Cute Crochet Dog Hats
Supplies List
Another line space between the sections for crochet hooks and stich markers. It just breaks up that huge block of text maybe?
Love the yarn weight chart! I need that as a bookmark or refrence card for my wallet.
I am not a fan of using wire supports for my dog hats. Are there really specific techniques that make it safer? showing to ho curl wire over into loops so there are no sharp edges and then wrapping in tape?
There are wire burr tools used in jewelry making that will round out the edges of wire. using for making your own earring backs. I'm an over thinking for safety and I love my dog more than most people so this is a stress point for me and I would personally probably rethink or alter myself the pattern.
Safety note in "crochet basics and techniques'.. make it bigger and red! again... i'm a safety nerd and think it would stand out more because everything else is a big wall of text on the page.
The photos from the bunny hat are perfect to put my stress at easy about the wire! maybe also put them in the front? fig 1, 2 and 4
Wow there is a lot of great photos for all the stitches.
All the model photos are the cutest thing ever!!
Love the shark and the Stego one needs another photo to show it off! it gets lost in the bush photo.
I want to make the Puppy Party Hat because I made one out of paper for my dog and the elastic broke so I have been needed a new one. I think a line could be added for context: This hat is worked from the top down.'
I've found that pointing out the direction of the working order is really helpful if people are not experienced. I started at the beginning instructions like... how many do I cast on? Why isn't this making sense? and I've crocheted since I was like 6.

Thank you NetGalley for the arc. Super cute crochet tutorial book! Multiple photos showing what to do along with written out instructions, and gives list of supplies needed for every prop.

Need a fun projects and love dogs, buy this book! The patterns are to die for (there is a pattern for a BROCCOLI 🥦 hat!) The author does an exceptional job with photos and detailed explanations that don’t get over confusing. The pictures to follow along with you are perfect. There are a lot of cute custom options but also some great every day hats for dogs. And I especially love how the author offers sizing for S-XL. Those XL dogs never have enough clothes options. If you have never crocheted a day in your life, these are simple and would be a great starter project.

For dog lovers and crocheters! This is so cute, well written, easy to follow. Obsessed with the photos! I like that Oja provides a "base layer" to test how big your dog's head is AND it provides a base so you can get creative!

You wanna make hats for your dogs?! this is the place to find the best patterns! beautiful sunflowers, terrifying sharks, fancy tophats and winter pompoms! a little of everything for every season, including the iconic broccoli, green beans, and blueberry hats from our favorite tiktok doggy foodies! with step by step instructions on how to make each one, and a list of yarn, hooks, and other materials needed this is a fantastic way to get into a new hobby! it's also filled with notes from Sookie, Ivy and Enzo's owner on her journey through the decision to make the hats, as well as comments about her life with her dogs, what inspired each crochet, and details about each piece. it's a heart warming reminder of our best friends, and also a fantastic way to really annoy your dogs. (or cats, for the smaller sizes. cat owners should be warned that cats have claws and are often less tolerant of such behaviors from their owners than most dogs are. no i don't wanna talk about the scratches on my arms.) a one of a kind book from a one of a kind family, get your hooks and yarn, and start making beautiful hats!

From the introductory instructions to the ending dedication, this book is a delight. Whether you're a long-time fan of The Gorls or just like dogs and crochet, there is a lot to love for anyone who picks this up. The patterns are a good mix of novelty hats and more traditional shapes, though I suppose it could be argued that any dog hat is a novelty. I loved the pictures of Sookie and Ivy in their finest. The patterns are detailed and easy to follow for anyone with basic crochet skills, and the beginner instructions at the front of the book make it easy to learn for anyone who wants to.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an ARC of this title.

Hahaha these dog hats are very cute and very funny!
I doubt tho if my chihuahua will let me secure any of them on his head.
Good explanations and crocheting techniques are shown and the completed hats are shown worn by the pets.
It will be great for the Xmas season but sadly it doesn’t get published till Dec which doesn’t leave much time to crochet them as Kris Kringle gifties.
They certainly make fun gifts and are a change from the standard amigurumis that seem to be flooding the crochet world atm..
I raced through the book with excitement as soon as I received the book and have not had time to make any.
Brilliant creations Sookie & Ivy and thanks for letting me preview the book.

I am here for this. The instructions went above and beyond any crochet book. How to measure the dogs head to crochet the right fit was visually explained in pictures and writing. Hands down, best and cutest crochet book of the year! I cannot wait to purchase for my library.

Sookie and Ivy Crochet Cute Dog Hats
I’m guessing that most people who are considering this book know something about crochet. But if crochet is new to you, the author kindly provides an introduction which discusses tools, yarn types, and has great photos showing each stitch and instruction in the book. She instructs the reader how to measure the dog’s head for the hats and provides a guide for the sizing the pattern to fit your pup’s head.
But obviously the most fun is deciding which of the many hats you want to make. Initially my eye went to the sunflower hat. But then I found one after another that I thought were so adorable. The Snow-Gorls Pom-Pom Hat is too cute for words. And what about the Top Hat and Sun Hat patterns? The instructions are detailed and there are photos for constructing the hats after crocheting the different sections. The broad grouping of hats are “Traditional” Hats, Fruit and Veggie hats, Animal hats, and Pawty-Time Hats. Each is adorable and the author has provided photos of her dogs wearing these hats. What fun you can have dressing your dogs in such fun hats – or for you crafters who want to offer a different type of product to your customers, this book provides all sorts of ideas.

Super cute dog crochet hats. I don't know if I could get my dog to wear these but they're at least something other than blankets, stuffies or coasters to crochet.

This is another book that I was super excited for because I have followed the author's journey over social media. I absolutely loved seeing Sookie and Ivy pop up on my feeds in their ridiculous but supremely adorable hats. While I don't personally have a dog that I could make these for, there are plenty of dogs in the family and I think I just solved their Christmas presents!
The patterns are easy to follow and detailed, often including pictures of the steps in the process and other cute tips and tricks (swap out colors for this holiday, add something extra for that event, etc.). I also loved the introduction to basic crochet at the beginning. I think this would be a great book for someone getting started or seasoned in doing crochet work!
