I received this book via NetGalley and I’m sharing my honest review. When I requested this book, I didn’t realize it was part of a series. Fortunately, I found out before reading, so I started with the first two books. The series is set in a small town, with each book focusing on two different main characters. The other townspeople remain part of the story, making it a continuous tale where only the main characters change.
This book centers on Jenna, who runs a shop, and Jack, a former New Yorker and millionaire investment banker who’s new to Starr’s Fall. Their paths cross when they argue over the store not carrying smoked salmon.
I really enjoyed this book, especially the ending—it was really sweet. What I appreciate about the series is that each story concludes by introducing the protagonist(s) of the next book, creating a nice sense of continuity.
If you like small-town romance, I really recommend this book and the whole series. It’s best to start with the first book to get to know the community. Thank you for letting me read this book—I can’t wait for part 4 and will definitely read it when it’s available!

Really good to catch up with the residents of Starrs Fall and this time it’s Jenna’s story. After a not so positive first meeting with new resident Jack will Jenna’s life be the same. The mercantile receives a refurb and we catch up with the lives of the other fav residents.
New beginnings and new friendships and surprises from a special family member.
My thanks as always to NetGalley and Publisher Boldwood books for the early read for an honest review

This is the third in Starr's Fall series, which focuses on Jenna, a local who runs the Mercantile that her parents used to run. She butts heads with Jack, a newcomer to town. He's a hotshot stockbroker from NYC who has moved there to change his lifestyle after having a heart attack.
I enjoyed there romance as they butted heads and found new meaning to their lives. It follows along with the other locals that we've seen in previous books and moves forward their stories as well.
This is-
- a small town romance
- enemies to lovers
- dealing with difficult family histories
- slowing down to small-town life after high-powered jobs
- taking chances in life
- reconnecting with family
- dealing with a loved one's illness
- running a business in a small town
I'm enjoying this series with the cozy small-town life and romances, which center around running businesses in town. It appears that the next story is being set up for the next in the series.
Thanks to @boldwoodbooks, @netgalley, and the author for this arc.

This is my first time reading one of Kate's books, even though this is book three in the Starr's Fall Series and I have not read the other two I would say it is fine to read as a standalone though I will be going back to read the others as I really enjoyed this light hearted read. As soon as I started this read I knew it would be for me. Jenna runs a general store in a quiet town and it's slow and rustic and she knows she could be doing more but when Jack turns up and points out the obvious to her it really gets her hackles up. This infuriating outsider coming here and telling her what to do but he is handsome too. Can the two of them work out their differences and help each other see the light at the end of the tunnel. The story flowed well and was sad when it ended. Loved it. A new author I will be looking out for in the future.

I enjoyed this book, it was like a Netflix movie, the kind of book that gives you a warm hug. I loved the fact the characters were in their forties and loved the recognition of the scars life can give you by then and how they impact your decisions in life. A thoroughly enjoyable read and I look forward to the next instalment of life in this cute little town

Enjoyable next chapter in the Starr’s Fall series from Kate Hewitt. While this can be read as a standalone, many characters, including fmc Jenna have been introduced in previous books. Jenna runs the town general store, taken over after her parents retired. The store is pretty old and hasn’t kept up with modern times, as pointed out by town newbie Jack. He recently moved from NYC after health issues forced him to take a break from Wall Street. Used to the finer things in life, Jack is somewhat rude when Jenna’s store doesn’t meet his needs. They get off on the wrong foot until he offers his consultative services to turn the store around. I appreciate that this story features middle-aged ish characters (she’s 39, he’s 42). The story is chaste and cozy and an enjoyable read. Check it out.
Thank you, Boldwood Books, for providing this book for review consideration through NetGalley. All opinions expressed are solely my own.

Travel to Starr's Fall in Kate Hewitt's series - Coming Home to Starr's Fall and Playing for Keeps in Starr's Fall. Snowflakes over Starr's Fall is the third in the series and is as delightful as the first two. A good clean romance with humor and wonderful characters. A small town where everyone knows everyone's business and characters who don't mind. Because that's part of what makes Starr's Fall such a great place to live.
Releases Aug. 17th. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

"Snowflakes over Starr's Fall" is the third installment of the Starr's Fall series but it can be read as a standalone.
Jenna, who runs Millers Merchantile in Starr's Fall, has a history of heartbreak and hates changes. Jake breezes into town, a city slicker type, and turns heads and rubs Jenna up the wrong way...They both have pasts and fears but will anything serious develop between them?
The book is very predictable, as most romance novels are, but it is written in great detail with a lot of emotion and I liked that the other characters from the previous books are mentioned quite a lot and that it doesn't just focus on Jenna and Jack.

