OK, first off, I think this takes place in an established world (or at least feels that way). I was able to “catch up” either way, and enjoy this short book that seems to be A-OK with time travel being a real thing.

Annabelle is a book lover, a powerful witch, and still nursing a broken heart caused 3 years ago in Paris. Gabriel, a shifter security head for his pack, is the one that broke her heart when he disappeared without a trace. These two end up finding one another when Annabelle’s coven tips their hand about heading back in time. I guess Gabriel’s pack is somehow well versed in time travel, as seems to have been hinted at in some of the backstory of the key members we meet. Either way, this time travel thing could screw up Gabriel’s chance at love again when it appears possible that Annabelle could set off the events of his own birth!

Don’t worry, though, because things move quickly and we don’t need to sit with the heartache, the misunderstandings, or the celibacy for long! There are a few twists and turns, a potential big bad that may come back for future installments, and our own time travel “fun.” Lucky for us, things end up very HEA but there are definite breadcrumbs for future books. I’d recommend this for a spicy quick read!

This is a great read about a shifter and his witch mate who explore time travel. The problem is he doesn’t know she’s a witch and she doesn’t know he’s a shifter. To make it better they are fated mates and of course there’s a wicked witch thrown in!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you for allowing me to review

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity ti read the ARC. The Wolf and His Witch was amazing! This is a first time reading this Author and will not be the last. This story is about an Annabelle and Gabriel. Gabriel turned his back on his mate 3 years prior because his family needed him and left her in Paris to go to them. They meet up 3 yrs to the day. Gabriel is looking for a witch named Bella Rodriguez. Turns out she is his fated mate from 3 yrs ago he feels he has been given another chance. Read to find out the ending but it’s so worth it. 5 out of 5 stars.

K.E. Turner’s *The Descendants* is an irresistible blend of second-chance romance and supernatural intrigue. Annabelle and Gabriel’s chemistry leaps off the page, their emotional journey both heartfelt and compelling. The world-building is rich, seamlessly weaving together witch and werewolf lore with high-stakes drama and vivid settings.

Turner delivers a story full of passion, forgiveness, and suspense, making this a must-read for fans of paranormal romance.

Ive not read a book by this author before and I felt like there was probably other books in this series I would have read before but I still enjoyed this as a stand alone.

It's an easy read with a fast paced plot with some spice and insta lust.

I'm intrigued to read the next book!

Blood witch meets werewolf mate ♥️

I have a bit of a soft spot for witches and shifters so I was excited to try this book. I have to say I was not disappointed. After the first chapter I was well and truly hooked. I liked the main characters and felt they weren’t too stereotypical for the genre. The story was paced well and there was a nice balance for me between the romance and the rest of the plot which had a nice mix of action and intrigue too. I will definitely be following this series and seeing what happens next.

The book has a good storyline and sets the tone for what I assume is a complete world with more stories to come. Characters are well developed though as a reader I'd like to know more about them.
All in all is a good read and very enjoyable

I initially found this book difficult to get into but when I did I devoured it in an evening. I love the mmc and the FMC, and I am a sucker for a fated love. I was so sad when it ended and I can’t wait to find out what happens next….. when will we get book 2?
Overall a solid 3* read

I really wanted to love this book, I mean rejected mate, witch and wolf shifters what more could I want! I enjoyed the story, but it just did not live up to my expectations, Firstly because I didn't like Gabriel as a MMC, I also felt that the yearning aspect of a second chance romance were kind of missing. and thirdly this is more personal but as someone who is fluent in French I found it slightly jarring that there was no check for the French conjugation, female/male distinctions and more generally grammar (if you don't speak French this won't be an issue for you).

Rating 2.5 ⭐️ rounded up

Summary: Three years after heartbreak, Annabelle must team up with ex-lover Gabriel—her fated mate—to save both witches and wolves from ruin.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC of this book, all thoughts are my own.

This was an amazing story packed full of interesting characters. I loved the characters so much I wish this was a longer story that went into more detail. Some of the problems are solved while others are left unsolved for the next story. It was an interesting take on shifters and witches and I loved it!

The One That Got Away!

A fun steamy read with an engaging and at times witty storyline.

Gabriel let her go once and this time Annabelle would be his to claim if he could get passed her prickly ways and seek her forgiveness.

In the meantime they had to work together as fate had plans for this Witch and possessive Wolf Shifter. With wonderful characters, heart-felt moments and some twists, you’ll not want to put this book down!

Can’t wait for the next in this series!

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

There were a lot of moving parts to this story, including time travel, that made it feel a bit hectic at times, but overall a good fated mates romance. I predicted most of the twists/suspenseful moments, but it didn’t necessarily take away from the plot. I didn’t really like the time travel element or all the French- but that has nothing to do with the author or book and everything to do with my own personal preference. Overall, a 3.5-4 star read for me.

