Rachel Leblang. I wasn’t turned on or off to her voice. What I could not figure out was, why say the chapter and number like it was a question! Drove me nuts!

The story seemed a bit forced and sounded so much like many other books out there. It fell a bit flat for me.

Didn’t excited me as much the beginning was great then at the middle it dragged so I have it 3 stars all together that’s the best I can give it

The touch her and die troupe is one of my all time favorites. Damian has that in spades. Ava is his sweet innocent opposite. Dark Acadamia is so fun. I loved the story. This was a wild, addictive read that completely pulled me in. Ava and Damian’s dark, twisted dynamic had me hooked from the start. She’s innocent but strong, and he’s dangerously possessive in a way that’s both terrifying and magnetic. The secret society backdrop added layers of suspense and intrigue, with jaw-dropping twists I didn’t see coming. The audiobook made it even better. Corvin King nailed Damian’s intense energy, while Rachel Leblang perfectly captured Ava’s voice and growth. Their duet narration flowed seamlessly, making the story feel even more immersive. If you love dark college romance with power plays, obsession, and a little mystery, this book is a must.

Prince of Power by Skyler Mason is an action-packed, twist-filled rollercoaster that completely pulled me in. It’s set in an academic world with a bully romance front and center. The story unfolds in a college setting complete with an elite, cult-like fraternity hiding dangerous secrets.

The plot was gripping from the very beginning, and I found myself unable to put it down. Every chapter brought new layers of intrigue, tension, and just the right amount of mystery and steam. The pacing was excellent, and as the story progresses it has me more engaged and invested in the storyline.

I absolutely loved the FMC! She was strong, clever, and resilient. And the MMC? He is arrogant and has a complexity and multiple layers. As the story unfolds it was fun watching the female pull back these layers and crack the code that is Damian Cross. Watching their dynamic shift and evolve was one of the highlights of the book.

If you're a fan of enemies-to-lovers, morally grey characters, and dark secrets, this one will absolutely be your next obsession.

This addictive and engaging story follows the cunning Damien Cross, the new leader of a secret college society, on his quest for ultimate power. Despite their undeniable attraction, she has her own agenda!

𝐎𝐦𝐠, I had the best time listening to this story. The main characters are truly fascinating, and the slow-burning romance kept me hooked throughout. There was also a clever plot twist near the end that tied everything together perfectly.

The cherry on top was the superb duet narration by 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠 and 𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠, who brought the characters to vivid life. Corvin's smooth voice is sublime, he can make anyone melt like butter!

The narrators did a good job with presenting the personalities of the characters. Damian and Ava are opposites. She is a preacher’s daughter full of light. He is all things dark and ruthless.

The world that Damian grew up in produced a ruthless, cold man. Ava melts some of the ice. Damian tried to do things to make her happy. However,he will burn down the world and everyone in it for her.
Ava was sweet. She fought for her friends and family, she was willing to sacrifice herself to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

The supporting characters added suspense and drama to the story. The angst and suspense led us to very dramatic ending where secrets were revealed and new plans formed. Book two should be very interesting.

This was one of those reads that pulled me in slowly but had me hooked by the end. It’s dark, trope-heavy, and full of tension—definitely for fans of obsessive love stories with a secret society twist.

I didn’t like Damian at first. He comes off as this powerful, intimidating guy, but underneath it all, he’s just a messed-up boy desperate for love. Ava was your typical innocent, church girl type. She’s supposed to be smart, but some of her decisions had me side-eyeing her hard. That said, I liked that she stuck to her morals and didn’t fold completely just because Damian was intense.

The book leans into all the usual tropes like good girl vs. bad boy, secret societies, hidden pasts. And while I didn’t see the big twist coming, I can definitely see how people could’ve guessed it early (I never try to guess!). Some of the dialogue was cheesy, and Damian had me laughing at times, and not because he meant to, but I weirdly enjoyed that.

That said, I loved all the obsessive little things Damian did for his “precious girl.” His devotion and intensity was consuming. He’s controlling, intelligent, and magnetic. I especially liked some of their deeper conversations as it added more to his character.

Yeah, it’s packed with clichés, but I didn’t mind. I liked the story overall and I’ll definitely keep going with the series.

I listened to the audiobook through NetGalley and thought the narration was spot on. Corvin King was perfect as Damian, and Rachel Leblang gave Ava just the right amount of sweetness and innocence.

The Prince of Power has one of the few storylines that could make a dark college romance work for me, and it delivered. A super exclusive secret society that works thru it's fraternities to train its future members!!


The chemistry between Ava and Damian was palpable and even in the most unhinged moments of the book it worked out perfectly


I wish that there wouldn't have been any hints to the plot twist so it would have been more of a surprise to us as it was to the MCs, also a little less emphasis on her virginity would have been better for me, but I know this is a recurrent them in the author's stories and I'm making my peace with it.


The work on narration done by Rachel Leblang and Corvin King was amazing the way the brought their characters to life made me feel like I was in the room where everything was happening, I believe that if I had just read this book I would like as much as a i did while listening to it.

Thank you for the copy. This audiobook was addicting and interesting at the start. It reminds me of The Ritual, but I found some of the cult things and dialogue a little cringe.

Just as the characters were growing on me, Damien went and did the whole thing of wanting to get her pregnant. And I was out. Even if he didn’t go through with it. Wanting to impregnate a woman without her permission is a no no. I think this should be in trigger warning.

The writing was okay. I do think the world and surroundings could have been better described.

But I do have some fun with it. The female narrator was fantastic. The male one was okay.

Starting this book I really enjoyed it but after around the 60% point it got quite boring and a lot of the elements within the book were not interesting. The FMC was very weak and at some points annoying with some of the actions she did.

