My kiddos adored this audiobook. They thought the story was funny, it kept them entertained in the car, and they asked to listen multiple times. My 6 year old said that the reader (narrator) was funny, so I think she really enjoyed the pizzazz they used in recording!

Great listen and very fun! It's a classic cat and child story that follows them through life and full of silly moments along the whole way.

What a sweet story that younger elementary school students will enjoy!
The audiobook was so well done and those special effects contributed to the fun. I do think that having the physical book in front of the reader while listening to the book will enhance their reading experience.

This was a great and immersive audiobook. The story was cute and the audiobook narration was fully immersive with soundtrack, and sound effects. However, the audiobook alone is not enough to follow the story so this would be a great option in conjunction with the physical book or picture book.
I received a courtesy copy of this audiobook from netGalley

Much like the cat we have at home, Walter is a mischievous “secret agent” that is always causing trouble. Samantha is out to convince her parents that Walter is no ordinary cat!
My daughter & I enjoyed this audiobook; however, it would have been better to have seen the illustrations with a physical copy. Perfect for a quick car ride, though! A humorous and entertaining story!

I received a copy of this audiobook from netGalley for a honest review.
What a cute story about a kid who thinks their cat is a secret agent. Oh so many things go wrong but it all works out in the end. I think the pictures might add a great deal to this book though.

In this hilarious audiobook, you will laugh out loud at this cool cat’s antics!
This story is about a girl who gets a pet cat, who is anything but ordinary! When he starts to be mischievous, the young girl, Sam, is convinced he’s a secret agent. She is determined to prove it. Will Walter (Aka Mr.Kitty Pants) be able to save the day with his super feline spy skills?
This was such a cute audiobook and I loved the added sound effects!
Thank you NetGallery, publisher and author for allowing me an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

My 6-year-old found this book to be silly and entertaining, especially because we are cat owners and lovers! The music sound effects were a nice addition and the narrator did a good job imitating a younger sassy child. I do feel like this book would probably be better suited for a hard copy versus an audiobook because of how things were described, but overall an enjoyable silly read in the car! I would recommend to any older kids (5+) that like cats and have a good imagination :)

I listened to this audio book with my six year old granddaughter and four year old grandson and we all enjoyed it, especially the six year old. The sound effects were fun and the story was cute. Will have to purchase the paper picture book to accompany the delightful narration. Recommended. 4 stars.
Many thanks to Net Galley and Macmillan Audio | Macmillan Young Listeners for a chance to listen to an ARC version of the book.

This book is cute. I think I would prefer this one as an Ebook or physical copy. Some of the action was hard for my daughter to understand and I had to really work to understand what was happening. It's a really fun story, the narrator does a great job and the background music was a nice addition! I think the illustrations are a little more integral to the story than some other picture books that are also audiobooks.

This was a funny story that my boys (ages 6.5 and 7.5) enjoyed listening to in the car. The audio has fun instrumental music, a good narrator, and the jokes are perfect for primary/elementary students who can read between the lines a bit and see what the author is getting at.
I highly recommend this fun audio for a combination print and audio text so that it accompanies the pictures for readers of all ages and reading abilities to enjoy.

This was an interesting story! Unexpectedly so, it seemed there was a high production value. For a kid, I could see them really enjoying all the music and the sound effects while telling the story.
It was overall really cute and relatable.

Wasn’t able to connect with the story … love cats and children’s books but was not charmed by this one.

This one was a super fun listen. The narrator did a fantastic job with all the different characters, bringing them to life. My youngest has adventures with our cat, and she loved listening to this book and then creating new adventures inspired by this read.

Fantastic, cute, fun book filled with imagination! How can a little girl convince her parents of her beloved pet's amazing skills as a secret agent? The voices are great and I was laughing out loud.
Thanks to NetGalley for letting me listen to this audiobook

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.
It is a really cute story about a child who knows that their cat is a secret agent and wants to prove it. I feel that the narrator did a wonderful job at voicing all the characters. You could really tell the difference in each of the voices and the emotions that they were portraying.
I felt that the story was a little difficult to follow without the physical book. Moments such as when her cat catches her when she fell would be more impactful if we knew what Samantha was actually doing or where she was at. However, if you are listening while following along with the physical book then the background sounds may be less impacting.

My Cat Is a Secret Agent is a fun and imaginative audiobook that mixes ordinary cat behavior with thrilling spy missions. The narrator brings the story to life with charm, entertaining listen from start to finish.

Samantha knows her cat Walter is no ordinary car. It seems that Walter graduated from the Secret Agent Academy for Gifted Felines and his codename is Kitty Pants.
.
Aww this cute story is definitely too short!!!
As a grandma I always loved reading books to my grandchildren and, of course, before them my daughters. Most stories have a good message something that can get discussed afterwards..
I believe every child should be read-to and who knows if that indeed happens perhaps there just might be more kind loving adults in this world!
Want to thank NetGalley and Macmillan Audio/Macmillan Young Listeners for granted me this children’s audiobook.
Publishing Release Date scheduled for September 30, 2025.

Super cute, quick, and fun. Narrator did a great job! I don’t know the intended age ranges for this book, but I’m not sure it can hold the attention of a small child.

A fun, fast-paced adventure filled with humor, gadgets, and a super sneaky feline! Kids will love this imaginative story of a cat living a double life—ordinary pet by day, secret agent by night. Purr-fect for young readers who love mystery and laughs! 🐾🕵️♂️🐱