“Snowflakkes over Starr’s Fall”, by Kate Hewitt, is a heartfelt story featuring two desillusioned people who start as enemies and end up embarking in both a business renovation and an amorous relatonship.
I loved how both Jack and Jenna begin in a place of loneliness and a certain sadness and lack of hope and slowly fall in love and find some kind of bliss and redemption.
Jack is a sexy hero with that “low and rumbling voice” and the initial unfriendliness hiding a thoughtful person.
I loved how energetic Jenna faces the risk of embarassment and opens up honestly, despite the fears and insecurities.
I was moved by the sense of loneliness and emptiness in both Jack’s and Jenna lives.
The author did a great job depicting the hero’s growing isolation and loss of identity because of the career-ending situation.
The feelings of being irrelevant, expendable, easily forgotten by colleagues and “friends” because of the loss of status are real in these situations and might hurt.
I enjoyed the “flirt by fighting”, humor, friendships, the fact the leads are honest with themselves and between them.I
I also liked the initial antagonism, even hostility between the leads, how both changed and adapted throughout the story.
The Miller’s Mercantile renovation project and the general atmosphere of Starr’s Fall are also interesting.

Three and a half stars.
Jenna runs Millers Mercantile in Starr's Fall. She left home to follow a city slicker, it all went horribly wrong and she returned to Starr's Fall determined never to change for a man ever again. Unfortunately that attitude has somehow become entwined with the store and she refuses to countenance any changes, even though the store is slowly going downhill.
Jack was a Venture Capitalist in New York and made his first million by the time he was twenty. However, he has recently had a heart attack and developed a stomach ulcer. His doctor warned him he would be dead in five years unless he made some sweeping changes to his lifestyle. Jack has bought a five-bedroom architect-designed house on the lake in Starr's Fall to be closer to his mother who has Alzheimer's and is in a local care home, but without his 24/7 work work work lifestyle he is feeling bereft, and the doctor prescribed bland diet isn't helping.
When Jack wanders into Millers Mercantile looking for smoked salmon he is visibly dismissive of the old-fashioned store, the limited stock, and the general air of neglect. For her part, Jenna sees a city slicker with a Rolex and a Porsche and associates him with her ex. Words are spoken. Jack writes a one star review. Jenna trash talks him to her friends.
However, they both realise they have overstepped a line and call a truce. Jack offers to give Jenna some assistance in updating the store, and Jenna accepts.
Can a city slicker and a country mouse fall in love? Can Jack leave the bright lights and the action behind? Can Jenna get over her mistrust of city boys?
This was pleasant enough, although the conflict at the end felt a bit false and rushed.
I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley.

Great read. love hearing more about these characters. I can't wait for the next one. I enjoy the Starr's falls series.

This was exactly the kind of warm, heartfelt story I needed. Kate Hewitt brings the charming town of Starr's Fall to life with such vivid detail that I could practically feel the snow crunching under my boots and smell the pine trees in the crisp winter air.
What I loved most about this book was the emotional depth beneath the cozy setting. The characters are dealing with real struggles, and their personal growth felt honest and well-paced. I was especially drawn to the main character's quiet strength and how she slowly opened her heart again. The romantic storyline developed naturally and never felt rushed or overly sentimental. It left me with a sense of hope and warmth.
The supporting characters added just the right touch of small-town charm without being too quaint. Every scene contributed to the feeling that this was a community you’d want to be a part of during the holidays.
This is more than just a festive read. It’s a story about healing, love, and second chances. I’ll definitely be looking out for more of Kate Hewitt’s books after this one.
Four and a half stars from me. A perfect read for a cozy winter evening.

I love the Starr's' Fall books. Jenn's lived here all her life and loves running the store until someone comes in and ridicules it because she doesn't sell smoked salmon. He leaves a scathing revue on the website.

