I loved the rhyming informational way this book is set up.This book is perfect for preschoolers and early readers.

The illustrations in this book are beautiful. This felt to me like It's a Small World - Christmas Edition, and I really enjoyed it. Such a fun way to teach kids about different traditions around the world!

This book was oh so cute! The cutest illustrations and I absolutely loved loved loved the diversity. What a wonderful Christmas book.

This is an adorable holiday story highlighting unique facets of cultures celebrating Christmas around the world. I would say this is geared toward the preschool crowd, as younger than three will have difficulty grasping the geography and cultural differences. However, even for young ones of all ages the illustrations are festive and colorful. I love that there is a tidbit of cultural knowledge on each page regarding Christmas celebrations in other areas of the world. Thanks to NetGalley for this advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

A wonderful Christmas tale that is very different to anything else I have read to my children. They loved it and so did I. Highly recommended.

This children's book was very cute and I'll be getting it for my nephew this year! I love that it's brought in other countries and cultures, to show how Christmas differs outside the United States. I just wish it had been a little longer.

This was a lovely one. I can say that the story of the elves trying to save Christmas was beautiful, and even more so to see how the author and the illustrations showed us the different Christmas traditions of different countries (and seeing my country here was a real bonus that I liked). Without a doubt, this is a story that will be popular among children because of the beautiful illustrations and the entertaining story.

I loved this book, showing the elves going to various countries around the world on Christmas Eve. It shows all the different types of decorations each country has up, and even has a section at the end oof the book telling the children a bit more about the decorations and foods each country has during their Christmas celebrations.

12 Little Elves Save Christmas is both adorable and educational. Told in rhyming verse, we follow 12 little Elves as they set out to save Christmas all over the world before torrential weather ruins the celebrations.
What I loved most about this book is that each two page spread focuses on a different country and cultural celebration of Christmas and traditions. At the back of the book is the flags of each country and a small section of information about each countries traditional Christmas festivities.
This is a great book to celebrate all cultures and traditions around the world.

Not a bad book and I was initially impressed that it contained information for 19 different countries. However, a few of the verses and a couple of the cultural celebration choices seemed like a bit of a stretch. If we had more space available for holiday picture books, I'd reconsider purchasing, but with our very limited space and these slight drawbacks I decided to give it a pass. Nevertheless I'll remember the title for readers advisory if someone asks for a title with this purpose.

There is a huge storm all over the world with snow, winds, sleet, rain and power outages. Will this put an end to Christmas? Not if the 12 little elves can help it. They hop in their sleighs and travel all over the world making things right. They bring candles to Greece, stitch new books in Iceland, allow performers to ride their reindeer, shovel snow, bake national treats and more all around the world. Each page takes the reader to another country where they learn about a specific tradition and how the elves helped. Everywhere things are blown away, too wet to use, snowed in, and ruined, until the elves save the day. This is a great story to introduce some basic customs and ways that Christmas is celebrated around the world. Although it is brief, it will elicit further investigation of multi-cultural celebrations. The end of the book gives an explanation of the celebration to pique the interest of the reader. The illustrations are whimsical and detailed. My grandson didn't think they looked much like elves though. I liked this book and think it would be a good one to use when teachers are sharing world celebrations with their classes. My grandkids enjoyed it, and liked learning about different places and how they celebrate. We did end up on the world wide web, looking up some of the words and customs.

A lovely rhyming picture book following a group of elves saving Christmas around the world. I especially liked the glossary at the end of special Christmas celebrations in each country. Lovely bright pictures for young readers. A perfect Christmas gift

I think this book is so cute. I loved learning about all of the traditions around the world regarding the Christmas holidays. My mind is still blown that since 1980 Japan has been eating American fried chicken for Christmas (smh). I guess it’s like many families in the United States eat Asian food for Christmas Eve 🙋.

Some of the rhymes are good, some are cheesy, and others don’t make any sense to me at all. I think the information imparted is the best.

Susanna Covelli’s illustrations are entertaining. They will keep children engaged.

Stephanie Campisi includes a cheat sheet in the back with a list of all of the countries and the traditions highlighted in the book. I enjoyed this section just as much as flipping through the pages.

Kids will love to learn from 12 Little Elves Save Christmas as this world becomes a little bit smaller. I think this could be a great teaching tool in the class and library. Have kids participate in different traditions. Heck, I’d go to a party where fried chicken is being served.😆

The whole world has suffered a devastating storm that is going to ruin Christmas. Together, 12 elves join together to repair the most prized tradition in different countries around the world.

I thought this book was so cute and perfect for the Christmas season. As the elves travel across the world, the reader learns about different cultures and their different traditions around Christmas. I think this is an easy way to introduce different practices to toddlers and young children while having fun with it.

Highlights: diverse, easy for toddlers to understand, magic of Christmas, importance of helping others.
