This is my first book from this author and while I enjoyed it to a degree I also found it a bit farcical.
The plot was really interesting and it did grip me from the start but parts of it were just too far fetched. The main character made so many stupid decisions that just would not happen in the real world.

This is a fast-paced, dramatic and action-packed thriller.
When Ciara finds her husband murdered in her bed, she is arrested and imprisoned. Ciara is in a race against time to clear her name and to save her daughter who has a life-threating illness.
There are so many threads to the story - some more believable than others.
An emotional rollercoaster.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

My Review! 🏠
Blurb;
You’re behind bars, framed for a crime you didn’t commit.
Midwife Ciara Duffy goes to sleep and wakes in the small hours to find her husband beside her – stabbed through the heart. Soon she is arrested and charged with his murder.
You get one chance to run.
Ciara knows she is innocent. She has no one to rely on. Meanwhile, her young daughter is gravely ill. Ciara has to fight – by any means necessary.
Do you take it?
The day comes when getting out might be possible. But Ciara’s choices are bleak: hope justice prevails and she gets to her daughter in time. Or become a fugitive on the hunt for a killer.
My Review;
Overall, I enjoyed reading this book. It drew me in from the very beginning, & kept me reading through to the end. I did find this a bit of a heavier read, as opposed to an 'easy read' style, but the plot had various twists & turns, so the style was written fittingly to incorperate these.
This tells the story of main character, Ciara, who wakes up to find her husband dead; having been stabbed in the heart. Ciara is then arrested on suspicion of murder, & is kept in custody on remand. Caira knows she is innocent, but she needs to be able to prove her innocence, by finding out who really murdered her husband, which she cannot do behind bars, so she gets her one chance to escape; to go on the run, & she takes her chance.
No only must Ciara try to figure out just who murdered her husband, but who murdered her father, too, - plus she must try to save her very ill daughter.
I found the characters within believable, & I was shocked/surprised by the twist I did NOT see coming, near the end!
Out of a rating of 1-10, where 10 is the highest, I would rate this a 7 out of 10.
Overall, a good read, & one which I would recommend.

I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down.
It follows Ciara and looks at her past and how it catches up with her.
The book keeps you gripped from the start as her past unravels and is revealed and how it is affecting her life today. Her husband isn’t all he seems and there’s a lot going on there too.
One night changes everything and her life falls apart in the most spectacular way leaving Ciara lost and alone fighting for the truth.

Wow! Wow! Read this book in one day! Fast paced and kept me guessing until the very end. I struggled between and 3 and 4 star rating. But landed with a 4!

I usually love Amanda Cassidy's books but this one, I'm very sorry to say, I struggled with. I just couldn't get into it. The plot couldn't hold my attention. Nonetheless l, I'll be sure to pick up her next book as I enjoyed the previous ones.

Absolutely wild from page one!
The Stranger Inside opens with probably the most insane first chapters I’ve ever read in a thriller. I was literally scared af. The fear, the pacing, the tension - all of it is so visceral and immediate that I couldn’t look away. Amanda Cassidy knows how to pull you into a moment and hold you there.
There are so many interesting and interwoven elements throughout the story (betrayals, motherhood, injustice, escape) all tangled up in a relentless plot. I really admired Ciara as a character, especially her fierce determination and commitment to her daughter. Her personal arc is one of the most compelling parts of the book.
That said, I did have a few issues that held this one back from being a full four (or five) stars for me. Some plot points felt entirely unbelievable, particularly around how her daughter came into her life, the prison arc, and honestly the whole thing with the first husband - that thread felt undercooked and kind of unnecessary. The book kicks off at 100 and (mostly) stays there, but it does teeter a little in the middle and the ending didn’t quite match the explosive start.
Still, this is a super fast-paced read that would absolutely slap on the silver screen. Think: high-stakes drama, non-stop action, and a protagonist you want to root for even when you’re not sure what’s real.
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 — could’ve easily been a 4 with a few tweaks, but I’d still recommend it to thriller lovers who like their stories full of action and momentum.
Thank you to Amanda Cassidy, Canelo Crime, and NetGalley for the eARC.