A quick, fun, steamy read! I wish this book were longer; the relationships and story could have been fleshed out a bit more, but I still enjoyed it immensely. While this book can be read as a standalone, I think you'll enjoy it more if you've read the previous books in the series. 3.75 stars!

The relationship between the FMC and the MMC was believable, though I wish there had been a bit more backstory about their relationship prior to the events of the book. I thought we were heading for a classic misunderstanding trope but that was cleared up pretty swiftly, thankfully. For the most part, I enjoyed this book and will likely read the rest of the series.

Thanks to K.E. Turner, Entwined Publishing, and Netgalley for providing me with an ARC.

I love paranormal romances with witches, shifters, and fated mates, so this had a lot of appeal. It took me a little while to get into, but the mix of second-chance romance, magical politics, and time travel won me over by the end.

Gabrielle and Annabelle have great chemistry, and I liked the tension from their unresolved past. The time-travel twist added a unique touch, and the festive setting gave it a nice seasonal vibe.

I’m intrigued enough to continue the series and will likely check out what comes next

The title of this book is somewhat a giveaway! Gabriel abandoned Annabelle is Paris, a wolf leaving his witch behind, this book starts when they meet again three years later. There is still tension, and simmering lust between the surface, alongside the deep distrust and secret keeping. This sexy passion is woven into the hunt for an ancient witch killer from a thousand years ago, all using a spell to move through time. The world is slightly madcap and yet the writing is powerfully and sucked me into the plot and cheering on the characters and wishing them well.

I usually love this style of book, a series of interconnected standalones but I struggled to get into this first book.

This story is focused on Gabrielle a wolf shifter and Annabelle the witch, this was a second chance romance which stems from when they met in Paris three years ago but them Gabrielle left her suddenly at Christmas time.

Destiny brings them together but I don’t quite understand why it would drive them apart first especially with Annabelle being Gabrielle’s fated mate.

The time travellwas intriguing to me as I haven’t read that dynamic for a while and the overall story concept was good. It felt flat to me and I struggled to get into the story.

I am on the fence as to if I will continue with this series.

This book is part of a series, and I think each book follows a specific couple (or throuple?). I'm not sure if they're fully standalone; It's hard for me to say because this is the first book in this series that I've read. There were things that I didn't completely follow, and I'm not sure if it's because part of the story existed in a previous book. If so, then fans of the series will probably be really happy. As a person new to this series, I'm not quite sure how I feel.

So supposedly, Gabriel and Annabelle had met in Paris, three years prior and had quite the love affair for a few months before Gabriel disappeared. We don't see any of that happening, however. Instead we start with them after three years apart when something happens that brings them back into each other's orbit. Since we don't get to see them when things were really hot, and I struggled to find chemistry between them.

The other element in this book is time travel, though, we don't see a lot of it in this book. I'm not the biggest fan of time travel because it doesn't really make sense. How do people in the present know that other people in the present have to go back in the past to make the present the present. If those people do go back to the past, that's going to change the present, and the people in the current present wouldn't know about it. <<< See? Not logical.

Ugh, I can't really describe it very well, and I think that inability exemplifies how confused I was by the plot. On a surface level, however, I was able to read it. The author writes well; i just didn't fully gibe with the story. Other characters are introduced that will probably be the heroes in subsequent novels, but I don't find myself particularly interested in reading their stories.

Oh, also, wolves and witches.

I know for some reviewers, three stars is considered a reasonably high rating. For me, I give three stars to well-written that just don't wow me.

I received an ARC of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks.

Gabriel, a werewolf, left Annabelle, a witch, without a word - on Christmas, on the streets of Paris, three years ago. Now, fate brings them back together on a business meeting between her coven and his pack. Neither has been entirely honest about their past … or themselves. But the witches discovered a powerful time-traveling spell and need to cooperate with the werewolves to change the course of history and save the lives of thousands of witches across medieval Europe.

The concept of shifters, witch magic and time travel has great potential, and I enjoyed the historical twist and the seasonal setting. The powerplays in the coven added tension, though at times the plot felt rushed and I wished for more detailed descriptions and explanations.

While the romance develops quickly - and relies heavily on the „mating bond“ trope- it still offers satisfying chemistry. That said the FMC‘s shift from anger to desire and love felt a bit too fast and the relationship could have used more emotional build-up.

This is an open-door paranormal romance with spice appearing fairly early on, so beware if you are not comfortable with that.

All in all it is a straightforward fast-paced festive read with a solid setup for future installments. I will likely pick the next one up and will probably read the connecting series „The Wolves of Langeais“ too.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-arc in exchange for an honest opinion.
