DNFing at around 50%.

It wasn't bad, hence the still 3 star rating. I just, unfortunately, didn't feel much connection to the characters or the story. I feel like the long-winded prose kept making me mind drift instead of drawing me in. I might try to pick this up again later in the future.

Thank you for the opportunity to read "Dance of Demons." I really appreciate it. After some thought, I’ve decided not to continue with the story, so I won’t be able to provide a full review. While the language has a unique richness, I found myself struggling to stay engaged—partly because of the explanatory prose, and partly because I couldn’t fully connect with the character development.

The emotional shifts, especially in the opening scene—where the protagonist moves quickly from viscerally experiencing the prospect of facing his abusive father to provoking him without much lingering fear or self-preservation—felt a little too abrupt for me to fully follow or invest in his experience.

That said, this is just one reader’s subjective response, and I’m sure others will connect with the story in ways I couldn’t.