I enjoyed reading this! There were preposterous action-heavy parts and one-too-many medical anomalies for one novel, but I was willing to overlook them because I enjoyed the ride. 3.5 (rounded to 4) stars/5
Thanks to NetGalley and Canelo for letting me read an ARC.

Well put a cork in it and shut the door. The twists are superior quality and I love the opening of the book because it quickly draws you in and sets the stage for the rest of the book. It's fast pace is relentless and the thrills are intense to say the least.

Thank you to Net Galley for providing me with an Advanced Reader Copy of this title.
WOW this book had me hooked, it had more twists than a corkscrew. Every time I thought the plot was going one way it would go another. I couldn’t put it down, highly recommend.

Thank you to net galley and Canelo for allowing me to read this arc!
WOW! I was absolutely hooked and couldn’t put this down.
Ciara Duffy wakes in the middle of the night to find her husband next to her in bed, stabbed to death. She is arrested and charged with his murder. Although their marriage was difficult for a while, she isn’t a murderer and she is determined to prove her innocence and be reunited with her gravely ill daughter.
I love Amanda’s writing style that keeps the reader gripped from the first page and wow was I gripped. The twists in this book had me unable to stop reading, I just had to finish it and I was not disappointed! Almost every chapter ending with a cliffhanger!
If you love a fast, psychological and gripping thriller then this book is for you and I highly recommend this to anyone!

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC! This story follows midwife Ciara Duffy after waking in the middle of the night to find her husband murdered. Shortly after, Ciara is framed and arrested for the murder and will do anything to prove her innocence and get home to her daughter. This story was so fun, fast-paced, and full of twists I could have never anticipated!

The opening of this book was spot on! What a great way to start the story! Full of tense and thrill. As the book progressed I really enjoyed it! The plot is what stood out and I really liked reading along finding out what was going to happen next. The characters were really well thought out and it was an overall good read. My only thing was I felt the story could have gone a little bit longer.

The premise of this story was captivating and made me want to keep reading to find the solution to the puzzle. However, the author relied heavily on the main character reminiscing in order to fill in the gaps in the lead up to the opening scene. I think I would have preferred the typical past/present chapter rotation as is common in these types of mystery novels.
There was some suspense and action, but it was the lengthy information dumps that caused me to lose interest at times.

Wow!!!! This book deserves more than 5 stars !!!
Highly Highly recommended!!
This is the first book l've read by this author and wow did she knock it out of the park!!
The first chapter will get any parent that has ever taken their eyes off their child for even a minute
From there the twists and turns just kept coming. There was one twist in particular that I actually gasped out loud at.
I started this book at night and found myself saying one more chapter, one more chapter into the early hours of the morning. This is a read in one sitting book - just trust me !!!
I didn't even come close to predicting the ending of this book. This is very rare for me
Will be reading all Amanda's other books now (:

`Talk about an emotional ride! `Imagine fighting for your innocence after being accused for a crime that you didn't commit, all the while, your daughter is gravely ill and you can't be with her. Talk about a rollercoaster! The author did a good job bringing the action from the beginning. The ending wraps up perfectly and left me with no questions unanswered. The book was paced well, and I enjoyed the characters. Overall, 4.5 solid stars from me! Definitely a must read.
Thank you NetGalley for the eArc.

DNF @ 47%.
Thanks to the author, Netgalley, and Canelo for an ARC of this book in exhcnge for an honest review.
This book did not work for me like it did for other readers! I felt as though the author was trying to pull too much off while simultaneously feeling reductive in terms of plot.
A positive was that the writing was accessible and easy to read, fast-paced and punchy!
I will pick up ore from this author, this one just did not work for me as I wanted it to!

The Stranger Inside is a gripping, emotionally charged thriller that explores the dark corners of grief, manipulation, and identity. While a few twists were predictable, the emotional payoff was strong and satisfying.
Fans of domestic suspense and slow-burn psychological thrillers will find this one haunting and hard to put down.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
