Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

I’m a paranormal romance fan and a lot of times instalove comes with the territory, but I usually like some questioning of the feelings especially in shifter romance. I just couldn’t settle in with these characters or the story.

I was first hooked on this book because of the cover and blurb. I ended up thoroughly enjoying it! Wolves, witches, paranormal, and portals! The writing style and the story were absolutely fabulous! There was nothing I didn't like about this book. I'm really looking forward to the next book and definitely recommend this one!

When I read what the book was about, I really wanted to read it because it had many elements that I enjoy reading. But the insta-love and the characters themselves were my biggest problem.
I don't mind the insta-love and it's bad when it would be "justified" as one might expect here, but I feel like it was TOO fast and that there was no kind of connection, and that they only exchanged about... 6 sentences between them and that was it.
The characters seemed a bit flat to me and that they changed as the story required it. I didn't see any growth or a reflection process. Everything happened very quickly in the first few pages and it was hardly believable.

I feel like it had a lot of potential, that I couldn't connect, that I would have loved to like it, but I didn't.

Thank you so much, City Owl Press, for the ARC I read on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Under Your Skin by Kat Turner kicks off the Jungle Shifters series with a steamy premise and plenty of action, introducing readers to Taylor and Julian.
Danger, chemistry, and an undeniable pull, Taylor and Julian's relationship has all the elements of a sweeping paranormal romance. I agree with other reviews that the "love at first sight" felt rushed and awkward, which left little room for the development of emotional depth.
With its high stakes plot and shifter intrigue, the story moves forward rapidly. However, the pacing can be inconsistent, lurching between intense scenes and slower moments that don’t always tie cleanly together, which can be a bit disorienting.
That said, Turner's worldbuilding hints at promising lore to come, and the dynamic between the leads has potential for a great series.

The supernatural romance aspect of this was fun and flirty. I was invested into the lustful romance between Taylor and Julian but it was very insta love. I enjoyed the betrayal/manipulation vibes with Taylor's father because it was so toxic and also masked really well behind parental love and guidance.

I really loved the cover of this book so I was drawn to it. However, this book was a struggle. I felt that the story was a bit forced and the connection between the couple was at times unrealistic. The first spicy scene was hard to grasp because it seemed so rushed. I did like the dystopian feel to this book and hope that is explored more in the future books of the series. I did like Taylor and feel that she definitely grew as a character in the story. I also love found family and that is what this definitely feels like with their community. Julian has a good heart and wants to belong.

Taylor's father definitely gave off villain vibes but also at times just seemed to be a dad who made bad decisions. I feel that there needed to be a more developed timeline and a little less rushing through. Overall, it is a good start to a series.

Thanks to NetGalley and City Owl Press for the copy!

Hard to get into, I had trouble following along at first but once I got into the book it became more interesting. A young woman who grew up rich and entitled, finds out things aren’t always as the appear!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review

I received this book from NetGalley. I ended up DNFing this. I thought about skipping ahead to figure out what was happening but just got more confused. I wanted to love this and the story but things either happened too fast, character conversations were all over the place, and it just was missing a develop piece. Going to try to read some of the other books written by this author and maybe try again later.

This book grabbed me from the very first few pages. I really like the writing style and the storyline is fantastic from the get go. I'll definitely be back to update this review once over 100% completed it, but as of right now I am loving it!
