light, likeable main character, and the side characters have place to grow. What holds it back for being 5 stars for me is that the art can look a little flat, and the story loses a little momentum here and there with going back and forth in Dani's timeline.
I plan on keeping up with it as it comes to print.
This book collects chapters 1-16 of the webcomic.
Content warning: Minor violence, and nothing else really

This is a great start for a new graphic novel series. Charming, funny, intriguing. Fans of graphic novel series set in academia will love it.

I loved this, what a funny concept and overall story. The art work was gorgeous and the story was unexpected. I can't wait to read more.

An interesting take on a familiar theme. The characters were interesting and the art is well done. The time jump was a bit unexpected and abrupt but it helped moved the plot along.