The MMC though, was obsessed with her.

However, the whole plot and ideas and ““virgin sacrifice” was so strange to me and as an absolute lover for dark romance this weirded me out very frequently.

I enjoyed the narration, I loved the fact that it is dual narration, it made me enjoy the book more and understand the depth.

2.5⭐️ Thank you, NetGalley for an ALC of The Prince Of Power. As far as the production goes it was done really well. I loved the duet narration and both Corbin King and Rachel Leblang did an amazing job at narrating Damian and Ava.

The cover and title caught my eye immediately and the summary peaked my interest. I loved the storyline of a secret society/college cult with a good girl vs bad boy falling in love. Unfortunately I struggled to get into this story. It was pretty predictable so if you’re looking for a thrilling read I’d probably skip this one.

Ava, the FMC was not likable at all so she also kinda ruined the experience for me. I also wasn’t buying into the romance between Damian and Ava. There were parts that had me laughing out loud but I don’t think the author was actually trying to be funny. It was entertaining enough though. I probably won’t carry on with the series because something that really just rubbed me the wrong way was the constant attacks directed at Christianity. I went in knowing it was a cult story with dark rituals but I felt like the constant mockery of God and Christianity was just unnecessary. It wasn’t for me.

If you're an audiobook dark romance lover, you already know the power of Corvin King. That gravelly, sexy voice? Mmmmmm. I’d listen to him read a cereal box, honestly. But throw in a duet narration with Rachel Leblang and a dark academia plot? YES PLEASE. Their chemistry in audio was everything—it truly elevated the experience.

Now, I don’t know if the growls were in the original writing or just part of Corvin’s performance... but either way? Whew. Let's just say my panties may or may not have spontaneously combusted.

This is dark academia, but with a refreshing twist—different from the usual trope-heavy stuff. It could serve as a great intro to dark romance, especially for someone newer to the genre.

We get the classic dynamic: rich, secret-society alpha male vs. smart, scholarship girl—but Ava isn’t your typical “naive and overwhelmed” FMC. She’s smart, observant, and knows what she’s walking into. She draws lines, holds her own, and their intellectual conversations (yes! actual debates) kept things interesting and elevated the tension. The writing had me on edge in the best way, because I never fully knew where it was heading—and that unpredictability made it hard to pause.

The spice? Delicious. Well-written, smutty, and perfectly intense for the tone of the book.

That said, the virginity scene gave me pause. Ava had set up clear intentions about saving herself for marriage, and the pivot to giving it up didn’t feel emotionally conflicted enough. I got her choice, but I just wanted a bit more inner struggle there—it felt a little too easy for someone with such firm beliefs.

This feels like a standalone—there’s resolution and no harsh cliffhanger—but there are definitely things left unanswered in the world leaving you asking for more, and we already know future books will follow different characters from this world. And yes, I’ll be picking them up! I want more of this secret society and all its delicious drama.

Prince of Power is a twisted, addictive ride set in a world of secret societies, elite privilege, and dark, dangerous obsession. And yes, Damian Cross is exactly the kind of morally gray man I lose sleep over.

This book gives possessive MMC, reluctant good girl energy, and a secret society so shady, it’s definitely a cult. Damian is feared for good reason. He’s ruthless, commanding, and radiates “you belong to me” from the very first chapter. But the way he softens (just barely) for the FMC? Cue my spiral.

Our FMC is everything I want in a dark romance lead. Ava is good-hearted but not naive, determined but not reckless. The dynamic between her and Damian is filled with tension, slow-burn seduction, and high-stakes danger. You feel his obsession in every word and honestly, I lived for it.

The pacing was good, the plot kept me locked in, and the emotional undercurrent added just enough depth without taking away from the dark, spicy tone. There were a few moments I craved more internal conflict or longer emotional unraveling, but even with that, this book hit exactly the niche it aimed for… and hit it hard.

Welcome to Ashfield University where the secret society The Four Hundred pull all the strings and the exclusive Thornecroft fraternity is not what it seems. Oh boy did this book lull me into a false sense of security before pulling the rug out from underneath me. I love secret society books and this one brought the mystery and intrigue trying to figure out what would happen, who was working with or against Damian and Ava and what would happen next.

The way Damian and the others in Thornecroft that are of The Four Hundred lineage manipulate each situation they decide to adds to the mystery of it all. One of Damian’s was deciding he wanted Ava as his virgin sacrifice. The things he did to make sure she knew she belonged to him and was to abide by his rules really highlighted the lengths he would go to do what he wanted.

There were some bread crumbs left throughout the book that hint at what will happen later in the book but I never saw it coming how everything would unfold. Ava is the sweet innocent soul forced to live in a castle full of people with unknown motives hiding behind a mask of friendliness. This book will keep you on your toes

I enjoyed Corvin King and Rachel Leblang a lot in this duet narration audiobook. It was so easy to get swept up in this audiobook with their narration. Duet narration is sometimes jarring to me when it switches between narrators but their voices together flowed so well back and forth.

Corvin King is why I wanted to listen and he did not disappoint. His gravely voice combined with the cadence and pacing of his voice fully embodied Damian’s confidence. His range really showed as he was able to make you feel the emotion each character was going through and do the modulated voice while seamlessly transitioning through all of them. I have never listened to Rachel Lablang but she got put on my list of narrators to listen to more of. She was able to really embody Ava’s sweet, innocent and sometimes naive personality with the tone of her voice and pacing in which she speaks.

The way I disliked this man so much until about 3/4 of the way through haha! But he was totally worth the way he broke down for her. The way he would take everyone and everything down that got in the way of getting to her. The addiction he has for her is over the top but totally him! I love how he gets him to take his walls down and become more human and have feelings and show them. Definitely worth it!
