This is a great book for kids that jumps on a consistent theme for many different things that the main character can try to catch. In the end, it is also very sweet and prompted a few questions from my kiddo that helped me explain empathy and kindness. It is a perfect Halloween book to add to your seasonal arsenal!

Stop That Witch! was so much fun that I had to read it twice. A simple rhyming story with tons of exclamations and outlandish antics, complemented by the colorful and cartoonish illustrations by Migy Blanco, will have young readers flipping through the pages and begging you to read it again as soon as it’s done. When it’s time for a hilarious Halloween tale, grab Stop That Witch!

A cute book with a little chase. Not too witchy. The illustrations are adorable. My toddler said, "That book is so funny!"

This board book has cute illustrations and a simple story. A dog detective is chasing an unknown thief on Halloween night. There isn't much of a mystery plot here, since the witch is clearly illustrated for readers to identify, but the chase scenes will engage young children, and the ending is cute.

This book was a huge hit with my four year old, and he’s requested to read it every day since. It is a similar style of How to Catch books, but with a more eloquent and catchy execution. We really enjoyed the silly sleuth dog and his squirrel friend’s dynamic in the illustrations, as well as following the witch’s path. Can’t wait for Halloween because this will definitely be a book we purchase.

How cute was this book! I love a rhyming book and I think my students would love to hear this book be read aloud. I thought the drawings were delightful and I liked how the witch gave the candy back! It made for a fun read that would be perfect for Halloween and teaching rhymes.

This is the perfect Halloween book for toddlers! The story follows Detective Cluehound on a festive Halloween adventure. After a night of trick-or-treating, his candy bucket is snatched by a mischievous witch! Detective Cluehound sets off to track her down, journeying through a variety of fun, seasonal locations—including a forest, a circus tent, a maze, and a graveyard. In the end, the witch playfully returns his candy in a brand-new bucket, along with a note promising more fun next year.

I loved the colorful illustrations, the playful (and non-scary) Halloween theme, and the charming rhyming text. The length was just right for a toddler or preschooler’s attention span. This book would be a wonderful addition to a classroom library, a child’s seasonal collection, or any family looking for a sweet and spooky (but not scary) Halloween bedtime read.

This is a really fun book that is perfect for spooky season! The main thing that I liked about this book was its simplicity because it allows this book to be accessible to more readers, in my opinion. Additionally, the fun rhymes were awesome, and made the book flow nicely and smoothly, kind of like a song. However, a smart choice by the author was made by not following such a rigid rhyming pattern, as some of the pages didn't have rhymes. I give a lot of credit to the author for letting this book be more "free" rather than structured. I also want to applaud the illustrator for capturing the true essence of fun that this book possesses, and it really helped the book come full-circle with vivid color and detail. Lastly, the ending was very cute, unexpected, and such a happy surprise. Bravo!

A sweet, rhyming romp for our Detective Clubhound as he chases after a klepto-witch! Definitely geared towards the younger kids (even of the single digit ages!) but still a delightful caper!