Set in Starr's Fall, this novel explores friendship, loss, romance, and community. The characters were perfect for this genre; believable, likeable, and exactly what I hoped for in a comforting read. Yes, it’s predictable, and I absolutely loved it.
The plot is linear and a real page-turner. It gave me that warm and fuzzy feeling, just as it’s meant to. I especially enjoyed the cosy atmosphere of the town, particularly as Christmas approached, and it added a lovely, festive charm.
This is feel-good romantic fiction at its best: predictable, uplifting, and heartwarming.
I received an ARC from NetGalley, and this is my honest review.

Lovely to return to stars falls to catch up with the towns lovely folk. Lovely to be a part of Jenna story and read more about the backstory of her. She had been home from new york for 10 years after a break up and has licked her wounds, running the shop snd living at her parents house. She had been treading water. When Jack turns up sparks fly as they detest each other on site. He is a city slicker and reminds her if her ex. Circumstances mean they have to work together to run winter wonderland for the town. Can they get past this? I love this series its so charming and captivating. Perfect reading.
Thank you netgalley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is the book every lady needs with a soft blanket, hot cocoa and a fire. It was absolutely adorable! I loved every page of this book. The characters were perfect.

Another great story from Starr's Fall. Jenna has run the general store for 10 years. The store hasn't seen any updates for at least that long. When Jack, a former Wall St rock star and now new resident of Starr's Fall comes in looking for smoked salmon with an attitude, the insults fly. Jenna is offended and Jack is struggling with life changes after a serious heart attack. They are pushed to work on the Winter Wonderland parade and Jack offers to help Jenna with ideas for the store. They each discover that they have feelings for one another. When a bump in the road hits, they are able to work out the struggle. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from NetGalley and this is my honest review.

SNOWFLAKES OVER STARR’S FALL by KATE HEWITT ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Snowflakes Over Starr’s Fall is the third (#3) book in the ‘Starr’s Fall’ series
After a disastrous relationship Jenna Miller returns home to Starr's Fall with her heart broken and her tail between her legs to run the family's mercantile store.
After twenty years of working 24/7 as a venture capitalist and neglecting his health - leading to a heart attack and a bleeding ulcer, Jack Wexler has moved to Starr’s Fall for a quieter life.
The pair clash from the beginning, seemingly with nothing in common they can barely stand to be in the same room together. Eventually though they get over their initial animosity and tiptoe into a relationship, but the course of true love never runs smooth…..

Whilst this is the third book in the series it is the first one I have read not only in the series but by this author.
This book is a lovely slow burn, gentle read with a delightful premise. Starr’s Fall sounds like the quintessential Christmas village with interesting characters and a wholesome feel. Tastefully written, this subtle romance is suitable for all readers - there is nothing but chaste kisses on page which is a nice change from the spicy books around these days.
Sadly there were a couple of things in the book that really irked me, hence the three stars.
Firstly Jack was referred throughout the book as ‘Jack Wexler’ over and over again. It started to get annoying, especially when Jenna still referred to him as such (in her mind) even after they had started dating. We got that his surname was Wexler after the third or fourth mention 🙄.
Secondly all the angst both Jenna and Jack were feeling went on for far too long. Well past half way Jenna was still going on about how she didn’t trust any man. I just get thinking ‘get over yourself’. Neither of them felt mature enough to have a relationship.
Thirdly I just really didn’t ‘feel’ this couple. They just felt too ‘polite’. I didn’t feel any connection, any affection in either their words or actions. By the end of the book they were still barely able to have a conversation without a misunderstanding or argument but then in the epilogue they’re engaged and their lives are perfectly worked out *shakes head*.
Overall this is a pleasant read and I would definitely try this author again. The book was a perfect length at around 280 pages long and the cover is delicious and draws you in and leaving you wistfully wishing you lived there.
🍣 Small town romance
🍣 Enemies to lovers

Another sweet story from Starr's Fall. This time following mercantile owner Jenna and newcomer to town Jack. I enjoyed watching their story unfold. It would read just fine alone as well. Can't wait for the next visit to this small CT town!

Jenna lives in Starr's Fall and Runs the general store. Jack is new to the area and when he meets Jenna sparks fly. sweet story.
